Description

The present invention relates to a waterproof structure and construction method using a waterproof sheet for rooftops, roofs, verandas, etc.

Traditionally, steel roof structures have a slanted roof structure in which insulation and sheathing boards are fixed to the main building and roofing materials such as tiles and metal sheets are layered on top. These structures have high fire resistance because the roofing materials are non-combustible. If the top surface of the roof is made of non-combustible materials such as tiles or metal sheets, there is no need to consider openings in the sheathing board joints or flames blowing up in the event of a fire.

When the outermost surface of a roof is made of non-flammable materials such as tiles or metal sheets, the roof is sloped to ensure waterproofing. Generally, tiles have a slope of 4/10 or more, slate sheets have a slope of 3/10 or more, and metal sheets have a slope of 1/10 or more.

In addition, when clay tiles are used as roofing materials, there is a problem that the clay tiles are heavy and place a large load on the structure. Therefore, it has been proposed to use lightweight resin-based roofing materials as roofing materials. Patent Document 1 discloses a resin-based roof structure in which a sheathing board is fixed to the roof substrate, an underlayment is laid on the sheathing board, and a resin-based roofing material is laid on the underlayment in sequence, and the resin-based roofing material is formed of a glass fiber-mixed unsaturated polyester resin corrugated sheet. It is disclosed that by specifying the substrate, sheathing board, underlayment, and resin-based roofing material in this way, the fire resistance of the resin-based roof structure laid on the roof can be improved, and a resin-based roof structure that can comply with the fire resistance test in the Building Standards Act can be achieved.

However, structures using roofing materials in the above-mentioned conventional technologies have the problem that they are heavy, put a strain on the structure, and have poor watertightness, so waterproofing performance can only be achieved with a sloped roof. One method to achieve this is to apply a waterproof sheet to the top surface of a sloped roof made of layered roofing materials such as tiles and metal sheets, making it lightweight and highly waterproof. However, waterproof sheets are generally flammable, so fire resistance must be ensured.

In other words, the objective of the present invention is to provide a lightweight sheet waterproofing structure and construction method that maintains high waterproofing and fire resistance in a waterproofing structure for roofs with a small slope angle.

Therefore, in the present invention, a sheet waterproof structure can be provided that includes a plurality of underlayments arranged and fixed on a support member composed of a plurality of steel frames arranged in parallel at intervals to form a roof, a joint covering material made of a non-combustible material that is joined to the underlayment only on the upper side of the underlayment joint portion that is approximately perpendicular to the support member at the joint formed by butting adjacent underlayments, and a waterproof sheet laid and fixed on the underlayment and the joint covering material, the underlayment being made of a heat insulating material and a sheathing board laminated with the heat insulating material, the sheathing board being any of a wood board, a wood cement board, an inorganic board, and a glass fiber mixed resin board. Also, the sheet waterproof structure may be such that the heat insulating material is arranged on the support member side and the waterproof sheet is fixed on the sheathing board side, or the heat insulating material may be phenol foam. Furthermore, the joint covering material may be aluminum tape.
As another embodiment, it is also preferable to use a sheet waterproofing structure further including a non-combustible filler filled between the joint covering material and the base plate. It is also preferable that the waterproofing sheet has a thermoplastic resin layer and a glass nonwoven fabric layer, and the thermoplastic resin layer is laminated on the upper and lower surfaces of the glass nonwoven fabric layer. The waterproofing sheet and the base plate may be bonded to each other by an adhesive.
The construction method includes the steps of laying a plurality of subfloors on a support member composed of a plurality of steel beams arranged in parallel at intervals to form a roof, butting the plurality of subfloors together to form subfloor joints, and fixing the subfloors to the support member, covering only the upper side of the subfloor joints, which are approximately perpendicular to the support member, with a joint covering material which is a tape composed of a non-combustible material, and laying and fixing a waterproof sheet on the subfloors and the joint covering material, and the construction method can be a sheet waterproofing structure construction method in which the subfloors are made of insulating material and sheathing boards laminated with the insulating material, and the sheathing boards are any of wood-based boards, wood-based cement boards, inorganic boards, and glass fiber mixed resin boards.

