Description

The present invention relates to a system, method, and program for providing a product delivery service that delivers ordered products to the customer's home.

Conventionally, there has been provided a product delivery service known as an online supermarket, which sells and delivers products sold in stores such as supermarkets via a communication network such as the Internet (see, for example, Patent Document 1 below). Typically, such services provide users with electronic coupons for purchasing products at a discounted sales price, allowing the users to enjoy shopping using the coupons they have obtained.

However, with the conventional services described above, some users find coupon management cumbersome, and these users are unable to obtain the benefits of the coupons (discounts on sales prices). Therefore, it is desirable to realize a system that allows a variety of users to obtain the benefits of discounts on product sales prices.

In addition, in the case of product delivery services where orders can be placed by specifying a delivery date in advance, such as in supermarkets and other stores where products are sold at the price on the day the customer visits the store, it would be desirable to realize a system that allows products to be offered at a price according to the delivery date.

One of the objects of the present invention is to support discounts on the selling price of products in a product delivery service that delivers ordered products to the customer's home. Other objects of the present invention will become apparent by reference to the entire specification.

A product delivery system according to an embodiment of the present invention is a product delivery system for providing a product delivery service for delivering ordered products, and includes a delivery date setting unit configured to set a delivery date for the products, a product information presentation unit configured to present product information relating to each of a plurality of products to a user, and an order receiving unit configured to receive an order for one or more products selected by the user from the plurality of products, the product information including a sales price of the product, and at least some of the plurality of products are configured such that the sales price of the product varies based at least on the delivery date.

The following describes an embodiment of the present invention with reference to the drawings.

Figure 1 is a schematic diagram showing the configuration of a network including a server 10 according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in the figure, the server 10 is communicatively connected to each of a plurality of user terminals 30 via a communication network NW such as the Internet. The server 10 provides a product delivery service that delivers ordered products to users who operate each user terminal 30. The server 10 is an example of a device that implements all or part of the product delivery system of the present invention.

The server 10 has a configuration as a general computer. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 1, the server 10 includes a computer processor 11 configured as a CPU or GPU, a main memory 12 configured from DRAM or the like and temporarily storing data and programs, an input/output interface 13 for exchanging information with users, a communication interface 14 for controlling wired or wireless communications, and a storage 15 configured from a magnetic disk, flash memory, or the like and storing data and programs. The computer processor 11 loads a program stored in the storage 15 or the like into the main memory 12 and executes instructions included in the program.

The input/output interface 13 includes, for example, information input devices such as a keyboard, mouse, and touch panel, an audio input device such as a microphone, an image input device such as a camera, an image output device such as a display, and an audio output device such as a speaker. The communication I/F 14 is implemented as hardware such as a network adapter, various communication software, or a combination of these.

In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, the storage 15 has a product information table TA1 that manages product information on each of multiple products sold in the product delivery service, an order management table TA2 that manages information on orders made by each user, and an order product management table TA3 that manages information on each of one or more products included in an individual order.

Figure 2 illustrates an example of information managed in product information table TA1. As shown in the figure, product information table TA1 manages information such as "product name", "regular sales price" which is the normal sales price, "discount sales price" which is the discounted sales price, and "discount application date" which indicates the delivery date on which the discount sales price is applied, in association with a "product ID" which identifies an individual product. In this way, in this embodiment, it is possible to discount the sales price according to the delivery date. The discount application date may be a specific date or period, or a day determined according to a predetermined rule such as a day of the week or a day that includes the number "3". Furthermore, product information table TA1 may manage the "store ID" of the store on which the discount application date is applied. This makes it possible to manage the discount sales price of a product for each store that is the delivery source.

