、そしていずれの場合にも植毛穴間の間隙が狭い為に歯
ブラシを使用した後の水切れが悪く不衛生になりやすい
という問題もある。

毛列によるブラッシング圧に加えて内側2列の植毛列に
よるブラッシング圧も効果的に作用し、植毛郡全体とし
て大きなブラッシング圧が発揮できるのである。

mmとした歯ブラシ台に取付けて試験歯ブラシを構成し
、植毛基部面積を1.4c1fi〜3.Odの範囲で段
階的に変化させて、各植毛基部の面積に対する歯垢除去
効果を測定した。この試験は5名の被験者による1週間
を一つの周期とした9週間にわたる繰り返し試験であり
、一種類の歯ブラシの試験期間に一週間を割り当て、次
の週は別の歯ブラシの試験期間に割り当てるというよう
に各周期を繰り返し植毛基部面積の異なる9種類の歯ブ
ラシの使用試験を行うものである。そして各1週間の試
験手順は、1白目は歯垢及び歯石の完全な除去、2日目
〜4日目迄は歯垢の再付着を行う為の柔毛によるブラッ
シング、5日目〜6日目はフ゛ラッシング中止、7白目
は歯垢除去試験を行うものである。1白目に歯垢と歯石
の除去を行い、その後柔毛による歯垢の再付着を行うの
は、歯石の存在による歯垢の除去効果への影舌をなくし
、純粋に歯垢の除去効果のみの測定を可能にするためで
ある。尚、歯垢除去試験は、先ず柔毛によるブラッシン
グ中止後に歯垢付着量Rを測定し、この後、試験歯ブラ
シを用いてブラッシングを行って歯垢を除去し、ブラッ
シング後の歯垢付着量Sを測定する。そして(R−S
