既述のとおり、本発明は、氷路面制動時にトレッドゴムが氷路面から入力される周波数を、氷路面形状と制動時のすべり速度との関係から明らかにし、その条件を粘弾性測定条件に反映させることにより、前記式(1)、(2)のパラメータを導き出したものである。具体的には、前記式(1)に関しては、粘弾性測定を摩擦の原理原則に基づき定めた温度と周波数で実施すると共に、測定応力をタイヤの接地圧を用いて実施し、せん断変形モードにてヒステリシスロス摩擦のポテンシャルとして「-30℃tanδ」を物性パラメータに規定し、前記式(2)に関しては、伸長モードの定ひずみによる測定において、ヒステリシスロス摩擦のポテンシャルとして「-30℃tanδ/0℃E*」を物性パラメータに規定したものである。そして、「-30℃tanδ」、「-30℃tanδ/0℃E*」の最適範囲を定めることにより、ヒステリシスロス摩擦のポテンシャル(tanδ)が高すぎることで、氷上路面において氷を解かして水を発生させ、ゴムと路面の接触面積を低下させることが抑制されると考えられる。従って、前記式(1)、(2)を充足することで、優れた氷上制動性能を付与できると推察される。

ゴム組成物に使用可能なゴム成分としては、例えば、ジエン系ゴムを使用できる。ジエン系ゴムとしては、イソプレン系ゴム、ブタジエンゴム(BR)、スチレンブタジエンゴム(SBR)、スチレンイソプレンブタジエンゴム(SIBR)、エチレンプロピレンジエンゴム(EPDM)、クロロプレンゴム(CR)、アクリロニトリルブタジエンゴム(NBR)などが挙げられる。また、ブチル系ゴム、フッ素ゴムなども挙げられる。これらは、単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。なかでも、氷上制動性能の観点から、イソプレン系ゴム、BR、SBRが好ましく、SBRがより好ましい。
変性ジエン系ゴムとしては、シリカ等の充填剤と相互作用する官能基を有するジエン系ゴムであればよく、例えば、ジエン系ゴムの少なくとも一方の末端を、上記官能基を有する化合物(変性剤)で変性された末端変性ジエン系ゴム(末端に上記官能基を有する末端変性ジエン系ゴム)や、主鎖に上記官能基を有する主鎖変性ジエン系ゴムや、主鎖及び末端に上記官能基を有する主鎖末端変性ジエン系ゴム(例えば、主鎖に上記官能基を有し、少なくとも一方の末端を上記変性剤で変性された主鎖末端変性ジエン系ゴム)や、分子中に2個以上のエポキシ基を有する多官能化合物により変性(カップリング)され、水酸基やエポキシ基が導入された末端変性ジエン系ゴム等が挙げられる。
なお、本明細書において、スチレン含有量は、1H-NMR測定によって測定できる。
なお、本明細書において、ビニル結合量(1,2-結合ブタジエン単位量)は、赤外吸収スペクトル分析法によって測定できる。
ゴム組成物は、氷上制動性能の観点から、フィラーを含むことが好ましい。フィラーとしては特に限定されず、ゴム分野で公知の材料を使用でき、例えば、シリカ、カーボンブラック、炭酸カルシウム、タルク、アルミナ、クレイ、水酸化アルミニウム、酸化アルミニウム、マイカなどが挙げられる。なかでも、カーボンブラック、シリカが好ましい。
なお、カーボンブラックの窒素吸着比表面積は、JIS K6217-2:2001によって求められる。
なお、シリカのN2SAは、ASTM D3037-93に準じてBET法で測定される値である。
ゴム組成物がシリカを含む場合、更にシランカップリング剤を含むことが好ましい。
シランカップリング剤としては、特に限定されず、例えば、ビス(3-トリエトキシシリルプロピル)テトラスルフィド、ビス(2-トリエトキシシリルエチル)テトラスルフィド、ビス(4-トリエトキシシリルブチル)テトラスルフィド、ビス(3-トリメトキシシリルプロピル)テトラスルフィド、ビス(2-トリメトキシシリルエチル)テトラスルフィド、ビス(2-トリエトキシシリルエチル)トリスルフィド、ビス(4-トリメトキシシリルブチル)トリスルフィド、ビス(3-トリエトキシシリルプロピル)ジスルフィド、ビス(2-トリエトキシシリルエチル)ジスルフィド、ビス(4-トリエトキシシリルブチル)ジスルフィド、ビス(3-トリメトキシシリルプロピル)ジスルフィド、ビス(2-トリメトキシシリルエチル)ジスルフィド、ビス(4-トリメトキシシリルブチル)ジスルフィド、3-トリメトキシシリルプロピル-N,N-ジメチルチオカルバモイルテトラスルフィド、2-トリエトキシシリルエチル-N,N-ジメチルチオカルバモイルテトラスルフィド、3-トリエトキシシリルプロピルメタクリレートモノスルフィド、などのスルフィド系、3-メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシラン、2-メルカプトエチルトリエトキシシラン、Momentive社製のNXT、NXT-Zなどのメルカプト系、ビニルトリエトキシシラン、ビニルトリメトキシシランなどのビニル系、3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン、3-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシランなどのアミノ系、γ-グリシドキシプロピルトリエトキシシラン、γ-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、などのグリシドキシ系、3-ニトロプロピルトリメトキシシラン、3-ニトロプロピルトリエトキシシランなどのニトロ系、3-クロロプロピルトリメトキシシラン、3-クロロプロピルトリエトキシシランなどのクロロ系などがあげられる。市販品としては、デグッサ社、Momentive社、信越シリコーン(株)、東京化成工業(株)、アヅマックス(株)、東レ・ダウコーニング(株)等の製品を使用できる。これらは、単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
ゴム組成物には、可塑剤を配合してもよい。可塑剤とは、ゴム成分に可塑性を付与する材料であり、例えば、液体可塑剤(常温(25℃)で液体状態の可塑剤)、樹脂(常温(25℃)で固体状態の樹脂)等が挙げられる。
なお、上記樹脂の軟化点は、JIS K6220-1:2001に規定される軟化点を環球式軟化点測定装置で測定し、球が降下した温度である。
ゴム組成物は、耐クラック性、耐オゾン性等の観点から、老化防止剤を含有することが好ましい。
ゴム組成物において、加硫促進剤の含有量は特に制限はなく、要望する加硫速度や架橋密度に合わせて自由に決定すれば良いが、ゴム成分100質量部に対して、好ましくは2.0質量部以上、より好ましくは3.0質量部以上、更に好ましくは3.5質量部以上である。上限は、好ましくは8.0質量部以下、より好ましくは6.0質量部以下、更に好ましくは5.0質量部以下である。
予め、0.18ミリモルのバーサチック酸ネオジムを含有するシクロヘキサン溶液、3.6ミリモルのメチルアルモキサンを含有するトルエン溶液、6.7ミリモルの水素化ジイソブチルアルミニウムを含有するトルエン溶液、及び、0.36ミリモルのトリメチルシリルアイオダイドを含有するトルエン溶液と1,3-ブタジエン0.90ミリモルを30℃で60分間反応熟成させて得られる触媒組成物(ヨウ素原子/ランタノイド含有化合物(モル比)=2.0)を得た。続いて、シクロヘキサン2.4kg、1,3-ブタジエン300gを窒素置換された5Lオートクレーブに投入した。そして、上記触媒組成物を上記オートクレーブに投入し、30℃で2時間、重合反応させて、ポリブタジエンの重合体溶液を得た。なお、投入した1,3-ブタジエンの反応転化率は、ほぼ100%であった。
変性BRを得るために、前記合成例のポリブタジエンの重合体溶液に次の処理を行った。温度30℃に保持した重合体溶液に、1.71ミリモルの3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシランを含有するトルエン溶液を添加し、30分間反応させて反応溶液を得た。それから、この反応溶液に1.71ミリモルの3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシランを含有するトルエン溶液を添加し、30分間撹拌した。続いて、この反応溶液に1.28ミリモルのテトライソプロピルチタネートを含有するトルエン溶液を添加し、30分間撹拌した。その後、重合反応を停止させるため、2,4-ジ-tert-ブチル-p-クレゾールを1.5g含むメタノール溶液を添加して、この溶液を変性重合体溶液とした。収量は2.5kgであった。続いて、この変性重合体溶液に、水酸化ナトリウムによりpH10に調整した水溶液20Lを添加し、110℃で2時間、脱溶媒とともに縮合反応させた。その後、110℃のロールで乾燥して、得られた乾燥物を変性重合体(変性BR)とした。