Figure 3 illustrates an example of information managed in the order management table TA2. As shown in the figure, the order management table TA2 manages information such as a "user account" that identifies the corresponding user, "delivery date", "status", and a "total amount" that is the total sales price of the items included in the order, in association with an "order ID" that identifies an individual order. Specifically, the status is set to a value corresponding to one of the following: "Order not confirmed", where the items included in the order have not been confirmed; "Order confirmed", where the items included in the order have been confirmed; or "Order closed", where changes to the order (changes to delivery date/items) have been closed.

Figure 4 shows an example of information managed in the order product management table TA3. As shown in the figure, the order product management table TA3 manages information such as "quantity," which is the order quantity of the corresponding product, in association with a combination of "order ID" and "product ID."

In this embodiment, the server 10 is configured to function as a delivery date setting unit 111, a product information presentation unit 112, and an order acceptance unit 113, as shown in FIG. 1, by the computer processor 11 executing instructions contained in a program stored in the storage 15 or the like.

The delivery date setting unit 111 executes various processes related to setting the delivery date. For example, the delivery date setting unit 111 is configured to set and change the delivery date in response to a request from a user via the user terminal 30.

The product information presentation unit 112 executes various processes related to the presentation of product information managed in the product information table TA1. For example, the product information presentation unit 112 is configured to transmit screen data of a screen displaying product information for each of a plurality of products to the user terminal 30 in response to a request from the user via the user terminal 30. In addition, when the delivery date set or changed by the delivery date setting unit 111 corresponds to a discount application date, the product information presentation unit 112 is configured to transmit screen data of a screen displaying the discounted sales price instead of or in addition to the normal sales price for the delivery date to the user terminal 30.

The order reception unit 113 executes various processes related to the reception of orders. For example, the order reception unit 113 is configured to receive an order for a product selected by a user via the user terminal 30. The reception of an order includes management of the status of the order and management of home delivery of the product.

The user terminal 30 has a configuration as a general computer. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 1, the user terminal 30 includes a computer processor 31 configured as a CPU or GPU, a main memory 32 configured from DRAM or the like and temporarily storing data and programs, an input/output interface 33 for exchanging information with a user or the like, a communication interface 34 for controlling wired or wireless communication, and a storage 35 configured from a magnetic disk, flash memory or the like and storing data and programs. The computer processor 31 loads a program stored in the storage 35 or the like into the main memory 32 and executes instructions included in the program.

The input/output interface 33 includes, for example, information input devices such as a keyboard, mouse, and touch panel, an audio input device such as a microphone, an image input device such as a camera, an image output device such as a display, and an audio output device such as a speaker. The communication I/F 34 is implemented as hardware such as a network adapter, various communication software, or a combination of these.

The user terminal 30 is configured as, for example, a smartphone, a tablet terminal, or a personal computer. The user terminal 30 displays various screens through communication with the server 10 via a web browser or other applications installed in the storage 35, etc.

Next, the operation of the server 10 of this embodiment configured as described above will be described. FIG. 5 is a flow chart illustrating the process executed by the server 10 in response to a user logging in to the product home delivery service. When a user logs in, the server 10 first performs an initial setting of the delivery date for the corresponding user's order, as shown in the figure (step ST100). Specifically, tomorrow's date is set as the initial delivery date. The initially set delivery date is registered as the delivery date in the order management table TA2.

Next, the server 10 accepts the user's selection of the product to be ordered (step ST102). The product selection is accepted via a screen displayed on the user terminal 30.

Figure 6 shows an example of a product selection screen 50 displayed on the user terminal 30. As shown in the figure, the screen 50 has a delivery date display area 51 that displays the delivery date, a cart amount display area 52 that displays the total sales price of the products in the cart (products selected by the user as products to be ordered), a cart object 53 that has the appearance of a shopping cart, a product category selection area 54, and a product information display area 56. As shown in the figure, the cart object 53 is configured to display the number of products in the cart ("5" in the example of Figure 6) in its upper right part. In addition, text according to the status of the corresponding order is displayed below the cart object 53. In the example of Figure 6, the order status is "Order not confirmed", and the corresponding text "Go to register" is displayed.

