Description

The present invention relates to a pants-type absorbent article.

Conventionally, there is known a pants-type absorbent article that has a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. Patent Document 1 discloses a disposable absorbent article 10 that has leg markings 28 that serve as guides for inserting the legs, making it easier to confirm the position of the leg openings 25 when worn.

If the wearer of the absorbent article described in Patent Document 1 is, for example, a visually impaired person or an elderly person with reduced eyesight, it is difficult for them to see the leg opening marker 28, and they are unable to accurately recognize the position of the leg opening 25, and there is a risk that they will get their legs caught around the leg opening 25 before passing their legs through it.

The present invention was made in consideration of the above-mentioned problems with the conventional absorbent article, and its purpose is to provide an absorbent article that makes it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings when putting on the absorbent article.

The main invention to achieve the above object is:
In a natural state, the vertical direction, the horizontal direction, and the front-rear direction intersect with each other,

The present invention provides a pants-type absorbent article that allows the wearer to easily insert their legs toward the leg openings.

This pants-type absorbent article has, in its natural state, vertical, horizontal, and front-to-back directions which intersect with each other, and is equipped with a ventral waist portion, a rear waist portion, and a crotch portion, the crotch portion being folded in half in the front-to-back direction at a fold line at its lower end, and has a waist opening and a pair of leg openings, wherein the side end portion of the ventral waist portion and the side end portion of the rear waist portion are joined at a joint, and on one side of the left-to-right direction, the smaller angle formed by a straight line connecting the inner end of the lower end of the joint in the left-to-right direction and the outer end of the fold line in the left-to-right direction and a straight line along the up-to-down direction is greater than or equal to 45 degrees and less than 90 degrees.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, when putting on the absorbent article, the wearer can see that the length in the left-right direction from the inner end of the lower end of the joint in the left-right direction to the outer end of the fold line in the left-right direction is longer than the length in the up-down direction, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings.

In addition, a pants-type absorbent article has, in its natural state, vertical, horizontal, and front-to-back directions that intersect with one another, a ventral waistline portion, a rear waistline portion, and a crotch portion, the crotch portion being folded in half in the front-to-back direction at a fold line at the lower end, a waistline opening and a pair of leg openings, the side end of the ventral waistline portion and the side end of the rear waistline portion being joined at a joint, the article has an absorbent body, the absorbent body is folded in half in the front-to-back direction at the absorbent body fold line at the lower end, and on one side of the left-to-right direction, the smaller angle between a straight line connecting the inner end of the lower end of the joint in the left-to-right direction and the outer end of the absorbent body fold line in the left-to-right direction and a straight line along the up-to-down direction is 45 degrees or more and less than 90 degrees.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, when putting on the absorbent article, the wearer can make the left-right length longer than the up-down length in the area from the inner left-right end of the lower end of the joint to the outer left-right end of the absorbent body fold line, making it easier for the wearer to insert their legs toward the leg openings.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, it is desirable that the leg-gathered portion is stretchable in the up-down direction on one side in the left-right direction, the leg-gathered portion is folded in half in the front-to-rear direction at a gather fold line at the lower end, and the smaller angle between a straight line connecting the inner end of the lower end of the joint in the left-right direction and the uppermost end of the gather fold line and a straight line along the up-down direction is 45 degrees or more and less than 90 degrees.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, when putting on the absorbent article, the wearer can make the length in the left-right direction longer than the length in the up-down direction from the inner end in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint to the uppermost end of the gather fold line, making it easier for the wearer to insert their legs toward the leg openings.

It is desirable for such pants-type absorbent article to have an absorbent body, and to have a vertical stretch area that stretches in the vertical direction on the non-skin side of the absorbent body in the crotch area.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, the vertical stretchable regions make it easier to pull the crotch area upwards, and the opening angle can be brought closer to 90 degrees, making it easier to put the legs through the leg openings.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, in at least one of the ventral waistband portion or the rear waistband portion, the absorbent body preferably has a predetermined basis weight region with a predetermined basis weight of liquid absorbent fibers and a low basis weight region with less liquid absorbent fibers than the predetermined basis weight region, and has a portion where the vertical stretch region and the low basis weight region overlap in the front-rear direction.

In this type of pants-type absorbent article, the vertical stretchable regions that overlap the low basis weight regions in the front-to-rear direction shrink more vertically than the specified basis weight region, making it easier to pull the crotch area upwards, and the opening angle can be brought closer to 90 degrees, making it easier to put the legs through the leg openings.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, the vertical stretchable regions are provided on the ventral side and the dorsal side across the fold line, and it is desirable that the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region on the ventral side is longer than the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region on the dorsal side.

When wearing such pants-type absorbent articles, the wearer generally tries to put their legs in toward the front, but the upper and lower stretchable regions make the crotch part on the ventral side more likely to shrink than the dorsal side, which makes it easier for the leg openings to curve toward the front, making it easier for the shape of the leg openings to correspond to the movement of the wearer's legs, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, it is desirable that the vertical length of the rear waistband is longer than the vertical length of the ventral waistband, the vertical stretchable regions are provided on the ventral and rear sides across the fold line, and the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region on the rear side is longer than the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region on the ventral side.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, even if the vertical length of the rear waistband is longer than the vertical length of the ventral waistband, the vertical stretchable regions make the rear crotch portion more likely to shrink than the ventral crotch portion, making it easier for the rear waistband to curve toward the non-skin side, reducing the risk of the wearer's heels coming into contact with the ventral waistband when wearing the absorbent article.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, it is desirable that the absorbent body is provided in an absorbent main body, and in at least one of the ventral waist portion or the dorsal waist portion, a left-right stretchable region that is stretchable in the left-right direction is provided in the outer body below the lower end of the joint and above the fold line, and that the absorbent main body and the left-right stretchable region have a portion where they overlap in the front-to-rear direction.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, the left-right stretchable regions provided on the ventral waistband or the dorsal waistband pull the absorbent body in the left-right direction, reducing the risk of the crotch area moving downward.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, it is desirable that at least one of the ventral waist portion or the dorsal waist portion has a portion where the vertical stretchable region and the horizontal stretchable region overlap in the front-rear direction.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, the vertical stretchable regions that overlap the left-right stretchable regions in the front-rear direction make it easier to pull the absorbent upwards, and the opening angle can be brought closer to 90 degrees, making it easier to put the legs through the leg openings.

