Description

The present invention relates to the structure of a vertical joint formed by butting together the longitudinal ends of drywall materials used in buildings and structures. More specifically, it relates to a rainproofing structure for horizontal joints of drywall materials that prevents rainwater from entering through the joints of the drywall materials.

In general, when a wall is formed horizontally using drywall materials with a sandwich structure that uses a metal plate as the surface material, a synthetic resin foam as the core material, and a sheet-like material as the backing material, or drywall materials made of inorganic materials, vertical joints are formed by butting the drywall materials together in the longitudinal direction. There are several methods for forming vertical joints, such as simply butting them together, planting caulking material, using H-shaped joiners, or fitting two components, a batten and a decorative cap, together (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).

Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view showing one embodiment of the batten B and the decorative cap C used in the horizontal joint rainproofing structure of the drywall material according to the present invention. Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view showing one embodiment of the drywall material D used in the horizontal joint rainproofing structure of the drywall material according to the present invention. Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view showing one embodiment of the construction state of the drywall material D used in the horizontal joint rainproofing structure of the drywall material according to the present invention. In addition, A is a vertical joint joiner, B is a joint board, C is a decorative cap, D is drywall material, M is a joint part, T is a vertical joint part, Y is a horizontal joint part, α is a wall base, and β is a fixing device.

Figures 2 and 3(a) show the conventional construction state, and to explain in detail, conventionally, as shown in Figure 2, rainwater would seep into the indoor side from the joint M consisting of the vertical joint T and the horizontal joint Y at arrow a, along the paths of arrows b and c. In addition, as shown in Figures 3(a) and 6, rainwater would seep into the indoor side from the gap K between the drywall materials D along the paths of arrows b and c.

The vertical joint joiner A consists of a batten B as shown in Figure 4(a) and a decorative cap C as shown in Figure 4(b).

The batten B is as shown in Fig. 1 and 3(b) in its installed state, and its cross section is as shown in Fig. 4(a). It is formed in a long shape from a horizontal section 1 consisting of a vertical flat fixed piece 2 and a tongue piece 3 with both ends folded back, a guide piece 5 projecting the inner end of the fixed piece to the outside, a fitting groove 6 formed in the guide piece 5, and a fitting part 4 formed by a fitting claw 7 projecting into the fitting groove 6. Since the drywall material D is laid horizontally, the batten B is formed on the vertical furring strips α1 of the wall base α. The fitting part 4 is the part that engages with the engaging part 9 of the decorative cap C described later. α2 is the horizontal furring strip.

The decorative cap C is as shown in Fig. 4(b) in cross section, with the applied state shown in Fig. 1 and 3(b). It is made up of a vertical flat decorative surface portion 8, and an engagement portion 9 formed from two raised portions 10 protruding toward the interior from near the center of the back surface of the decorative surface portion 8, and an engagement piece 11 protruding outward from near the tip of the raised portion 10. The engagement pieces 11 may be continuous or may be formed at intervals (at a fixed pitch). The decorative cap C may be either long or short to match the working width of the drywall material.

To explain in more detail, vertical joint joiner A is made of thin metal plate materials such as iron, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum-zinc alloy plated steel plate, galvanized steel plate, enameled steel plate, clad steel plate, laminated steel plate (PVC steel plate, etc.), sandwich steel plate (vibration-damping steel plate, etc.), synthetic resin plate materials such as polyvinyl chloride resin, polycarbonate resin, etc. (including color plates painted in various colors) that are formed into various shapes by roll forming, press forming, etc.

Drywall material D is made from metal siding material, such as the cross-section shown in Figure 5, or ceramic siding material, ceramics, etc.

As an example of the drywall material D used in the waterproofing structure of the horizontal joint of the drywall material according to the present invention, a metal siding material as shown in cross section in FIG. 5 will be described in detail. The drywall material D made of metal siding material is a sandwich panel in which a core material 14 is formed between a metal surface material 12 and a backing material 13.