The delivery date display area 51 is configured to allow the delivery date registered in the order management table TA2 to be changed in response to a user operation. For example, when the delivery date display area 51 is selected by a user, a delivery date input area is displayed overlaid. This area has the shape of a speech bubble extending from the delivery date display area 51, and multiple consecutive dates corresponding to a specific period (for example, one week from today) are arranged vertically.

In response to an operation on the delivery date display area 51, the delivery date setting unit 111 changes the delivery date, and in response to the change in the delivery date, the order receiving unit 113 can change the sales price of one or more products included in the order all at once.

The product category selection area 54 is configured to allow the selection of product categories (e.g., meat, fish, seasonings, etc.) to be displayed in the product information display area 56 in tab format. When a specific product category is selected via this area 54, the products displayed in the product information display area 56 are switched to those belonging to the selected category.

The product information display area 56 has one or more individual display areas 561 arranged vertically, each displaying information about an individual product. Figure 7 shows an example of the configuration of the individual display area 561. As shown in the figure, the area 561 displays a product photo, product name, sales price, etc., and also has a quantity input area 5611 for inputting the order quantity. When the order quantity is input via the area 5611, the product corresponding to the input quantity is added to the shopping cart. In response to the addition to the shopping cart, information about the added product is registered in the ordered product management table TA3, and the total amount in the order management table TA2 is updated.

The sales price displayed in the individual display area 561 is the regular sales price or discounted sales price in the product information table TA1. As described above, in this embodiment, some of the multiple products have a discounted sales price set according to the delivery date, and either the regular sales price or the discounted sales price is applied depending on the delivery date. The individual display area 561 illustrated in FIG. 7 corresponds to the case where the regular sales price is applied, and the regular sales price of "¥322 (¥348 including tax)" is displayed in this area 561.

On the other hand, the individual display area 561 shown in FIG. 8 corresponds to the case where a discounted sales price is applied, and the change (discount) from the regular sales price to the discounted sales price (¥198 (¥214 including tax)) is shown in the area 561, as shown by "¥322 → ¥198 (¥214 including tax)."

The acceptance of product selection via the product selection screen 50 is repeated until the order is confirmed (NO in step ST104). The order is confirmed via a cart product confirmation screen 60, as exemplified in FIG. 9, for confirming the products in the shopping cart. The screen 60 is displayed on the user terminal 30 in response to the selection of the cart object 53 on the product selection screen 50, and as shown in the figure, has a change delivery date button 61 for changing the delivery date, an order confirmation button 62 for confirming the order, an order information display area 63 for displaying basic information regarding the order, and a product information display area 65 for displaying information regarding the products in the cart. In this embodiment, the change delivery date button 61 is configured so that it cannot be selected before the order is confirmed.

The order information display area 63 displays the number of items included in the order, the points (total quantity), and the total selling price of the items. The example in Figure 9 corresponds to a case where the order status is "Order not yet confirmed," and the text "Please confirm your order" is displayed in the order information display area 63.

The product information display area 65 has one or more individual display areas 651 arranged vertically, each displaying information about an individual product (product in the cart). Figure 10 shows an example of the configuration of an individual display area 651. As shown, this area 651 displays a product photo, product name, sales price, etc., and also has a quantity input area 6511 for displaying and inputting the order quantity. The user can confirm and change the order quantity via this area 6511. In response to a change in the order quantity, the total amount in the order management table TA2 and the quantity in the ordered product management table TA3 are updated.

When the user selects the order confirmation button 62, the order is confirmed and the status changes from "Order not confirmed" to "Order confirmed."

Returning to the flowchart of FIG. 5, once the order has been confirmed in this manner (YES in step ST104), the server 10 then waits until the order deadline to accept any changes to the delivery date and product (NO in step ST106, and in steps ST108 and ST112). FIG. 11 illustrates an example of the product selection screen 50 when the order status is "Order Confirmed." In this case, as shown, the text "Confirmed" is displayed below the cart object 53, instead of the text "Go to checkout."