It is desirable for such a pants-type absorbent article to have an absorbent body, and for the length of the absorbent body in the left-right direction at the fold line to be shorter than the longest part of the absorbent body that has the longest length in the left-right direction.

With such pants-type absorbent articles, the length of the leg openings in the left-right direction can be made longer, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, it is desirable that the narrowest part of the absorbent body, which has the shortest length in the left-right direction, is located on the ventral side of the fold line.

When wearing such pants-type absorbent articles, the wearer generally tries to insert his/her legs toward the front, so by providing the narrowest part of the absorbent body at the front, the length of the leg openings on the ventral side in the left-right direction can be made longer, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, in a stretched state, it is desirable that, on one side of the left-right direction, the joint is arranged in a straight line from the upper end to the lower end of the side end of the ventral waist portion and the side end of the dorsal waist portion, and that the lower end of the joint is located on one side of the left-right direction from the upper end of the joint.

In such pants-type absorbent articles, the lower end of the joint is located on the other side in the left-right direction, which makes it possible to increase the length of the leg openings in the left-right direction, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings.

In such a pants-type absorbent article, when a line segment connecting the inner end in the left-right direction of the upper end of the joint portion and the inner end in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint portion on one side in the left-right direction in a natural state is defined as a joint line segment, the upper end of the joint line segment is located on the other side in the left-right direction than the lower end of the joint line segment, and it is desirable that the angle formed by the line segment connecting the inner end in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint portion and the outer end in the left-right direction of the fold line and the joint line segment is greater than 90 degrees.

With such a pants-type absorbent article, even if the upper end of the joint line is located on the other side in the left-right direction than the lower end of the joint line, the angle between the joint line and the line connecting the inner end of the lower end of the joint in the left-right direction and the outer end of the fold line in the left-right direction is 90 degrees or less, so that the leg openings can be more easily seen when the wearer looks at the leg openings from the waist opening side while wearing the article, than in the case where the angle between the joint line and the line connecting the inner end of the lower end of the joint in the left-right direction and the outer end of the fold line is 90 degrees or less.
First Embodiment

The following describes an embodiment of the pants-type absorbent article according to the present invention, taking a pants-type disposable diaper for adults as an example. However, the pants-type absorbent article according to the present invention is not limited to the above, and can also be applied to pants-type disposable diapers for infants, shorts-type sanitary napkins, etc.

<Configuration of pants-type disposable diaper 1>
First, the structure of a pants-type disposable diaper 1 (hereinafter referred to as "diaper") as an example of a pants-type absorbent article will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 3. Figs.

Figure 1 is a schematic front view of a pants-type disposable diaper 1 according to the first embodiment in a natural state, as viewed from the abdominal side. Figure 2 is a schematic plan view of a diaper 1 according to the first embodiment in an unfolded and stretched state, as viewed from the skin side. Figure 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line A-A in Figure 2.

In the natural state as shown in Fig. 1, the diaper 1 has a "vertical direction", a "left-right direction" perpendicular to the vertical direction, and a "front-rear direction" perpendicular to the vertical and left-right directions. In the vertical direction, the upper side corresponds to the wearer's waist opening side, and the lower side corresponds to the wearer's crotch side. In the front-rear direction, the front side corresponds to the wearer's abdomen side, and the rear side corresponds to the wearer's back side.

The "natural state" refers to the state of the diaper 1 when it is left for a predetermined period of time. For example, the diaper 1 is taken out of the package in a finished state, and the rear waist portion 11 is pulled outward in both the left and right directions to put the waist portion 11 in a "stretched state." This stretched state is continued for 15 seconds, after which the tension on the diaper 1 is released and the diaper 1 is placed on a flat surface such as a desk. The state in which the diaper 1 is left lying flat in this manner for 5 minutes is considered to be the natural state.

As shown in FIG. 1, the pants-type diaper 1 has a vertical direction, a left-right direction, and a front-rear direction that is perpendicular to the vertical and left-right directions. The diaper 1 is formed with a waist opening BH and a pair of leg openings LH. In the vertical direction, the waist opening BH side is the upper side, and the leg openings LH and the side that corresponds to the wearer's crotch are the lower side.

Because the diaper 1 in its natural state is soft and uses multiple elastic members, it may be difficult to accurately and uniformly capture its shape. Therefore, to obtain a more accurate left-right direction, a line (regression line) that can be considered to be a straight line along the left-right direction can be obtained by the least squares method using multiple reference points (e.g., each point divided into 10 equal parts) at the upper end of the back waistband portion 11R for the diaper 1 laid flat on a flat surface. The direction along this straight line (regression line) that can be considered to be a straight line along the left-right direction is the left-right direction, and the direction perpendicular to the obtained left-right direction is the up-down direction.

