Description
本願は、2018年4月5日に出願された、「WIRE FAULT AND PAIR UNBALANCE DETECTION FOR POWER OVER COMMUNICATIONS CABLING」と題する米国仮出願第62/653,385号(代理人整理番号第CISCP1341+号)の優先権を主張する。当該仮出願の内容は参照によりその全体が本明細書に組み込まれる。
独立請求項において本発明の態様が明記され、従属請求項において好ましい特徴が明記される。ある態様の特徴を各態様に単独で、または他の態様と組み合わせて適用することができる。

Claims (23)
- Power over Ethernet(PoE)配電システムにおいてPoEを100ワット超の電力で伝送することであって、前記配電システムは少なくとも2つの電線対を備える、伝送することと、
前記配電システムの熱状態をモニタすることと、
前記電線のうちの1本への電力を少なくとも所定期間切断し、前記電線を評価し、前記電線の各々について繰り返すことにより、障害がないか前記電線の各々を定期的にチェックすることと、
前記電線に電気的不均衡がないかチェックすることと、
を含む、方法。 - 電気的不均衡がないかをチェックすることは、前記電線対同士の間に電気的不均衡がないかをチェックすることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 電気的不均衡がないかをチェックすることは、前記電線同士の間に電気的不均衡がないかをチェックすることを含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記熱状態をモニタすることは電流変化を追跡して熱蓄積を識別することを含む、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記配電システムは、ルートプロセッサを備える給電装置(PSE)と、ラインカードを備える受電装置と、を備える、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記電線のうちの1つの前記障害または前記電気的不均衡を識別したときに警告を設定することを更に含む、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 温度限度値のあるパーセンテージ内のケーブル温度を識別し、電力レベルを低減することと、を更に含む、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 起動時に前記PoEを100ワット未満の電力で伝送することと、
前記PoE配電システムにおいて給電装置(PSE)と受電装置(PD)の間で電力レベルを調整することと、
前記電力を100ワット超まで増大させることと、
を更に含む、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 - 前記PoE配電システムは56ボルト~58ボルトの間の出力電圧を有する給電装置(PSE)を備える、請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記PSEにおける前記出力電圧が58.5ボルトを上回ることを検出し、前記出力電圧を遮断することを更に含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記電線の各々を定期的にチェックすることは、電線の安定性を10ミリ秒の時間期間内に少なくとも1回評価することを含む、請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記所定期間は0.25ミリ秒以下である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- Power over Ethernet(PoE)配電システムにおいて電源として動作可能なルートプロセッサであって、
複数の受電装置に電力を送達するための複数のポートと、
前記配電システムの熱状態をモニタし、障害がないか前記ポートの各々において電線をチェックし、前記電線に電気的不均衡がないかをチェックするための、障害検出モジュールであって、前記電線のうちの1本への電力を少なくとも所定期間切断し、前記電線を評価し、前記電線の各々について繰り返すことにより、障害がないか前記ポートの各々において電線をチェックする、障害検出モジュールと、を備える、ルートプロセッサ
を備える、装置。 - 電気的不均衡がないかをチェックすることは、電線対同士の間におよび前記電線同士の間に電気的不均衡がないかをチェックすることを含む、請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記障害検出モジュールは、温度限度値のあるパーセンテージ内のケーブル温度を識別したときに、前記ルートプロセッサと前記複数の受電装置のうちの1つとの間で電力レベルの再調整を開始するように動作可能である、請求項13または14に記載の装置。
- 前記ルートプロセッサは、起動時に前記PoEを100ワット未満の電力で伝送し、前記複数の受電装置と電力レベルを調整し、前記受電装置に100ワット超の電力を伝送するように動作可能である、請求項13~15のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- Power over Ethernet(PoE)配電システムにおいてPoEを100ワット超の電力で送達するための複数のポートを備えるルートプロセッサと、
前記PoEを受け取るための複数のポートを備える複数の受電装置と、
前記配電システムの熱状態をモニタし、障害がないか前記ポートの各々において電線をチェックし、前記電線に電気的不均衡がないかチェックするための障害検出システムであって、前記電線のうちの1本への電力を少なくとも所定期間切断し、前記電線を評価し、前記電線の各々について繰り返すことにより、障害がないか前記ポートの各々において電線をチェックする、障害検出システムと、
を備える、モジュール式伝達システム。 - 前記ルートプロセッサは少なくとも2個のルートプロセッサを備え、前記受電装置はラインカードまたはファブリックカードを備える、請求項17に記載のモジュール式伝達システム。
- 前記ルートプロセッサの電力容量を増大させるための拡張電力システムを更に備える、請求項17または18に記載のモジュール式伝達システム。
- 前記障害検出システムは、温度限度値のあるパーセンテージ内のケーブル温度を識別したときに、前記ルートプロセッサと前記受電装置のうちの1つとの間で電力レベルの再調整を開始するように動作可能である、請求項17~19のいずれか1項に記載のモジュール式伝達システム。
- Power over Ethernet(PoE)配電システムにおいてPoEを100ワット超の電力で伝送するための手段であって、前記配電システムは少なくとも2つの電線対を備える、伝送するための手段と、
前記配電システムの熱状態をモニタするための手段と、
前記電線のうちの1本への電力を少なくとも所定期間切断し、前記電線を評価し、前記電線の各々について繰り返すことにより、障害がないか前記電線の各々を定期的にチェックするための手段と、
前記電線に電気的不均衡がないかをチェックするための手段と、
を備える、装置。 - 請求項2~12のいずれか1項に記載の方法を実行するための手段を更に備える、請求項21に記載の装置。
- コンピュータによって実行されると前記コンピュータに請求項1~12のいずれか1項に記載の方法のステップを実行させる命令を備える、コンピュータプログラム、コンピュータプログラム製品、またコンピュータ可読媒体。
