Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect an overhead earth-line against a thunderbolt by covering a stainless pipe around a spacer storing optical fiber cables in its grooves and further covering the pipe with a conducting material pipe. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber cables 1 are stored in the grooves of a spacer 2, the periphery of the spacer 2 containing the optical fiber cables 1 is covered with a stainless pipe 4, and the periphery of this stainless pipe 4 is covered with a conducting material pipe 5. The conducting material pipe 5 prevents overheat by the induction current through a distribution line excited by a thunderbolt. When it is formed in a pipe shape with a plate material, the soldering 6 prevents the infiltration of water into the inside. The stainless pipe 4 preserves the airtightness of the inside (prevents the infiltration of water into the inside) when the outside conducting material pipe 5 is melted by the discharge of a thunderbolt and contributes to improving the tensile strength of an overhead earth-wire with this structure. An overhead distribution line can be thereby protected against a thunderbolt.