In the unfolded and stretched state shown in FIG. 2, the diaper 1 has three mutually orthogonal directions: a longitudinal direction, a left-right direction, and a thickness direction (a direction penetrating the paper in FIG. 2). The longitudinal direction is along the above-mentioned vertical direction, with one side in the longitudinal direction corresponding to the ventral side (front side), and the other side corresponding to the dorsal side (rear side). The outer side in the longitudinal direction corresponds to the upper side in the vertical direction (the waist opening side), and the inner side in the longitudinal direction corresponds to the lower side in the vertical direction (the crotch side). Hereinafter, the longitudinal direction of the diaper 1 in the unfolded and stretched state is also referred to as the vertical direction. Meanwhile, the left-right direction is synonymous with the left-right direction in the pants-type state described above. In addition, with respect to the thickness direction, one side is the skin side that contacts the wearer's body, and the other side is the opposite non-skin side (see FIG. 3). The thickness direction in the unfolded and stretched state corresponds to the front-back direction in the natural state.

The "unfolded state" refers to the state in which the diaper 1 in the pants-type state shown in FIG. 1 is untied at both the left and right sides to separate it into a ventral waist section 11F and a rear waist section 11R, which will be described later, and the diaper 1 is opened vertically to unfold the diaper 1 on a flat surface. The "stretched state" refers to the state in which the diaper 1 is stretched without wrinkles, specifically, the state in which the dimensions of each component constituting the diaper 1 (e.g., the outer body 10 and absorbent body 20, which will be described later, etc.) are stretched to the extent that they match or are close to the dimensions of the individual components.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the diaper 1 is a so-called two-piece type, and has an outer body 10 and an absorbent body 20 that absorbs excrement such as urine. In the following description, a two-piece type pants-type diaper 1 will be described, but the diaper may also be a so-called three-piece type disposable diaper in which the ventral waist portion and the rear waist portion are arranged as separate bodies.

The outer body 10 has a waist portion 11 located around the waist of the wearer and a crotch portion 12 located under the crotch of the wearer. The waist portion 11 also has a ventral waist portion 11F that covers the ventral side of the wearer and a back waist portion 11R that covers the back side of the wearer. As shown in FIG. 2, the upper end and side end of the ventral waist portion 11F are the upper end and side end of the sheet (the front outer back sheet 120F described later) that forms the outline of the outer body 10 on the ventral side, and the lower end is the position of the line UL1 that connects the intersections of the outer body 10 and the absorbent main body 20 on the ventral side. The area surrounded by the upper end, the side end, the curved or straight portion connecting the lower end of the side end to the line UL1, and the above-mentioned lower end is the ventral waist portion 11F. The upper and side ends of the rear waist portion 11R are the upper and side ends of the sheet (rear outer back sheet 120R described below) that forms the outer shape of the exterior body 10 on the rear side, and the lower end is the position of line UL2 that connects the intersections of the rear exterior body 10 and the absorbent body 20. The area surrounded by the upper end, the side ends, the curved or straight portion connecting the lower end of the side end to line UL2, and the lower end described above is the rear waist portion 11R. The crotch portion 12 is the area interposed between the ventral waist portion 11F and the rear waist portion 11R.

In the unfolded and stretched state of the diaper 1, the ventral waist portion 11F is located at one end of the absorbent body 20 in the longitudinal direction, and the back waist portion 11R is located at the other end of the absorbent body 20 in the longitudinal direction. The ventral waist portion 11F and the back waist portion 11R each have a pair of side ends 13F and a pair of side ends 13R, and have a joint portion 13FR that joins the side ends 13F and the side ends 13R. The diaper 1 in the unfolded state is folded in half at a fold line CL provided at approximately the center of the longitudinal direction of the diaper 1, i.e., the crotch portion 12, and joined at the joint portion 13FR to form the pants-type disposable diaper 1 shown in FIG. 1. The diaper 1 in the unfolded and stretched state shown in FIG. 2 is made pants-type by facing and joining the ventral joint portion 13FR and the back joint portion 13FR. The diaper 1 is joined at the joint 13FR by providing an elliptical ultrasonic joint in a linear fashion, but any known joining method such as adhesive or welding can be used, and the joint shape is not limited to an elliptical shape and can be any shape, such as a rectangular shape.

In addition, in the unfolded and stretched state shown in Figure 2, the fold line CL is a straight line along the left-right direction, but in the natural state shown in Figure 1, it refers to the lowest end of the diaper 1 that has a folded-over portion, and the fold line of each member below refers to the lowest end of each member that has a folded-over portion.

<Configuration of exterior body 10>
As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the exterior body 10 has an exterior top sheet 110, a front exterior back sheet 120F, a rear exterior back sheet 120R, a ventral waist elastic member 130F, a rear waist elastic member 130R, and left and right stretchable regions 140.

The exterior topsheet 110 is disposed from the ventral waistline 11F through the crotch portion 12 to the dorsal waistline 11R (Fig. 3). The width (length in the left-right direction) of the exterior topsheet 110 in the ventral waistline 11F and dorsal waistline 11R is greater than the width (length in the left-right direction) of the exterior topsheet 110 in the crotch portion 12 (Fig. 2). The exterior topsheet 110 can be formed from an air-through nonwoven fabric, a spunbond nonwoven fabric, an SMS nonwoven fabric (spunbond meltblown spunbond nonwoven fabric), a waterproof film, etc.

As shown in FIG. 3, the front exterior backsheet 120F is provided on the non-skin side of the exterior topsheet 110 in the abdominal waistline portion 11F. The outer end (upper end) of the front exterior backsheet 120F in the longitudinal direction is folded back toward the skin. This folded-back portion of the front exterior backsheet 120F envelops one end (outer end) of the exterior topsheet 110 in the longitudinal direction. Note that the outer end (upper end) of the front exterior backsheet 120F in the longitudinal direction may not be folded back.

Similarly, as shown in FIG. 3, the rear exterior backsheet 120R is provided on the non-skin side of the exterior topsheet 110 in the rear waistband portion 11R. The outer end (upper end) of the rear exterior backsheet 120R in the longitudinal direction is folded back toward the skin. This folded-back portion of the rear exterior backsheet 120R envelops the other end (outer end) of the exterior topsheet 110 in the longitudinal direction. Note that the outer end (upper end) of the front exterior backsheet 120F in the longitudinal direction may not be folded back.