表1に示す配合処方にしたがい、(株)神戸製鋼所製の1.7Lバンバリーミキサーを用いて、硫黄及び加硫促進剤以外の薬品を150℃の条件下で5分間混練りし、混練り物を得た。次に、得られた混練り物に硫黄及び加硫促進剤を添加し、オープンロールを用いて、80℃の条件下で5分間練り込み、未加硫ゴム組成物を得た。
得られた未加硫ゴム組成物をキャップトレッドの形状に成形し、他のタイヤ部材とともに貼り合わせて未加硫タイヤを作製し、170℃の条件下で10分間プレス加硫して試験用ウィンタータイヤ(乗用車用スタッドレスタイヤ、サイズ:205/70R15)を得た。
試験用ウィンタータイヤのキャップトレッドから採取したサンプル(加硫後のゴム組成物)について、Metravib社製の粘弾性試験機(DMA+450)を用いて、下記のせん断変形のモードの条件下で、損失正接(-30℃におけるtanδ)を測定した。

サンプルサイズ:直径10mm、厚さ2mm
試験用ウィンタータイヤのキャップトレッドから採取したサンプル(加硫後のゴム組成物)について、粘弾性スペクトロメーターVES((株)岩本製作所製)を用いて、下記のせん断変形のモードの条件下で、-30℃におけるtanδ(損失正接)、0℃におけるE*(複素弾性率(MPa))を測定した。

E*の測定温度:0℃
サンプルサイズ:長さ10mm、幅1.7~2.0mm、厚さ1.4~1.5mm
試験用ウィンタータイヤを国産2000ccのFR車に装着し、気温-1~-6℃の条件下で氷雪上を実車走行し、氷上制動性能を評価した。氷上制動性能評価としては、具体的には、上記車両を用いて氷上を走行し、時速30km/hでロックブレーキを踏み、停止させるまでに要した停止距離(氷上制動停止距離)を測定し、下記式により指数表示した。指数が大きいほど、氷上でのグリップ性能(氷上制動性能)が良好である。

- 下記せん断モードの条件下の-30℃におけるtanδが下記式(1)、下記伸長モードの条件下の-30℃におけるtanδ及び0℃におけるE*が下記式(2)を満たすゴム組成物からなるタイヤ部材を有するウィンタータイヤであって、
前記タイヤ部材は、トレッドであるウィンタータイヤ。

- 前記ゴム組成物は、ゴム成分100質量部に対する可塑剤の含有量が50~70質量部である請求項1~3のいずれかに記載のウィンタータイヤ。
- 前記ゴム組成物は、ゴム成分100質量部に対する液体可塑剤の含有量が40~60質量部である請求項1~4のいずれかに記載のウィンタータイヤ。
