In recent years, damage caused by dogs, cats, and birds has become a problem. For example, before a cleaning truck can collect the plastic bags and paper bags containing leftover food and leftover vegetables from households, dogs and cats tear through the plastic bags and paper bags that are placed in garbage collection stations. It is often seen that debris is scattered on the road. In addition, cases of bites by stray dogs, damage caused by bird feces outside buildings, urban houses, etc., damage caused by dog or cat feces in places that are undesirable for public health or a nuisance to others, and loss of plants caused by bird damage to sown plants. There has been a demand for a drug that can effectively prevent various types of damage caused by dogs, cats, and birds.

For this reason, various repellents for dogs, cats, and birds, or packaging materials coated and impregnated with these repellents have been proposed. For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 57-74158 discloses a packaging material in which the surface side of polyolefin laminated paper is coated and impregnated with a dog and cat repellent containing lemongrass oil as a main component. describes polyethylene bags processed by mixing dog repellent substances such as allyl isothiocyanate (main component of mustard oil) L-nonyl lactone and citral (component of citrus peel oil) during polyethylene film forming. . Also, JP-A-8
No. 0-142903 describes a dog and cat repellent containing diethyltoluamide and menthol as the main ingredients, and JP-A-289003 also describes ketones containing green leaf alcohol, green leaf aldehyde, cinnamic alcohol, or cinnamon. Repellent compositions for dogs, cats, rats, and birds containing aldehydes have been described.

Each of the above-mentioned conventional repellents has extract oils of plants as a main component, and some of them are composed of compounds synthesized from these oils. However, when using plant extract oil as an active ingredient, most of the repellent effects are effective against one or the other, for example, when targeting dogs and cats, and there are few that have a clear effect on both. None. Furthermore, when a fragrance is used as an active ingredient in a repellent, there is a problem in the sustainability of its efficacy, and there is a problem in that it volatilizes quickly, especially in summer, resulting in a short duration of efficacy.

Furthermore, when treated with conventional commercially available formulations,
Since the repellent effect is weak, dogs and cats eat leftover food and vegetables other than the parts to which the preparation has adhered, so there is a problem that the actual effect is not increased.

Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a repellent composition for dogs, cats, and birds that has a repellent effect on all dogs, cats, and birds, and that can have a repellent effect over a relatively wide range and that can last for a relatively long period of time. Our goal is to provide the following.

In order to achieve the above object, the dog, cat and bird repellent composition of the present invention contains as an active ingredient a powder of a plant containing a spicy spice and/or a powder of a plant containing an aromatic spice. This is a characteristic feature. Furthermore, the repellent effect can be increased by incorporating a repellent fragrance.

As a result of experimenting with a large number of drugs, the present inventor discovered that spices such as koshiyo, wasabi, and chili pepper, which have been known since ancient times, have a repellent effect on dogs, cats, and birds. This is what we have come to.

Spicy and aromatic spices such as koshiyo, chili pepper, wasabi, clove, gekkeiju, and sansho are used in cooking, but their spiciness makes them difficult for humans to eat, so they are used as pesticides to prevent accidental ingestion. It is used. It has been found that when alcoholic extracts of the spices mentioned above, such as capsicum tincture, are mixed into dog food, dogs and cats will eat them without any problem, even if the additive rate is so high that humans cannot eat them.

When a repellent was prepared using the spice powder and applied to dog food, dogs, cats, and pigeons did not eat the dog food for about a week, and the repellent effect was observed. The mechanism of action that exhibits such an excellent repellent effect is thought to be due to the combined effects of the above-mentioned spices, including their stimulating effect on the sense of smell and the stimulating effect on the mucous membranes of the nostrils. Because the repellent effect is exerted by stimulating the sense of smell and the mucous membranes of the nostrils, for example, if granules or powder prepared from the above spice powders are sprinkled on leftover food, not only the parts that are attached to it, but the entire leftover food will be repelled by the dog. It is not damaged by prey such as cats, has a wide range of effects, and has almost no volatility, so its repellent effect lasts for a considerably longer period than conventional repellent fragrances.

Further, according to research conducted by the present inventors, it has been confirmed that a synergistic repellent effect can be exerted by using the above-mentioned spices in combination with conventionally known repellent fragrances such as D-limonene. As mentioned above, in the case of powders or granules that use a repellent fragrance such as D-limonene alone, the repellent effect is different for dogs and cats, so it is difficult to obtain a sufficient repellent effect for both dogs and cats. . In addition, even if it is effective, it is limited to the area where it was sprayed, and sometimes dogs and cats eat the leftover food, excluding the area where the drug was attached.Furthermore, since the fragrance is volatile, the effect only lasts for a few days. And short. However, when such repellent fragrances are used in combination with spicy spices, aromatic spices, or a combination of these three ingredients, a synergistic repellent effect is observed, and dogs,
It has a repellent effect on both cats for 1 to 2 weeks, and is most effective when the three ingredients are combined. Furthermore, even when granules were prepared and dispersed, it was confirmed that the entire leftover food was not damaged by hunting by dogs and cats, and that it was equally effective against pigeons.

It showed an excellent repellent effect, especially in the case of a repellent composition consisting of three components: a hot spice (capsicum), an aromatic spice (salt), and a repellent fragrance.

As described above, since the repellent composition of the present invention contains a plant powder containing a spicy spice and/or a plant powder containing an aromatic spice as an active ingredient, it is suitable for dogs, cats, and birds. It has a repellent effect on all of them, and the duration of the repellent effect is also quite long. Furthermore, when granules or powders prepared from the repellent composition of the present invention are sprinkled on leftover food,
Unlike conventional repellent granules, not only the parts to which they are attached, but also the entire food scraps, are not damaged by hunting food from dogs, cats, etc., and the range of effectiveness is wide. Therefore, even when spraying the repellent composition of the present invention to prevent dogs, cats, and birds from approaching, the repellent effect can be maintained over a wide area and for a long period of time. Furthermore, a sufficient repellent effect can be exerted with a relatively small amount.