The front exterior backsheet 120F and the rear exterior backsheet 120R can be made of air-through nonwoven fabric, spunbond nonwoven fabric, SMS nonwoven fabric (spunbond meltblown spunbond nonwoven fabric), etc.

The ventral waist elastic member 130F is provided between the exterior top sheet 110 and the front exterior back sheet 120F in the ventral waist portion 11F (see FIG. 3). The ventral waist elastic member 130F is, for example, a plurality of rubber threads. The ventral waist elastic member 130F is joined and fixed with an adhesive such as a hot melt adhesive along the left-right direction while being stretched in the same direction. The ventral waist elastic member 130F gives the ventral waist portion 11F stretchability in the left-right direction.

The back waist elastic member 130R is provided in the back waist portion 11R between the exterior top sheet 110 and the rear exterior back sheet 120R (see FIG. 3). The back waist elastic member 130R is, for example, a plurality of rubber threads. The back waist elastic member 130R is joined and fixed with an adhesive such as a hot melt adhesive along the left-right direction while being stretched in the same direction. The back waist elastic member 130R gives the back waist portion 11R stretchability in the left-right direction.

2, it is preferable to have a left-right stretchable region 140 that is stretchable in the left-right direction below the lower end of the joint 13FR and above the fold line CL. In this embodiment, the left-right stretchable region 140 is provided between the exterior top sheet 110 and the rear exterior back sheet 120R in the back waist portion 11R. Specifically, the left-right stretchable region 140 has a curved portion 140c that is curved diagonally downward from both side ends 13R of the back waist portion 11R in the left-right direction toward the inside of the longitudinal direction and the inside of the left-right direction of the back waist portion 11R, and a straight portion 140s that is arranged along the left-right direction in the center of the left-right direction, and can stretch in the left-right direction as the left-right stretchable region 140. The left-right stretchable region 140 is, for example, a region in which a contraction force is exerted by an elastic member such as a plurality of rubber threads or a band-shaped elastic sheet having elasticity. For example, in the diaper 1, the left-right stretchable region 140 is between the outermost rubber threads in the up-down direction of the plurality of rubber threads. The left-right stretchable region 140 is fixed in place with an adhesive such as a hot melt adhesive while in a stretched state.

It is more preferable that the left-right stretchable region 140 has a portion that overlaps with the absorbent body 20 in the thickness direction. This is because the left-right stretchable region 140 provided in the back waist portion 11R can pull the portion that overlaps with the absorbent body 20 in the thickness direction in the left-right direction. This reduces the risk of the crotch portion 12 sagging downward, and also makes it possible to shorten the length of the crotch portion 12 in the vertical direction.

<Configuration of absorbent body 20>
The absorbent body 20 is provided on the skin side of the exterior body 10 (see FIG. 3 ). The absorbent body 20 also has a liquid-absorbent body (absorbent core) 21, a core wrap sheet 22 that covers the outer peripheral surface of the absorbent body 21, a top sheet 23, a film sheet 24, and a back sheet 25.

The absorbent body 21 is provided on the skin side in the thickness direction of the outer body 10 at least in the crotch portion 12. The absorbent body 21 extends along the longitudinal direction and has a narrowed portion on the inside in the left-right direction, and has a longest portion 21a with the longest length in the left-right direction at the end on the ventral side and the end on the back side in the longitudinal direction, and has a narrowest portion 21b with the shortest length in the left-right direction between the longest portion 21a on the ventral side and the fold line CL, and between the longest portion 21a on the back side and the fold line CL. In this embodiment, the longest portion 21a on the ventral side and the longest portion 21a on the back side have approximately the same left-right length, and the narrowest portion 21b on the ventral side and the narrowest portion 21b on the back side have approximately the same left-right length. In addition, when the diaper 1 is folded in half at the fold line CL, the absorbent body 21 is folded in half in the front-rear direction at the absorbent body fold line 21L. That is, as shown in FIG. 2, the fold line CL and the absorbent body fold line 21L overlap in the thickness direction.

The absorbent body 21 is a member formed by laminating liquid-absorbent materials, and is capable of absorbing urine and other excrement. Examples of the liquid-absorbent material that can be used include liquid-absorbent fibers such as pulp fibers, and highly absorbent polymers. The shape of the absorbent body 21 is not necessarily limited to the shape shown in FIG. 2, which extends along the longitudinal direction and has a narrowed portion on the inside in the left-right direction, but may be, for example, a generally rectangular shape when viewed from above.

The absorbent 21 of the diaper 1 is provided with a liquid absorbent fiber of a predetermined basis weight (predetermined basis weight region). "Basis weight" refers to mass per unit area (g/m2), and is calculated, for example, by cutting the absorbent 21 into a predetermined shape and size and measuring the weight using an electronic balance or the like. The absorbent 21 is formed so that the basis weight is approximately uniform over almost the entire area. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 2, a central low basis weight region 50 is provided along the longitudinal direction in the center of the absorbent 21 in the left-right direction, and a pair of side low basis weight regions 55 are provided along the longitudinal direction on the left-right outer side of the absorbent 21 than the central low basis weight region 50. The central low basis weight region 50 and the pair of side low basis weight regions 55 are low basis weight regions with less liquid absorbent fiber than a predetermined basis weight, and in this embodiment, they are slits penetrating in the thickness direction. The central low basis weight region 50 and the side low basis weight region 55 have low basis weight liquid absorbent fiber, and therefore have lower rigidity than the region of the predetermined basis weight. Therefore, when worn, the absorbent body 21 is more likely to bend along the central low basis weight region 50 and the pair of side low basis weight regions 55, making it easier for unevenness to form in the absorbent body 21. As a result, not only does the diaper 1 fit the crotch area and allow for easier movement, but the appearance (appearance) when worn is also further improved.

