Description
1-1.メタン排出量抑制のための補酵素Mの構造類似体選抜
メタン生成菌の細胞内反応(intercellular reaction)過程で生成される補酵素M(coenzyme M、以下、Co-M)がメタン生成菌のメタン生成活性を特異的に抑制することができる抑制剤と知られている。これにより、本発明では、Co-Mの構造類似体としてエセフォン(ethephone)を選抜した。具体的に、Co-Mの構造類似体と知られたCES(2-chloroethane sulfonate), BES(2-bromoethane sulfonate), MES(2-mercaptoethane sulfonate)と本発明においてCo-M構造類似体から選発されたエセフォン(ethephon, IUPAC name: 2-chloroethyl phosphonic acid)を淡水条件の土壌に同一濃度(20mg/kg)で処理して50日間培養しつつ、ヘッドスペース(headspace)内のメタン濃度と土壌内のメタン生成菌の活性とを測定した。
稲は、開花期に最も多くのメタンが排出され、その後、急減する特徴を有しているので(図1)、稲栽培過程でメタン排出を効果的に減らすためには、田植え期から開花期まで(約70~80日)の間、メタン生成菌の活性を効果的に抑制することが重要である。また、還元状態の水田土壌pHが7以上である場合、エセフォンが容易に加水分解されてエチレンガス形態に損失されてしまうので、エセフォンが土壌中に滞留する期間を、稲田植え期から開花期までに調節せねばならない。これにより、本発明者は、エセフォンの加水分解を遅延させ、土壌でメタン排出を効果的に抑制するために、エセフォンの安定化を増加させうる生分解性高分子物質である酢酸セルロースを選抜した。
下記表4に示された配合比率によってエセフォンが濃度別に溶解されたアセトンに酢酸セルロースを添加して溶解させ、石膏を混合した後、アセトンが揮発するまで混合物を乾燥した後、粒子サイズが2mm以下になるように粉砕することで、土壌内でエセフォンの分解を遅延させ、メタン排出量を低減させうる肥料を製造した。前記アセトンは、揮発性が強く、エセフォン、酢酸セルロース及び石膏を混合して乾燥する過程で蒸発されるので、混合物の量によって最小限の量を使用した。そして、エセフォン処理量2kg/ha、6kg/ha及び10kg/haは、土壌内にエセフォンを1mg/kg、3mg/kg、5mg/kg(ppm)処理することを意味する。
エセフォン、酢酸セルロース及び石膏を多様な配合比率で配合して製造された肥料組成物を田植え前に、水田土壌に2トン/haの量で処理した後、稲栽培過程でメタン排出量、メタン排出抑制効果及び稲の数量特性を分析した。
Claims (4)
- エセフォン(ethephon)を有効成分として含む肥料組成物を農作物栽培土壌に処理してメタンガス発生を低減させる方法。
- 前記肥料組成物は、生分解性高分子(biodegradable polymer);及び石膏、石灰、ケイ酸質肥料、ベントナイト及びゼオライトからなる群から選択されるいずれか1つ;をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記生分解性高分子は、セルロース(cellulose)誘導体、腐植(humus)浸出液、アミノ酸醗酵副産液(condensed molasses solubles)及びアクリル(acryl)系高分子からなる群から選択されたいずれか1つであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記肥料組成物を田植え前に、水田土壌に1~50トン/haで処理することを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