When the order status is "Order Confirmed", changes to products (addition, deletion, and quantity change) are made via the product selection screen 50, specifically by inputting/changing the order quantity via the quantity input area 5611 of the individual display area 561. Returning to the flowchart of FIG. 5, when a product is changed in this way (YES in step ST108), the order confirmation is cancelled (step ST110) and the process returns to accepting the product selection (step ST102). In response to the change in product, the total amount in the order management table TA2 and the product ID/quantity in the order product management table TA3 are updated, and in response to the cancellation of the order confirmation, the status in the order management table TA2 is changed from "Order Confirmed" to "Order Not Confirmed".

Furthermore, when the order status is "Order Confirmed", the delivery date can be changed via the in-cart product confirmation screen 60. FIG. 12 shows an example of the in-cart product confirmation screen 60 when the order status is "Order Confirmed". In this case, as shown in the figure, the text "Your order has been confirmed" is displayed in the order information display area 63 instead of the text "Please confirm your order".

As described above, the change delivery date button 61 on the in-cart product confirmation screen 60 is configured so that it cannot be selected before the order is confirmed, but is configured so that it can be selected after the order is confirmed. When the button 61 is selected by the user, a delivery date input area 611 is displayed on top of it, as shown in FIG. 13. The area 611 has the shape of a speech bubble extending from the change delivery date button 61, and multiple consecutive dates corresponding to a specified period (e.g., one week from today) are arranged vertically.

The delivery date input area 611 is configured to display the number of items and total amount of the corresponding order on the delivery date if there is a delivery date during the displayed period that corresponds to a closed order. In this embodiment, the order deadline is 10:00 AM on the delivery date, and in the example of FIG. 13, the current date and time is the afternoon of "01/19 (Sat)". As a result, orders for the delivery date "01/19 (Sat)" have closed, and the number of items (4 items) and total amount (4,608 yen) are displayed.

The delivery date input area 611 is also configured to display the number of items in the corresponding order and the text "On Order" for the delivery date if there is a delivery date during the displayed period for which the items have been confirmed but not yet closed. In the example of FIG. 13, the order with the delivery date "01/20 (Sun)" is such an order that is on order.

When the user selects one of the selectable dates (a date other than the delivery date of the order being placed and before the deadline) from among the dates displayed in the delivery date input area 611, a delivery date change confirmation screen 70 as shown in FIG. 14 is displayed. As shown in the figure, the screen 70 indicates that a change in the delivery date may result in a change/cancellation of the product's sales price, and displays the delivery dates before and after the change, and has a delivery date change confirmation button 72 for confirming the change in the delivery date, and a product information display area 75. The product information display area 75 has one or more individual display areas 751 arranged vertically, each of which displays information about an individual product (product in the cart). The area 751 displays a product photo, product name, sales price, order quantity, etc., as shown in FIG. 15. In this embodiment, the sales price displayed here is the price corresponding to the delivery date after the change. Note that in other embodiments of the present invention, the individual display area 751 displays the sales price corresponding to the delivery date before the change, or displays both of these sales prices.

As described above, changes to the delivery date and product will be accepted until the order deadline. Then, as described above, orders will be closed at 10:00 a.m. on the delivery date (YES in step ST112). After the order deadline, preparations for home delivery of the product will begin.

While the above-described embodiment applies either the regular or discounted sales price depending on a given delivery date, other embodiments of the present invention are configured to vary the product sales price using other rules based on the delivery date.

In the product delivery service provided by the server 10 according to the embodiment of the present invention described above, the sales price of the product varies based on the set delivery date, making it possible to discount the sales price according to the delivery date, for example. In this way, the server 10 supports discounts on the sales price of the product in the product delivery service that delivers ordered products to the customer's home.