Examples of suitable materials for the core wrap sheet 25 include tissue paper and nonwoven fabric. However, these core wrap sheets 25 are not essential components.

The top sheet 23 is a sheet that forms a skin contact surface that can come into direct contact with the wearer's skin, and is, for example, a liquid-permeable nonwoven fabric with a planar size larger than the absorbent body 21. The film sheet 24 is a sheet-like member that covers the absorbent body 21 from the non-skin side, and is a sheet with a planar size larger than the absorbent body 21. An example of the film sheet 24 is a liquid-impermeable leakproof sheet made of polyethylene, polypropylene, or the like.

The back sheet 25 is a liquid-impermeable sheet that covers the absorbent body 21 from the non-skin side. The dimension of the back sheet 25 in the left-right direction is sufficiently larger than that of the film sheet 24, and both ends in the left-right direction are folded back to the center side (inside) in the left-right direction, with the positions that form the left-right ends 20e of the absorbent body 20 as folding positions. In addition, when folding back, the back sheet 25 is folded back so as to sandwich both ends in the left-right direction of the film sheet 24. In the vicinity of the folding position, leg-around elastic members 26 such as thread rubber are fixed in a state stretched in the longitudinal direction along the longitudinal direction, thereby imparting elasticity to the leg-around and forming leg-around gathers LG. The leg-around gathers LG are the region of the absorbent body 20 that is outside the absorbent body 21 in the left-right direction. In addition, by folding the diaper 1 in two at the folding line CL, the leg-around gathers LG are folded in two in the front-rear direction at the gathering fold line LGL. In other words, as shown in FIG. 2, the fold line CL and the gather fold line LGL overlap in the thickness direction.

As shown in FIG. 2 and other figures, the diaper 1 preferably has a vertical stretchable region 30 (shown by a diagonal line slanting downwards to the left) in the center of the left-right direction, which is composed of a plurality of central stretchable members 31 such as rubber threads arranged along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent 21. The central stretchable member 31 is provided on the non-skin side of the absorbent 21 in the thickness direction, and in this embodiment, it is provided between the film sheet 24 and the back sheet 25. The vertical stretchable region 30 refers to a region formed along the longitudinal direction by two central stretchable members 31. The central stretchable member 31 may be provided on the skin side of the film sheet 24 and on the non-skin side of the film sheet 24 and the absorbent 21. In this embodiment, the central stretchable member 31 is two rubber threads, but the number of members is not limited to this, and may be one or more than two, and may be, for example, a band-shaped elastic sheet having stretchability, and the vertical stretchable region 30 may be a region in which a contraction force is exerted by the central stretchable member 31. When there are multiple central elastic members 31, the left-right length between the outermost elastic members in the left-right direction is the left-right length of the vertical elastic region 30, and the length between the outermost elastic members in the left-right direction of the multiple central elastic members 31 is the vertical elastic region 30. The longitudinal length of the vertical elastic region 30 is the effective length of the central elastic member 31. When there is a single central elastic member 31 or the central elastic member 31 is in the form of a sheet, the left-right length of each elastic member or sheet is the left-right length of the vertical elastic region 30, and the effective length of each elastic member or sheet is the longitudinal length of the vertical elastic region 30.

The vertical stretchable region 30 formed by the central stretchable member 31 imparts longitudinal stretchability to the diaper 1, particularly to the crotch portion, making it easier to pull up the crotch portion 12. This improves the fit of the crotch portion and shortens the vertical length of the crotch portion 12.

<When a wearer puts on the diaper 1>
FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram showing the state when the leg openings LH are viewed from the waist opening BH. Generally, when a wearer is going to put on the diaper 1 by himself, he opens the waist opening BH with his hands, and as shown in FIG. 4, he checks the leg openings LH from the waist opening BH and checks the position where the legs are inserted. By checking the position where the legs are inserted, the wearer recognizes the path of the legs to insert the legs into the waist opening BH, pass through the leg openings LH, and completely pass the legs through. However, in the conventional disposable diapers, for example, in the case of a wearer who is visually impaired or an elderly person with reduced eyesight, it is difficult to accurately recognize the position of the leg openings BH, and there is a risk that the wearer will get the legs caught on the exterior body or the absorbent body when wearing the diaper. Note that the dimensions of the leg openings LH viewed from the waist opening BH shown in FIG. 4 are almost the same as the dimensions of the diaper 1 in its natural state shown in FIG. 1.

In contrast, the diaper 1 having the following configuration allows the wearer to easily put the legs through the leg openings LH when wearing the diaper 1, making it easier to wear the diaper 1. The "leg openings LH" refer to the annular opening formed by connecting the inner end 13S on the ventral side and the inner end 13S on the dorsal side of the diaper 1 in the unfolded and stretched state shown in FIG. 2, and in this embodiment, refers to the portion partitioned by the exterior body 10. The left-right length H of the leg openings LH when worn is the left-right length W of the area that penetrates in the vertical direction when the leg openings LH are viewed from the waist opening BH as shown in FIG. 4. The vertical length H (not shown) of the leg openings LH when worn is defined as the upper end of the part where the legs are first visible when the diaper 1 is viewed from the front and rear sides of the diaper 1 when the legs are inserted from the waist opening BH to the leg openings LH, and the lower end of the part where the legs are no longer covered when the diaper 1 is viewed from the front and rear sides. The longer the left-right length of the leg openings LH of the diaper 1 in the unfolded and stretched state, the longer the left-right length of the leg openings LH of the diaper 1 when worn. Note that when the legs inserted from the waist opening BH toward the leg openings LH pass the lower end of the leg openings LH when viewing the diaper 1 from the front and back, the wearer has passed through the leg openings LH.