By using a waterproof sheet, it is possible to obtain a sheet waterproof structure and its construction method that maintains light weight and high waterproofing properties, can be used on roofs with small slope angles, and also maintains fire resistance.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
The first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 1. Two base boards 4 are fixed onto a support member 1 that constitutes a roof, adjacent base boards 4 are arranged so as to butt against each other, a joint covering material 5 is arranged and fixed on the upper side of the base board joint portion A, which is the joint, and a waterproof sheet 6 is laid and fixed on the base boards 4 and the joint covering material 5. The joint covering material 5 is made of a non-combustible material.
By using the waterproof sheet in this way, it is possible to obtain a sheet waterproof structure and its construction method that maintains light weight and high waterproofness, can be used on roofs with a small angle of inclination, and further maintains fire resistance. In this embodiment, the sheet waterproof structure can be used to create a flat roof, and the roof can be inclined at an angle of 0°. The inclination angle may also be about 0° to 30°. To reduce the inclination even further, it is preferable to set it to 1/50 or more, and to further improve drainage, it is preferable to set it to 1/20 or more. By reducing the inclination angle in this way, there is an advantage that construction is improved and it becomes easier to construct structures with large floor areas.

More specifically, in the first embodiment, a base plate 4 is placed on a support member 1 made of steel, and the base plate 4 is fixed to the support member 1 with screws (not shown). The base plate 4 is composed of a sheathing board 2 and a heat insulating material 3, with the sheathing board 2 facing upward and the heat insulating material 3 facing downward. The lower side is the side of the support member 1. A joint covering material 5, which is a tape made of a non-combustible material, is placed on the base plate joint portion A, which is the joint where the base plate 4 is butted together, and is fixed with the adhesive layer of the tape. A waterproof sheet 6 is fixed to the base plate 4 with adhesive, covering the joint covering material 5a and the sheathing board 2 of the base plate 4.

6 shows a perspective view of the embodiment. A plurality of base plates 4 are laid on the support member 1, and a joint coating material 5 is placed and fixed on the base plate joint portion A. A waterproof sheet 6 is laid on the base plate 4 and the joint coating material 5 and fixed with an adhesive. Here, the base plate joint portion A that is approximately perpendicular to the support member 1 is covered with the joint coating material 5, but the base plate joint portion B provided on the support member 1 is not provided with the joint coating material 5. It is preferable that the joint coating material 5 covers all of the base plate joint portion, but if the support member 1 provides fire resistance against flames from below, the joint coating material 5 does not need to be placed on the base plate joint portion B provided on the support member 1.
In Fig. 6, a part of the joint covering material 5 is cut away to clearly show the position of the furring board joint portion A. Also, Figs. 1 to 4 are cross-sectional views at a position corresponding to A'A' in Fig. 6, but Figs. 1 to 4 and Fig. 6 may not be the same as the A'A' cross-sectional view in Fig. 6 because the constituent members in Figs. 1 to 4 and Fig. 6 differ in some parts. The positional relationship between the support member 1, furring board 4, furring board joint portion A, and the joint covering material 5 in Figs. 1 to 4 is shown at a position corresponding to A'A' in Fig. 6.

The second embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 3. In the second embodiment, a steel plate is used as the joint coating material 5. A base plate 4 is placed on a support member 1, and the base plate 4 is fixed to the support member 1 with screws (not shown). The base plate 4 is composed of a sheathing board 2 and a heat insulating material 3, with the sheathing board 2 facing upward and the heat insulating material 3 facing downward. A band-shaped joint coating material 5e formed by folding a steel plate is placed on the base plate joint portion A, which is the joint where the base plate 4 is butted together, and screws 8 are driven into both end edges of the joint coating material 5e to fix it. A waterproof sheet 6 is fixed to the base plate 4 with adhesive, covering the joint coating material 5e and the base plate 4.

