Description
前記面状発熱手段の前記被加熱体と反対側の面に長手方向に沿って接触するよう配置されるヒートパイプと、
前記面状発熱手段と前記被加熱体が接触する領域に塗布されて前記面状発熱手段と前記被加熱体との摩擦抵抗を低減する摩擦低減材料と、
前記面状発熱手段と前記ヒートパイプの間に介在され、表面張力が前記摩擦低減材料と3(mN/m)以上異なる熱伝導性材料と、
を備えた加熱装置である。
前記加熱手段として請求項1乃至8のいずれかに記載の加熱装置を用いた定着装置である。
前記記録媒体に形成されたトナー像を定着する定着手段と、
を備え、
前記定着手段として請求項9に記載の定着装置を用いた画像形成装置である。
図1は、実施の形態1に係る加熱装置及び定着装置を適用した画像形成装置を示すものである。
実施の形態1に係る画像形成装置1は、例えばカラープリンタとして構成されたものである。この画像形成装置1は、現像剤4を構成するトナーで現像されるトナー像を形成する複数の作像装置10と、各作像装置10で形成されたトナー像をそれぞれ保持して最終的に記録媒体の一例としての記録用紙5に二次転写する二次転写位置まで搬送する中間転写装置20と、中間転写装置20の二次転写位置に供給すべき所要の記録用紙5を収容して搬送する給紙装置50と、中間転写装置20で二次転写された記録用紙5上のトナー像を定着させる定着手段の一例としての定着装置40等を備えている。複数の作像装置10及び中間転写装置20は、記録用紙5に画像を形成する画像形成部2を構成している。なお、図中の1aは画像形成装置1の装置本体を示し、この装置本体1aは支持構造部材、外装カバー等で形成されている。また、図中の二点鎖線は、装置本体1a内において記録用紙5が搬送される主な搬送経路を示す。
以下、画像形成装置1による基本的な画像形成動作について説明する。
図2はこの実施の形態1に係る定着装置を示す断面構成図である。
この実施の形態1に係る定着装置では、次のようにして、ヒートパイプと面状発熱手段との間に介在される熱伝導性材料と、面状発熱手段によって加熱されるベルトの内周面に塗布される摩擦低減材料の表面張力が等しい場合に比べて、摩擦低減材料が熱伝導性材料に混入することに起因して熱伝導性材料がヒートパイプと面状発熱手段との間から離脱するのを抑制することが可能となっている。
が、加圧手段としては加圧ベルトを用いたものであっても良い。

Claims (10)
- 長手方向に沿って面状に発熱して被加熱体を加熱する面状発熱手段と、
前記面状発熱手段の前記被加熱体と反対側の面に長手方向に沿って接触するよう配置されるヒートパイプと、
前記面状発熱手段と前記被加熱体が接触する領域に塗布されて前記面状発熱手段と前記被加熱体との摩擦抵抗を低減する摩擦低減材料と、
前記面状発熱手段と前記ヒートパイプの間に介在され、表面張力が前記摩擦低減材料と3(mN/m)以上異なる熱伝導性材料と、
を備えた加熱装置。 - 前記面状発熱手段は、長手方向に沿って発熱領域が異なる複数の発熱部を有する請求項1に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記熱伝導性材料は、前記面状発熱手段の長手方向に沿った長さが最も長い発熱部に対応して介在される請求項2に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記熱伝導性材料は、それ自体の保持力によって前記面状発熱手段と前記ヒートパイプの間に介在される請求項1に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記熱伝導性材料は、シリコーングリス又はフッ素グリスの何れかからなる請求項4に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記熱伝導性材料は、シリコーングリスからなり、前記摩擦低減材料は、フッ素グリスからなる請求項5に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記ヒートパイプは、熱伝導率が104(W/m・K)以上である請求項1に記載の加熱装置。
- 前記ヒートパイプは、前記面状発熱手段の長手方向と交差する方向に沿った両端部に少なくとも配置される請求項7に記載の加熱装置。
- 加熱手段により加熱されることで記録媒体上に画像を定着する定着手段を備え、
前記加熱手段として請求項1乃至8のいずれかに記載の加熱装置を用いた定着装置。 - 記録媒体にトナー像を形成する画像形成手段と、
前記記録媒体に形成されたトナー像を定着する定着手段と、
を備え、
前記定着手段として請求項9に記載の定着装置を用いた画像形成装置。