The metallic surface material 12 is made by embossing or pressing a thin metal plate, such as iron, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum-zinc alloy plated steel plate, galvalume steel plate (registered trademark), enamel steel plate, clad steel plate, laminated steel plate (vinyl chloride steel plate, etc.), sandwich steel plate (vibration-damping steel plate, etc.), polyvinyl chloride resin, polycarbonate resin, etc. (including color plates painted in various colors). The back surface material 13 may be made of one or more laminates of aluminum-deposited paper, craft paper, asphalt felt, metal foil (Al, Fe, Pb, Cu), synthetic resin sheet, rubber sheet, cloth sheet, gypsum paper, aluminum hydroxide paper, glass fiber nonwoven fabric, etc., or may be made of a sheet-like material that has been waterproofed or flame-retardant treated.

The core material 14 is made of a synthetic resin foam such as polyurethane foam, polyisocyanurate foam, phenol foam, vinyl chloride foam, polyethylene foam, polystyrene foam, urea foam, etc., and is discharged onto the back side of the metal surface material 12 or the back surface material 13 , and heated to react, foam, and harden to integrally form the metal surface material 12 and the back surface material 13. In addition, various flame retardant materials such as lightweight aggregates (perlite particles, glass beads, gypsum slag, talc stone, shirasu balloons, aluminum hydroxide, etc.) and fibrous materials (glass wool, rock wool, carbon fiber, graphite, etc.) can be mixed into the core material 14 to improve fire resistance and fire prevention.

One example of the overall shape of drywall material D is a long sandwich panel formed by sandwiching a core material 14 between a metal surface material 12 and a back surface material 13 made of a thin metal plate, as shown in cross section in Figure 5, and comprising a recess 15 formed at the lower end in the width direction, a protrusion 16 formed at the upper end, an upper end recess 16a formed by folding the back surface of the protrusion 16 upward, and a fixing portion 17.

Note that P is a packing material formed to enhance waterproofing, wind resistance, airtightness, and insulation.

The drywall materials D are fixed to the wall base α by fasteners β, as shown in FIG. 6, with the recesses 15 connected to the protrusions 16.

S is a sealing material, which is formed continuously from the innermost recess 16a at the top end of the drywall material D to the fixing part 17 and onto the fixing piece 2 of the batten B, as shown in Figures 1, 3(b), 7(a)-(c), and 8(a)-(c). Its length is, for example, about 50 mm.

By forming the sealant S on both sides of the joint M in this way, the infiltration paths indicated by arrows b and c of rainwater that has infiltrated from arrow a in Figure 2 can be blocked, improving waterproofing. In addition, there is no need to form the sealant over the entire length of the vertical joint T, improving workability and reducing costs.

The sealing material S is a caulking material made of silicone, modified silicone, polyurethane, etc., or ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM), etc.

The construction method for the rainproofing structure for horizontal joints of drywall materials according to the present invention will be explained using Figures 1, 4(a) and (b), 5, 6, 7(a) to (c), and 8(a) to (c).

First, the batten B shown in FIG. 4(a) is installed vertically via a fixing device β on the vertical furring strip α1 that forms the vertical joint T. Once the installation of the batten B is complete, drywall material D as shown in FIG. 6 is installed on the left and right sides of the fitting portion 4 of the batten B. Once the fixing portion 17 of the drywall material D is installed on the wall base α using the fixing device β, sealant S is dispensed from the upper end recess 16a of the drywall material D to the fixing portion 17 and the fixing piece 2 of the batten B using a caulking gun. By performing this process sequentially from the foundation to the eaves, the installation of the drywall material D and sealant S is completed.

Once the installation of the drywall material D and the sealing material S has been completed, as shown in Figure 8 (c), the engaging piece 11 of the decorative cap C is engaged with the engaging claw 7 in the engaging groove 6 of the paving board B, and the decorative cap C is installed in the vertical joint portion T, thereby completing the installation of the vertical joint portion T.

The above is merely one embodiment of the waterproofing structure for horizontal joints of drywall materials according to the present invention, and it can be formed using a batten B as shown in Figures 9(a)-(c) and a decorative cap C as shown in Figures 10(a)-(c).

In particular, the batten B shown in Figures 9(a) to (c) is used for rainproofing the horizontal joints of drywall materials at the ends, protruding corners, and recessed corners.