In the first and second embodiments, the base board 4 is composed of the sheathing board 2 and the heat insulating material 3, but the base board 4 may be composed of only the sheathing board 2. The base board 4 has fire resistance to hold the roof part against flames from below in the event of a fire and to prevent flames from blowing out from the roof, and also functions as a base flat surface for laying and fixing the waterproof sheet 6 provided on the base board 4. Therefore, the base board 4 needs to be a flat plate-like structure with fire resistance that can withstand flames. Therefore, the sheathing board 2 that constitutes the base board 4 needs to be a flat plate-like structure with fire resistance that can withstand flames.
In addition, it is preferable to have the insulating material 3 because it improves the thermal insulation. In addition, when the sheathing board 2 and the insulating material 3 are included, it is preferable that the sheathing board 2 and the insulating material 3 are joined together, and it is more preferable that the sheathing board 2 and the insulating material 3 are joined together before construction. By joining the sheathing board 2 and the insulating material 3 together, the number of steps during construction is reduced.

The sheathing board 2 constituting the base board 4 can be made of wood-based boards such as plywood, OSB (Oriented Strand Board), particle board, etc.; wood-based cement boards such as wood wool cement boards, hard wood wool cement boards, wood wool boards, wood chip cement boards, hard wood chip cement boards; inorganic boards made by solidifying inorganic materials such as cement boards, slate boards, and calcium silicate boards; and glass fiber mixed resin boards. The insulation material 3 can be an insulation material generally used in waterproof structures, such as hard urethane foam, polystyrene foam, polyethylene foam, and phenol foam. Inorganic insulation materials such as glass wool can also be used.

The base board 4 is placed on the support member 1 and fixed to the support member 1 with screws or the like (not shown). Furthermore, the multiple base boards 4 placed on the support member 1 are arranged so that adjacent base boards 4 are butted up against each other. By butting adjacent base boards 4 in this way, base board joint portion A, which is a joint, is formed. Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 6, base board joint portion A is usually formed by arranging multiple plate-shaped base boards 4, so when viewed from the outside of the roof in a plan view, base board joint portion A is often formed in a lattice shape. This base board joint portion A is provided between the support members 1.

In the first and second embodiments, a joint covering material 5 is disposed on the sheathing board 2, which is above the furring board joint portion A. The joint covering material 5 only needs to be able to prevent flames from blowing out from gaps in the furring board joint portion A due to flames from below the furring board 4, or to prevent the furring board 4 from deforming due to flames and heat, causing flames to blow out from the furring board joint portion A.
Therefore, the joint coating material 5 is required to be a non-combustible material. Here, the non-combustible material is a material that is resistant to flames and heat, and is not limited to the non-combustible material specified by the Building Standards Act and the like. As the non-combustible material used as the joint coating material 5, a metal steel plate such as stainless steel, a glass fiber sheet, a glass fiber fabric, and other inorganic materials can be used, and an organic material may be combined with the inorganic material. For example, a resin-coated steel plate having a thermoplastic resin coating layer on a steel plate, a paint-coated steel plate, an aluminum tape having an adhesive layer on a thin aluminum film, and the like can be used. Here, when the waterproof sheet 6 is a polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet, a vinyl chloride steel plate in which a steel plate is laminated with a polyvinyl chloride resin-based layer can be used. More specifically, the steel plate can be exemplified as follows. General structural rolled steel (JIS G 3101), Highly weather-resistant rolled steel plate (JIS G 3125), Cold-rolled steel plate and strip (JIS G 3141), Hot-dip galvanized steel strip (JIS G 3302), Tinplate and tinplate base plate (JIS G 3303), Electrogalvanized steel plate and strip (JIS G 3313), Hot-dip aluminum-plated steel plate and strip (JIS G 3314), Tin-free steel (JIS G 3315), Hot-dip zinc-5% aluminum alloy-plated steel plate (JIS G 3317), Hot-dip 55% aluminum-zinc alloy-plated steel plate and strip (JIS G 3321), Hot-dip zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy-plated steel plate and strip (JIS G 3323), Hot-rolled stainless steel plate and strip (JIS G 4304), Cold-rolled stainless steel plate and strip (JIS G 4305), Polyvinyl chloride-coated metal plate (JIS K 6744), polyvinyl chloride coated steel plate (SG compliant), polyvinyl chloride one-sided coated stainless steel plate (SUS430).