The leg openings LH will be described with reference to Figure 5. Figure 5 is an enlarged view of part P in Figure 2. On one side of the diaper 1 in the left-right direction (e.g., the left side in Figure 1), a straight line L1 connects the inner end 13S in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint portion 13FR and the outer end CLS in the left-right direction of the fold line CL. The straight line L1 is an imaginary line. Of the angles formed by this straight line L1 and a straight line V along the up-down direction, the smaller angle θ1 is 45 degrees or more and less than 90 degrees (45°≦θ1<90°).

The angle θ1 and each length are measured by the following method. The diaper 1 in its natural state is laid flat, and a transparent acrylic plate is pressed horizontally against the diaper 1 from above the diaper 1. At this time, the pressing pressure (the force applied to the acrylic plate per unit area) for pressing the acrylic plate against the diaper 1 is 61.25 N/ ^m2 . The acrylic plate has a transparency sufficient to allow the diaper 1 to be seen through the acrylic plate, and is a plate of a substantially rectangular shape with a length (vertical direction) of 400 mm, a width (horizontal direction) of 400 mm, and a thickness of 5 mm, and the weight of the acrylic plate is 1 kg. The angle θ1 is obtained by determining the reference point of each straight line on the acrylic plate to specify the imaginary lines L1 and V, and measuring the angle at the intersection point between the lines L1 and V. Specifically, the angle θ1 of the diaper 1 of this embodiment is 47°. The lengths H1 and W1 are also obtained by measuring them in this state. Each angle and each length is measured in the same manner below.

The fold line CL of the diaper 1 is also a fold line of the exterior body 10, and the outer end CLS of the fold line CL in the left-right direction is also the outer end of the fold line of the exterior body 10 in the left-right direction. Note that the outer end CLS of the fold line CL of the diaper 1 in the left-right direction is not necessarily the outer end of the fold line of the exterior body 10 in the left-right direction. If the outer end of the fold line CL of the diaper 1 in the left-right direction is the outer end of the fold line of the absorbent main body 20 in the left-right direction, for example, in a three-piece diaper, where the only member constituting the fold line CL is the absorbent main body, the outer end CLS of the fold line in the left-right direction may be the outer end of the fold line of the absorbent main body in the left-right direction.

As shown in FIG. 5, by setting the angle θ1 to be greater than or equal to 45 degrees and less than 90 degrees, the length H1 in the vertical direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end CLS is shorter than the length W1 in the horizontal direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end CLS (H1<W1). As the angle θ1 approaches 90 degrees from 45 degrees, the difference between the lengths H1 and W1 becomes greater, and the horizontal length of the leg opening LH can be made longer than its vertical length. The longer the horizontal length of the leg opening LH, the easier it is for the wearer to put their legs through the leg opening LH when wearing the garment.

The length W1 in the left-right direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end CLS is longer than the length H1 in the up-down direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end CLS, so that the length in the left-right direction of the leg opening LH is longer. This makes it easier for the wearer to feel that the leg opening LH is larger than the size when viewed from the waist opening BH side as shown in Figure 4, and makes it easier to put the legs through the leg opening LH. In particular, it makes it easier to reduce the risk of the legs getting caught on the side end of the diaper 1 or the leg gathering part LG. In addition, since humans often recognize visual information by comparison, when viewing the leg opening LH from the waist opening BH, the fact that the length in the up-down direction of the leg opening LH is shorter makes it easier to feel that the length in the left-right direction is longer. As a result, the wearer is more likely to feel that the vertical length of the leg openings LH through which the wearer must pass before passing the legs through them is shorter than the horizontal length, making it easier for the wearer to pass the legs through the leg openings LH, and making it easier for the wearer to put on the diaper 1 by himself.

As shown in Fig. 5, a straight line L2 connects the inner end 13S in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint portion 13FR and the outer end 21LS in the left-right direction of the absorbent body fold line 21L on one side of the left-right direction of the diaper 1 in its natural state. The smaller angle θ2 between this straight line L2 and a straight line V along the up-down direction is 45 degrees or more and less than 90 degrees (45°≦θ2<90°). Note that straight lines L2 and V are imaginary lines.

When the angle θ2 is 45 degrees or more and less than 90 degrees, the length H2 in the vertical direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end 21LS can be made shorter than the length W2 in the horizontal direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end 21LS (H2<W2). In this embodiment, the angle θ2 is 46.7°, the length H2 is 117.0 mm, and the length W2 is 124.0 mm.

As shown in FIG. 5, the diaper 1 has an angle θ1<angle θ2, but this is not necessarily limited to this. For example, depending on the form and shape of the diaper 1, such as when the fold line CL is formed by the absorbent body 20, the angle θ1>angle θ2 may be satisfied. Even in such a case (θ1>θ2), the smaller angle θ2 between the straight lines L and V can be set to 45 degrees or more and less than 90 degrees, thereby making the length H2 in the vertical direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end 21LS shorter than the length W2 in the horizontal direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end 21LS.

