Description
混合イオン-電子伝導(MIEC)膜は、膜の両側の間にある酸素の化学ポテンシャル勾配により、結晶構造の特性を介して酸素イオンが一方の側からもう一方の側へ拡散する一種の高密度セラミック膜である。この膜の酸素選択性は100%である。Air Products&Chemicals Inc.によると、この膜は高温(通常、700度から1000度の範囲)で作動し、保持側に高い空気圧(1MPaから2MPa)が供給され、透過側に真空が供給される。この結果、純酸素生成(製造)用のMIEC膜技術のマーケティングに大きな進歩をもたらしてきた。
i.一般に、分離層が作られるのと同じ材料、或いは分離層と互換性のある(セラミック又は金属)材料のいずれかで作られた多孔質支持体。互換性があるということは、温度に応じて同様の膨張プロファイルを持ち、高温で両方の相の間で、一般に膜の劣化や破損が発生する結果となる第3相が生じるような反応が起こらないことを意味する。支持体の多孔度は通常20%から60%で構成され、その厚さは可変で、通常2mm未満である。
酸素燃焼は、従来の燃焼プロセスで行われているように、酸化剤として高純度のO2の流れを空気の代わりに使用することで構成され、それによってより低い燃料消費量でより高い火炎温度に到達し、燃焼を改善する。酸素に富む酸化剤を使用することで、CO2と水蒸気とを主成分とする組成の燃焼ガスを得ることができる。酸素燃焼プロセスの出口ガス中の高濃度のCO2は、その潜在的な分離を可能とする(例えば、文書US20070175411A1、US20070175411A1、US9702300B2、CN102297025Aを参照のこと)。
現在、CO2の選択的通過を可能にする多種多様な材料がある。これらの材料は、高度なポリマーから様々なタイプの無機材料にまで及ぶ。この区別化にもかかわらず、いわゆる混合マトリックス膜にはこれらの材料の組み合わせがあり、一般にポリマーマトリックスとマトリックス内に分散した無機粒子とで構成される。このタイプの技術は、CO2の回収に柔軟性を提供し、燃焼の前後に作用することを可能にする。ただし、このタイプの材料は一般に、N2、O2、H2など、より多くのガスを透過するこの適用では、主な透過がCO2に関連している必要があり、更に、O2とN2の透過率は無視してよい。CO2を残りのガスから分離するための様々な技術がある:
ガス流からCO2を選択的に分離できる様々なポリマーがある。CO2の回収のためのポリマーの適用は、ポリマーの低コスト並びに合成及び処理の容易さのために経済的観点から魅力的であるが、化学的、機械的、及び熱的安定性のために、並びに低い透過性のために一般に限られた材料となる。CO2/N2の相互選択性については、標準の上限である50が設定されている。一般に、このタイプの材料は、低温及び中圧(1barから5bar)で機能する。
溶融炭酸塩をベースにした膜を個別に考えると、ガス流からCO2を分離するための無機材料をベースとした膜のグループには、(Pdをベースとした)金属膜、シリカをベースにした膜、炭素膜、及びゼオライトをベースにした膜が含まれる。
イオン性(酸素)―電子伝導性セラミックと同様の材料を使用して、CO2の選択的通過を可能にする溶融炭酸塩をベースにした材料が開発されてきた。ただし、このタイプの膜は、これまでに発表された様々な論文で観察されたCO2の流量が少ないため、まだ工業用途にはほど遠い。
レシプロ内燃機関は、大型輸送と乗客輸送の両方の陸上及び海上の車両にとって最も重要な技術である。それらの設計と補助機械(ターボ機械、燃料噴射システム、追加のポンプと熱交換器)の両方が、過去1世紀に、いくつかのタイプの燃料用に大幅に最適化されてきた。4ストロークレシプロエンジンは、比出力が高く、汚染ガスやアコースティックエミッションに関する様々な規制に準拠する能力があり、平均比消費量が少ないため、陸上輸送をリードしている。
酸素燃焼システムを車両用エンジンに統合すると、前述の利点(効率の向上と排出量の減少)が拡大するが、スペースが車両の寸法に制限されるため、酸素の生成方法が複雑になる。酸化剤として酸素を使用するエンジンを考慮して、いくつかの代替案が提案されている:
(i)車両に酸素の貯蔵。このシステムは、車外で酸素を生成するという問題を提起しているため、車内には酸素貯蔵システム用のスペースがあれば十分である。いくつかの研究は、スペースを減らすために車両に液体の形で酸素を貯蔵することを提案している(とりわけ、文書CN201835947U及びDE3625451A1を参照のこと)。しかし、これは、酸素及び酸素を液相に保つために低温を必要とする貯蔵システムのコストを増加させるであろう。他の研究では、圧縮酸素を車内のタンクに貯蔵するというアイデアが提案されている(文書US3425402)。それにもかかわらず、このタイプの解決策では、他の場所で酸素を生成する必要がある。そのため、貯蔵システム(液相と気相との両方)の費用に加えて、酸素の稼働費を考慮する必要がある。これらすべての追加コストを考慮すると、事前のこの代替案は実行可能ではなく、酸素の生成と貯蔵に関する現在の技術の改善が必要になるだろう。
フィルタリングシステム(文書US3961609A)又はPSA吸着(文書WO2005083243)の導入。このタイプの解決策には、酸素需要を満たすために非常に大規模なシステムが必要になるという欠点がある。

