図1は、一実施形態に係るメタン生成装置の構成図である。
メタン生成装置は、図1に示すように、概略、培養槽1と、ガス供給装置2と、生成ガス抽出装置3と、管理装置15と、を具備している。
培養槽1においては、概ね図2に示すように、水素ガス、メタン及び二酸化炭素濃度が、それぞれ経時的に変化する。水素ガス及び二酸化炭素は、水素資化性メタン生成菌によって減少し、メタンが増加している。このようなガス分析装置4の分析結果から、メタンの生成状態を検出することが可能である。
pH調整剤投入装置7は、pH検出器6の検出結果に基づいて、培養液20にpH調整剤(例えば、水酸化ナトリウム等)を投入し、メタンの生成によって酸性に寄ったpHを、メタン生成菌の生育に至適なpHに調整する。
ORP調整剤投入装置9は、ORP検出器8の検出結果に基づいて、培養液20の嫌気状態を維持するための還元剤を培養槽1に投入する。
温度制御装置16は、温度センサー10の検出結果に基づいて、培養槽1における温度をコントロールし、メタン生成菌の至適生育温度に調整する。なお、至適生育温度は菌種によって異なる。温度制御装置16としては、培養槽1を外部または内部から温めるヒーター等を例示することができる。

装置制御部14は、データ処理部13による処理結果に基づいて、前述した各種装置(ガス分析装置4、液分析装置5、pH調整剤投入装置7、ORP調整剤投入装置9、温度制御装置16、培養液投入装置17、沈殿物除去装置18等)の動作を制御する。
また、管理装置15は、ガス分析装置4および液分析装置5での測定結果から、メタン生成量の経時変化(メタン生成速度)を確認し、微生物のメタン生成能力を評価する。その結果をもとに、微生物の細胞濃度の調整や培養液20の交換など環境調整の必要性を判断する。

Claims (13)
- 培養液でメタン生成菌を培養する培養槽と、
前記培養槽に、前記メタン生成菌が必要とする二酸化炭素及び水素ガスを供給するガス供給装置と、
前記メタン生成菌が生成したメタンを抽出する生成ガス抽出装置と、
前記培養液の液中に生じた沈殿物を前記培養槽から除去する沈殿物除去装置と、
前記培養槽の培養環境に関する測定データを処理するデータ処理部と、
前記データ処理部による処理結果に基づいて、前記培養槽の培養環境を制御する装置制御部と、を具備し、
前記装置制御部は、前記データ処理部による処理結果に基づいて、前記沈殿物除去装置を制御し、前記培養槽のドレイン管から前記沈殿物を除く、メタン生成装置。 - 前記培養槽における温度をコントロールする温度制御装置を具備する、請求項1に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養槽におけるメタンの生成状態を検出するガス分析装置を具備する、請求項1または2に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記ガス分析装置として、吸光分析装置を具備する、請求項3に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養液の状態を検出する培養液状態検出装置を具備する、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養液状態検出装置として、pH検出器を具備する、請求項5に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養液状態検出装置として、酸化還元電位検出器を具備する、請求項5または6に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養液の液中の微生物群集の現存量を検出する液分析装置を具備する、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記液分析装置として、吸光度測定装置を具備する、請求項8に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養槽における圧力を検出する圧力センサーを具備する、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養液を、嫌気状態を保ったまま前記培養槽に投入する培養液投入装置を具備する、請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養液の嫌気状態を維持するために還元剤を前記培養槽に投入する還元剤投入装置を具備する、請求項11に記載のメタン生成装置。
- 前記培養液と、前記二酸化炭素及び前記水素ガスを含む混合ガスを攪拌・混合する機構を具備する、請求項1~12のいずれか一項に記載のメタン生成装置。