The joint covering material 5 is preferably a long, thin strip in order to cover the base board joint portion A, which is formed long in one direction as shown in FIG. 6, and it is preferable that the other side is formed longer than the width of the joint covering material 5. In addition, it is preferable that the width of the joint covering material 5 is long enough to sufficiently cover the base board joint portion A. The joint covering material 5 may be adhered to the base board 4 with an adhesive or the like, or may be fixed with screws or the like.

Here, FIG. 5 shows a modified example of the joint covering material 5. It may be flat, like the joint covering material 5a in FIG. 5. Tape or strip-shaped steel plate can be used as the flat joint covering material 5a. In the case of tape, an adhesive layer can be provided on the tape, allowing the tape to be fixed to the base plate 4 without applying adhesive during construction. In the case of a joint covering material 5 using strip-shaped steel plate, it may be fixed to the base plate 4 with adhesive, or it may be fixed using screws.

When the joint coating material 5 is mainly composed of a steel plate, it is preferable to fold the edge of the steel plate to form a folded portion 53, as in joint coating material 5c, to increase the rigidity of the steel plate and reduce deformation before and during construction.

The joint coating material 5e shown in FIG. 5 has a horizontal piece 51 and a fixing piece 54, and has legs 55 extending downward from both ends of the horizontal piece 51, and the fixing piece 54 is connected to the legs 55 that are approximately parallel to the horizontal piece 51 and spread outward from both ends of the horizontal piece 51. The fixing piece 54 is provided to fix the joint coating material 5 to the base board 4, and in the case of the joint coating material 5e shown in FIG. 5, the fixing piece 54 has a screw hole 56 for passing a screw. The horizontal piece 51 is a part that covers the base board joint part A. In FIG. 3, the joint coating material 5e has a horizontal piece 51 that covers the base board joint part A, and the fixing piece 54 connected by the leg part 55 to the horizontal piece 51 spreads outward from the horizontal piece 51, and the fixing piece 54 is placed on the base board 4, and the screw 8 is driven into the screw hole 56 provided in the fixing piece 54 to fix the joint coating material 5e to the base board 4. The joint covering material 5e can be made by bending a steel plate to form a horizontal piece 51, a leg 55, and a fixing piece 55.

When fixing the joint coating material 5e with screws 8 in this manner, it is preferable to drive the screws 8 into the base board 4 away from the vicinity of the furring board joint portion A, and it is preferable to drive the screws 8 on both sides of the furring board joint portion A as shown in Figure 3. The furring board joint portion A is a weak area against flames from below, and if the furring board 4 deforms and the furring board joint portion A opens, there is a concern that the joint coating material 5 will float or come off; by driving the screws 8 into a portion away from the furring board joint portion A, with the furring board joint portion A in between, this concern can be reduced.
It is also preferable to provide a constant thickness for the joint covering material 5. Providing a thickness for the joint covering material 5 in this manner makes it easier to form a countersink when driving in the screws 8 to fix the joint covering material 5 with the screws 8. Examples of means for providing a constant thickness like the joint covering materials 5c and 5e include a method of thickening the material that constitutes the joint covering material 5 or bending it to provide thickness to the joint covering material 5.

5, the joint covering material 5b and 5d may be configured with a horizontal piece 51 and a convex piece 52, and have a generally T-shaped cross section. The joint covering material 5b has a convex piece 52 extending downward from the horizontal piece 51. The joint covering material 5d is formed by bending a single steel plate so that the convex piece 52 is doubled.
The horizontal piece 51 is placed on the upper surface of the furring board 4 in the furring board joint portion A and covers the upper surface of the furring board joint portion A, and the convex piece 52 is inserted between adjacent furring boards 4 toward the lower side of the furring board joint portion A. Here, the furring board 4 may be heated and deformed by the flame from below, which may cause the furring board joint portion A to spread, so having the convex piece 52 makes it difficult for the joint covering material 5 to detach from the furring board joint portion A, which is preferable because it makes it possible to better prevent flames from escaping from the furring board joint portion A.