中間冷却を伴う圧縮を有する第2のブレイトンサイクルであって、第1のブレイトンサイクルとバイナリ方式で組み合わされ(同じものに熱を伝達する)、エンジンの少なくとも1つの第2のシリンダでの酸素燃焼によって実行されるオットーサイクルとディーゼルサイクルとから選択されたサイクルと入れ子になる(合成される)、第2のブレイトンサイクルと;を備える。

実施の形態1は、CO2を回収しない(均質な)予混合気を有する火花点火(SI)エンジンについて示す。実施の形態1は、正味の機械動力を生成するための、亜音速で、混合気の自己着火を伴わないデフラグレーション燃焼(爆燃)のプロセスに基づく。
実施の形態2は、大気及び生成されたCO2を回収する(均質な)予混合気を有する火花点火(SI)エンジンについて示す。したがって、大気からCO2を除去するエンジンのカテゴリーに含まれる(排出率<0)。実施の形態2は、正味の機械的動力を生成するための、亜音速で、混合気の自己着火を伴わないデフラグレーション燃焼のプロセスに基づく。

実施の形態4は、大気中のCO2及びエンジン自体によって生成されたCO2の回収を伴う、層状混合気(拡散燃焼)を有する圧縮着火(CI)エンジンについて示す。したがって、大気からCO2を除去するエンジンのカテゴリーに含まれる(排出率<0)。正味の機械的動力を生成するために、実施の形態4は、拡散燃焼プロセスに基づいており、予混合気のデトネーションによる自己着火及び噴射される燃料流(及びこの場合は液体CO2)の移動量によって制御される燃焼速度を伴う。

- 大気を酸化剤として吸引し、炭化水素を燃料として用いるタイプの内燃機関としてのエンジンであって、前記エンジンは:
中間冷却を伴う空気圧縮と、窒素の一部を混合することによって再加熱を伴う窒素膨張とを有する第1の再生ブレイトンサイクルであって、前記空気圧縮による圧縮空気からO2を分離するMIEC膜を備え、吸引されて前記MIEC膜を通った後の大気にはN2が含まれず、前記MIEC膜からのO 2 が枯渇した空気が大気に放出され、前記空気圧縮の一部が前記エンジンの少なくとも1つの第1シリンダで実行される、後続の燃焼への関与を防ぐ、第1の再生ブレイトンサイクルと;

前記第2のブレイトンサイクルは、機械エネルギーと、排気ガスからの熱エネルギーとを前記第1の再生ブレイトンサイクルに伝達し;
前記第1の再生ブレイトンサイクルは、前記分離から前記第2のブレイトンサイクルに圧縮されたO2を供給し;
これにより、前記大気中への前記NOxの排出は、N2の分離によって防止される、内燃機関の作動方法。 - 前記第1の再生ブレイトンサイクルによって生成された前記正味の機械エネルギーが、前記第2のブレイトンサイクルを過給するために使用されることを特徴とする、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の再生ブレイトンサイクルが大気から分離された純粋なO2を生成することを特徴とする、請求項21または22に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の再生ブレイトンサイクルがCO2で希釈されたO2を生成することを特徴とする、請求項21または22に記載の方法。
- 前記O2を希釈する前記CO2が大気から得られることを特徴とする、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 前記O2を希釈する前記CO2が、前記第2のブレイトンサイクルにおいて炭化水素との燃焼によって生成されることを特徴とする、請求項24に記載の方法。
- 各圧縮ステップの後に常に冷却ステップが存在することを特徴とする、請求項21~26のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 各冷却の前に再生を実行する前記第1の再生ブレイトンサイクル及び第2のブレイトンサイクルを組み合わせることによって、すべての残留源から熱が回収されることを特徴とする、請求項21~27のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記第2のブレイトンサイクルによって生成された前記機械エネルギーが、生成された前記CO2を液化するまで圧縮するために更に使用されることを特徴とする、請求項21~28のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記CO2が少なくとも7.5MPaに圧縮されることを特徴とする、請求項29に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のブレイトンサイクルは、前記エンジンの導管に蓄積された過剰なCO2を吸引及び圧縮するステップを備えることを特徴とする、オットーサイクルと入れ子になる、請求項29または30に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のブレイトンサイクルはディーゼルサイクルと入れ子になり、CO2を圧縮するステップを備え、CO2の排出及び実質的に純粋なO2の吸入を可能にし、後者はCO2選択的分離膜の同伴ガスとして用いられることを特徴とする、請求項29または30に記載のエンジン。
- 前記実質的に純粋なO2、又は前記CO2で希釈されたO2を後続の圧縮の前に更に強く冷却するための真空ブレイトンサイクル(VBC)を更に備えることを特徴とする、請求項23または24に記載の方法。
- 生成された液化CO2を貯蔵するステップを備えることを特徴とする、請求項29~33のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記貯蔵されたCO2を使用して、燃料を前記エンジンの前記シリンダに圧送することを備えることを特徴とする、請求項34に記載の方法。