When the length W2 in the left-right direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end 21LS is longer than the length H2 in the up-down direction between the inner end 13S and the outer end 21LS, the wearer can easily put their legs through the leg openings LH when putting on the diaper, compared to when the length W2 is shorter than the length H2. In particular, when the wearer gets caught on the absorbent body 20 including the absorbent body 21 when putting on the diaper, the wearer's legs tend to push down the absorbent body 20. The absorbent body 21 is the most rigid part not only of the absorbent body 20 but also of the entire diaper 1, so when the absorbent body 20 is caught by the wearer's legs, the absorbent body 21 is pushed down, and as a result, the entire diaper 1 is easily pushed down. In this regard, by making the length W2 of the diaper 1 longer than the length H2, the area of the leg openings LH for passing the legs through when worn becomes wider, which helps to reduce the risk of the wearer's legs getting caught in the absorbent body 20, making it difficult to pull up the diaper 1 to wear it, and reducing the risk of the wearer losing balance. Note that as the angle θ2 approaches 90 degrees from 45 degrees, the difference between the lengths H2 and W2 becomes greater, and the length of the leg openings LH in the left-right direction can be made longer than the length of the leg openings LH in the up-down direction. The longer the length of the leg openings LH in the left-right direction, the easier it is for the wearer to pass the legs through the leg openings LH when wearing the diaper.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 5, a straight line L3 connects the inner end 13S in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint portion 13FR and the uppermost end LGS of the gather fold line LGL on one side in the left-right direction of the diaper 1 in its natural state. The straight line L3 is an imaginary line. It is more preferable that the smaller angle θ3 between the straight line L3 and a straight line V along the up-down direction is 45 degrees or more and less than 90 degrees (45°≦θ3<90°).

When the angle θ3 is greater than or equal to 45 degrees and less than 90 degrees, the length H3 in the vertical direction between the inner end 13S and the upper end LGS can be made shorter than the length W3 in the horizontal direction between the inner end 13S and the upper end LGS (H3<W3). In this embodiment, the angle θ3 is 57.5°, the length H3 is 68.7 mm, and the length W3 is 107.8 mm.

The length W3 in the left-right direction between the inner end 13S and the upper end LGS is longer than the length H3 in the up-down direction between the inner end 13S and the upper end LGS, so that it is easier to pass the legs through the leg openings LH when wearing the diaper than when the length W3 is shorter than the length H3. In particular, if the legs are caught in the leg gathers LG, it is difficult to stretch the leg elastic members 26 of the leg gathers LG with the legs to remove the caught state, and there is a risk that the wearer may lose balance. In this regard, the diaper 1 can be made longer in length W3 than length H3, and the length W in the left-right direction of the leg openings LH when wearing the diaper can be made longer. As a result, the area for passing the legs is wider, which reduces the risk that the wearer's legs will be caught in the leg gathers LG, making it easier to pass the legs through the leg openings LH.

As shown in FIG. 1, on one side of the left-right direction of the diaper 1 in its natural state, a line segment connecting the inner end 13T in the left-right direction of the upper end of the joint portion 13FR and the inner end 13S in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint portion 13FR is defined as a joint line segment S4. The start point and end point of the joint line segment S4 are the inner end 13T and the inner end 12S. It is preferable that the inner end 13T, which is the upper end of this joint line segment S4, is located on the other side in the left-right direction than the inner end 13S, which is the lower end of the joint line segment S4. In other words, it is preferable that the joint line segment S4 has a shape that widens outward in the left-right direction as it moves from the top to the bottom.

When a line segment S1 is defined as connecting the inner end 13S in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint 13FR and the outer end CLS in the left-right direction of the fold line CL, it is more preferable that the angle θ4 between line segment S1 and joint segment S4 is greater than 90 degrees (θ4>90°). The line segment S1 connecting the outer end CLS in the left-right direction of the fold line CL is a line segment of straight line L1 whose start and end points are the inner end 13S in the left-right direction of the lower end of the joint 13FR and the outer end CLS in the left-right direction of the fold line CL.

This improves the fit around the wearer's waist while reducing the risk of excessive tightening around the wearer's waist if the angle θ4 between the line segment S1 and the joining line segment S4 is made smaller than 90 degrees. Also, as shown in FIG. 1, when looking at the diaper 1 in its natural state before being worn, it can be recognized that the outer shapes of the diaper 1, the ventral waist section 11F and the dorsal waist section 11R are inclined so as to widen from the top to the bottom, which makes it easier for the wearer to recognize that the leg openings LH are longer in the left-right direction, and makes it easier for the wearer to recognize that the diaper 1 has leg openings LH that are easy to put the legs through.

In addition, it is preferable that the vertical stretchable regions 30 and the low basis weight region provided in the crotch portion 12 have a portion overlapping in the thickness direction. In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2, the vertical stretchable regions 30 and the central low basis weight region 50 overlap in the thickness direction in the rear circumference portion 11R. Generally, an absorbent body 21 having a predetermined basis weight has high rigidity, but the central low basis weight region 50 has lower rigidity than the predetermined basis weight region, and is therefore easily affected by the contraction force of the vertical stretchable regions 30. Therefore, by having a portion where the vertical stretchable regions 30 and the central low basis weight region 50 overlap in the thickness direction, a stronger vertical contraction force acts on the portion 150, making it easier to pull the crotch portion 12 upward. This makes it easier to bring each of the angles θ1 to θ3 closer to 90 degrees, and the leg openings LH when worn can have a larger horizontal length W than a vertical length H, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings LH.

In this embodiment, the vertical stretchable region 30 is provided in the ventral waistline portion 11F and the dorsal waistline portion 11R, and the vertical stretchable region 30 in the ventral waistline portion 11F is continuous with the vertical stretchable region 30 in the dorsal waistline portion 11R. As shown in FIG. 2, it is preferable that the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region 30F in the ventral waistline portion 11F (ventral side) is longer than the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region 30R in the dorsal waistline portion 11R (dorsal side). Generally, due to the human skeleton, the wearer tries to put his/her legs in toward the front when wearing the garment. At this time, the vertical stretchable region 30F in the ventral waistline portion 11F is more likely to shrink than the vertical stretchable region 30R in the dorsal waistline portion 11R, so the shape of the leg opening LH is more likely to curve so as to open toward the front (ventral side). Therefore, the leg opening LH when worn is more likely to take a shape according to the movement of the wearer's legs, making it easier for the wearer to put his/her legs through the leg opening LH.