In addition, because the convex piece 52 of the joint coating material 5d is formed by doubling the steel plate, if the heat or flames of a fire cause the base plate 4 to shrink and the base plate joint portion A to expand, if the joint coating material 5 is fixed at both ends with screws as shown in Figure 3, the double convex piece 52 will expand in accordance with the shrinkage, preventing the base plate joint portion A from being exposed when viewed from above, and preventing flames from erupting from the expanded base plate joint portion A.

As a modification of the embodiment, a non-combustible filler 7 may be filled between the joint coating material 5 and the base plate 4 as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The non-combustible filler 7 may be made of a non-combustible material. The non-combustible material is a material that is resistant to flames and is not limited to non-combustible materials as defined by the Building Standards Act and the like. The non-combustible filler 7 is a material that is filled between the joint coating material 5 and the base plate 4 in order to more effectively prevent flames from rising from the gaps in the joints A of the base plate, and is preferably in close contact with the joint coating material 5 and the base plate 4, and is preferably a non-combustible material that has flexibility and conformability. The non-combustible filler 7 may be inorganic fibers such as glass fibers, metal fibers, and carbon fibers, or flame-retardant sealants such as modified silicone resins, polyurethane resins, and silicones.
When the joint covering material 5 is a joint covering material 5e made of a folded steel plate as shown in Figures 2 and 3, the noncombustible filler 7 can be filled into the gap formed between the joint covering material 5e and the base plate 4. It is preferable to fill the gap formed between the joint covering material 5e and the base plate 4 with the noncombustible filler 7 to completely seal the gap, but it is also acceptable for some gaps to exist as shown in Figures 2 and 3.

In addition, the joint coating material 5 may be a combination of multiple materials. Although not shown, a first joint coating material may be fixed on the base plate 4 to cover the joint portion A of the base plate, and a second joint coating material may be placed and fixed on top of the first joint coating material. For example, aluminum tape may be attached to the base plate 4 as the first joint coating material, and a steel plate may be placed and fixed on top of it as the second joint coating material. Conversely, a steel plate may be placed and fixed on the base plate 4 as the first joint coating material, and an aluminum tape may be attached on top of it as the second joint coating material so as to cover it. In addition, a third joint coating material may be placed on top of the first joint coating material and the second joint coating material. Furthermore, a non-combustible filler 7 may be filled between the first joint coating material and the base plate 4, or the same type of material as the non-combustible filler 7 may be filled between multiple joint coating materials.

A waterproof sheet is laid on the joint covering material 5 and the base plate 4 and is fixed to at least the base plate 4.
As the waterproof sheet 6, a general waterproof sheet having a thermoplastic resin layer, such as polyvinyl chloride resin, vulcanized rubber, non-vulcanized rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, ethylene vinyl acetate resin, etc., can be used. It is preferable to use a polyvinyl chloride resin waterproof sheet because of its excellent workability and bonding properties at overlapping parts.
The waterproof sheet 6 may be a single layer of thermoplastic resin, but a multi-layer product in which a base layer such as glass cloth, glass nonwoven fabric, polyester cloth, or polyester nonwoven fabric is laminated is preferable in terms of excellent dimensional stability and tensile strength. The base layer may be provided as the bottom layer, or may be provided between the thermoplastic resin layers. The thermoplastic resin layer may be a single layer or multiple layers, and each layer may have a different composition.
From the viewpoint of improving the fire resistance of the waterproof sheet 6, it is preferable to provide a glass nonwoven fabric layer between the thermoplastic resin layers.

