Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve both weight reduction and enhancement of rigidity and facilitate manufacture by forming a front frame from a pair of right and left box-shaped members having suspension mounting parts attached to their respective outer surfaces, and connecting a rear frame to the front frame. CONSTITUTION: The frame 1 of a vehicle, e.g. a four-wheeled buggy, comprises a front frame 10 and a rear frame 40. In this case, the rear frame 40 comprises lower and upper cross members 43, 44 suspended between the rear lower parts 41a, 42a and the rear upper parts 41a, 42b of right and left members 41, 42. The front frame 10 comprises right and left members 20, 30 forming a box- shaped closed cross section, and brackets 24, 25 forming the mounting parts of a front wheel suspension unit are attached to the main bodies 21, 31 of the members 20, 30. The front ends 41e, 42e of the members 41, 42 of the rear frame 40 are fitted into recess parts 22a, 23a in the mounting parts 22, 23 of the front frame 10.

The frame of this type of vehicle is as disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 62-83283, in which frame members made of left and right loop-shaped vibrators are connected by a cross member, and the left and right rear wheels are driven by swing arms. The left and right front wheels are supported in a swingable manner to form a rear wheel suspension mechanism, while the left and right front wheels employ a suspension mechanism, such as a double wishbone type suspension device, for steering and buffering. The upper and lower A-arms are pivoted to the left and right so that they can swing up and down, and the knuckle arms are supported at the tips of the upper and lower A-arms to support the front wheels so that they can be steered freely, and the Jl impulse is performed by the up-and-down movement of the A-arms. let

In order to support the above front wheel suspension mechanism, separate support frames are added to the front of the frame on the left and right, and multiple cross members are installed between the left and right support frames and between the lower members at the front of the frame to increase rigidity. Brackets are fixed to the outer sides of the left and right support frames and the front parts of the left and right frames at a distance from each other in the front and back, and the upper and lower A-arm bases are pivotally supported by these brackets.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The conventional frame described above is formed of a pipe-like frame up to the front wheel support part, and a vibe-like member that supports the steering suspension mechanism is attached to the front part. First of all, there are many frame members such as support members and cross members, and the number of parts including suspension arm support brackets is large, and since these parts are assembled by welding, the number of welding steps increases, making frame fabrication cumbersome, complicated, and reduces productivity. Second, it is difficult to maintain precision because a large number of vibe-like members are welded and the brackets are welded.Furthermore, the weight increases because cross members etc. are often used to maintain rigidity. Moreover, there are problems such as disadvantages in terms of cost due to the above.

As described above, the front wheel differential device 66 is installed in the front frame 210.
This eliminates the need for a gear case for the differential, and the front frame 210 also serves as the gear case. The gear case is the front frame, which is large and has high rigidity, and the internal differential gear is perfectly protected. Also, the storage space is large, so the size, type, and structure of the differential gear can be selected and designed as desired. There is a high degree of freedom.

(Effects of the Invention) As is clear from the above, according to the present invention, in the frame of a four-wheel buggy, etc., the front frame is a box-shaped jointed structure, and the front frame is a press-formed product before joining, or Since the parts for attaching the front wheel suspension member are provided in advance on the cast member, the front frame member becomes a box-shaped half, which simplifies the structure, reduces the number of parts, and reduces the number of welding and joining steps. In addition, unlike assembling and joining the vibrator materials, productivity is improved, and precision is improved because the mounting parts are provided in advance on the left and right halves and the front frame is formed by joining the halves. However, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of fluctuations in accuracy as in the past, and the cost can be reduced as a result of the above, and since the front frame is made into a box-shaped body, a space is created inside, making it suitable for implementation in four-wheel drive vehicles. The differential gear can be built inside the frame, eliminating the need for a gear case and simplifying the front wheel drive system for this type of vehicle.Secondly, the front frame is a box-shaped closed section, which provides high rigidity. Therefore, it can be formed from a press-formed product of steel plate or a cast product of aluminum alloy, etc., making it lightweight, and since many frame components and reinforcing members are not required, the structure can be simplified and lightened in this respect as well. There are many advantages such as being able to