Moreover, it is more preferable that the vertical stretchable region 30 and the horizontal stretchable region 140 have an overlapping portion in the thickness direction. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 2, the straight line portion 140s of the vertical stretchable region 30 and the horizontal stretchable region 140 of the diaper 1 intersect and overlap at a portion 150 in the thickness direction. As a result, a force that tries to pull the crotch portion 12 of the vertical stretchable region 30 upward is applied to the horizontal stretchable region 140, and the vertical stretchable region 30 and the horizontal stretchable region 140 work together to improve the upward pulling of the crotch portion 12. This makes it easier to shorten the vertical length of the crotch portion 12 and to bring the angles θ1 to θ3 closer to 90 degrees, and the horizontal length W of the leg opening LH when worn can be made larger than the vertical length H, making it easier for the wearer's legs to pass through the leg opening LH.

As shown in FIG. 2, it is preferable that the left-right length of the absorbent 21 at the fold line CL is shorter than the longest part 21a. This allows the opening area of the leg openings LH when worn to be wider than when the left-right length of the absorbent 21 at the fold line CL is the length of the longest part 21a, and the left-right length W of the leg openings LH when worn to be wider, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings LH.

Furthermore, by providing the narrowest part 21b on the ventral side of the fold line CL, it becomes easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings LH. Because humans have a skeletal structure that causes them to hold their legs forward, they often try to put their legs forward when wearing the garment. Therefore, by providing the narrowest part 21b of the absorbent body 21 on the ventral side, which is the front side of the body, it becomes easier to open the leg openings LH on the ventral side more widely when wearing the garment, and it becomes easier to widen the length W of the leg openings LH on the ventral side when wearing the garment, making it easier for the wearer to put their legs through the leg openings LH.

Fig. 6 is an enlarged view of the portion Q in Fig. 2 as viewed from the non-skin side. As shown in Fig. 6, it is preferable that the lower end of the joint 13FR is located on the other side in the left-right direction than the upper end of the joint 13FR in the stretched diaper 1. This makes it easier to make the waist part 11 have a shape that widens from the waist opening BH toward the leg opening LH. Therefore, when the wearer sees the diaper 1 in its natural state in Fig. 1, it becomes easier to recognize that the side ends 13F, 13R on both sides are flared from the waist opening BH toward the leg opening LH, and it becomes easier to recognize before wearing that the leg opening LH is a wider product. These factors make it easier for the wearer to put his/her legs through the leg opening LH when wearing the diaper.
===Other embodiments===

Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the above embodiments are intended to facilitate understanding of the present invention and are not intended to limit the interpretation of the present invention. Furthermore, the present invention may be modified or improved without departing from the spirit of the invention, and it goes without saying that the present invention includes equivalents thereof.

In the above embodiment, the left-right stretchable region 140 is provided in the back waist portion 11R, but the left-right stretchable region 140 may be provided in the ventral waist portion 11F, or both the back waist portion 11R and the ventral waist portion 11F may be provided with the left-right stretchable region 140. In addition, the left-right stretchable region 140 described above has a shape with a curved portion 140c and a straight portion 140s, but is not necessarily limited to this shape. It is sufficient that it is stretchable at least in the left-right direction. Furthermore, the left-right stretchable region 140 does not necessarily have to be continuous from one side end of the waist portion 11 to the other side end. The left-right stretchable region 140 may have discontinuous portions.

In the above embodiment, the absorbent body 21 is provided with a central low basis weight region 50 and a pair of side low basis weight regions 55, but the arrangement and number of the central low basis weight region 50 and the pair of side low basis weight regions 55 are not limited to these. At least one low basis weight region may be provided along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent body 21. For example, only a pair of low basis weight regions may be provided along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent body 21. The low basis weight region is intended to make it easier for the absorbent body 21 to bend along the flexible axis when the diaper 1 is worn, and the position and number of the low basis weight regions can be changed depending on the wearer of the diaper, the size of the diaper, etc. By providing such a low basis weight region, not only is the fit of the crotch area improved and movement is facilitated, but the crotch area does not sag, and the appearance (appearance) when worn is also improved.

In the above embodiment, the vertical stretchable region 30 is provided in the ventral waistline portion 11F and the dorsal waistline portion 11R, and the vertical stretchable region 30 of the ventral waistline portion 11F and the vertical stretchable region 30 of the dorsal waistline portion 11R are continuous, but this is not limited to the above. For example, the vertical stretchable region 30 of the ventral waistline portion 11F and the vertical stretchable region 30 of the dorsal waistline portion 11R may be separate, or the vertical stretchable region 30 may be provided in either the ventral waistline portion 11F or the dorsal waistline portion 11R. However, by providing the vertical stretchable region 30 in both the ventral waistline portion 11F and the dorsal waistline portion 11R, the crotch portion 12 can be pulled up further. Note that this can be changed as appropriate depending on the vertical length of the crotch portion 12 and the fit of the crotch portion 12 when worn.

Furthermore, the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region 30R of the back waist portion 11R may be longer than the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region 30F of the ventral waist portion 11F. In absorbent articles such as diapers 1, the area of the outer body 10 is usually wider in the back waist portion 11R than in the ventral waist portion 11F in order to cover the buttocks. Therefore, the back waist portion 11R covers the periphery of the leg opening LH more widely than the ventral waist portion 11F. In contrast, by making the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region 30R of the back waist portion 11R longer than the vertical length of the vertical stretchable region 30F of the ventral waist portion 11F, the back crotch portion 12 is made to shrink more easily than the ventral crotch portion 12 by the vertical stretchable region 30, making it easier to curve the back waist portion 11R toward the non-skin side, and easier to deform the part of the back waist portion 11R corresponding to the buttocks so as to move it away from the ventral side. This helps reduce the risk of the wearer's heel coming into contact with the back waist portion 11R and getting caught when putting on the pants.