The waterproof sheet 6 is preferably a flame-retardant waterproof sheet having flame retardancy, since it has improved fire resistance. The flame-retardant waterproof sheet can be obtained by using a flame retardant in the thermoplastic resin layer. In addition, a flame-retardant treatment agent or paint may be applied to the surface layer of the waterproof sheet 6. As the flame retardant used in the thermoplastic resin layer, a halogen-based flame retardant, a phosphorus-based flame retardant, or a silicone-based flame retardant can be used as an organic flame retardant, and a metal hydroxide or an antimony-based flame retardant can be used as an inorganic flame retardant. Examples of the phosphorus-based flame retardant include phosphorus-based plasticizers such as TCP and TXP, which also function as plasticizers, and examples of the metal hydroxides include magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide, and examples of the antimony-based flame retardants include antimony trioxide. When the waterproof sheet 6 is a polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet, antimony-based flame retardants such as antimony trioxide, phosphorus-based flame retardants such as TCP and TXP, and metal hydroxides such as magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide are preferably used. Furthermore, when the polyvinyl chloride resin waterproof sheet is constructed of two layers, the flame retardant may be added to both layers, or to either the front layer or the back layer.
More specifically, the surface layer contains 40 to 70 parts by weight of DINP as a plasticizer and 5 to 40 parts by weight of calcium carbonate as a filler relative to 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride resin, the back layer contains 50 to 80 parts by weight of DINP as a plasticizer and 20 to 80 parts by weight of calcium carbonate as a filler relative to 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride resin, and 2 to 20 parts by weight of antimony trioxide may be added as a flame retardant to the back layer or the front layer, or 2 to 20 parts by weight of antimony trioxide may be added as a flame retardant to both the front layer and the back layer. Furthermore, it is more preferable to use a glass nonwoven fabric between the front layer and the back layer in terms of improving fire resistance.

The method of fixing the waterproof sheet 6 to the base plate 4 may be a mechanical fixing method using fixing screws and fixing disks, or an adhesive method using an adhesive.
When a polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet is used as the waterproof sheet 6 and a mechanical fixing method is used, the polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet may be laid on the base board 4, a fixing disk may be placed on top of it, and fixing screws may be driven in to fix the polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet with the fixing disk, or a fixing disk may be placed on the base board 4 and fixed to the base board 4 with fixing screws, the polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet may be laid on top of the fixing disk, and the polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet and the fixing disk may be fixed together with an adhesive applied to the upper surface of the fixing disk.

Additionally, when the waterproof sheet 6 is fixed by an adhesive method, examples of adhesives include epoxy-based, NBR (nitrile rubber)-based, SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber)-based, urethane-based, and acrylic-based adhesives. When using a polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet, it is preferable to use a nitrile rubber-based adhesive. The adhesive may be applied to both sides of the waterproof sheet 6 and the base board 4, or to just one side.

Here, adjacent waterproof sheets 6 are overlapped and the overlapping portions are preferably joined by solvent welding or heat fusion, and such joining by fusion is preferred because it provides superior stability of the joining strength over time compared to adhesion using an adhesive. The solvent used for solvent welding is preferably a good solvent for the resin that constitutes the waterproof sheet 6. For example, if the waterproof sheet 6 is a polyvinyl chloride resin-based waterproof sheet, it is preferable to use THF as the main component.

The waterproof sheet 6 may also be overlapped on top of the base board joint portion A, with the overlapping portion of the base board joint portion A and the waterproof sheet 6 positioned at approximately the same position.

The support members can be made of steel or wood, and using steel is preferable because it allows for the construction of larger buildings. In addition, in large structures using steel frames, the present invention is preferable because it allows the roof slope to be reduced while maintaining waterproofing and fire resistance.

In the present invention, in addition to the base board 4, another plate-like member may be laminated to the extent that waterproofing and fire resistance are not impaired. The plate-like member may be an insulating material or a reinforcing plate. As the insulating material, a rigid urethane foam, polystyrene foam, polyethylene foam, or other insulating material generally used in waterproof structures may be used. As the reinforcing plate, an inorganic board such as a cement board, plywood, or a calcium silicate board in which inorganic material is fixed with resin may be used.

In the embodiment, the screws used may be screws, bolts, nails, etc. in general. Materials that can be used include steel materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel.
