Claims (9)
- 複合ウイングボックスを形成する方法であって、
複数のスパーを提供する工程と、
複数のリブを前記複数のスパーと連結する工程と、
複合スキンを形成する工程であって、当該複合スキンは、
複数の構造的な層であって、その各々が炭素繊維強化熱可塑性薄膜で形成された、複数の構造的な層と、
複数の絶縁層であって、その各々が複数の離間された電気絶縁要素で形成され、各絶縁要素は長さおよび幅を有し、前記長さは前記幅より実質的に長く、前記絶縁層は互いに位置合わせされて前記構造的な層間に配置され、前記絶縁層は、前記複合スキンが前記スパーおよびリブの上に重なるとき、前記絶縁要素が前記スパーおよびリブの上に重なるよう構成される、複数の絶縁層と、
炭素繊維強化熱可塑性薄膜で形成される溶接層と
を有する、複合スキンを形成する工程と、
前記複合スキンの前記層が前記リブおよびスパーの上に重なるよう、前記リブおよびスパーの上に前記複合スキンを配置する工程と、
前記複合スキンを前記リブおよびスパーに溶接する工程であって、当該溶接工程は、前記リブおよびスパーに隣接した前記複合スキンの上方に誘導溶接ヘッドを移動させる工程を有し、前記誘導溶接ヘッドが前記複合スキンを透過する電磁場を印加することにより前記溶接層の前記熱可塑性材料の融点を超えて前記溶接層が加熱されるとともに、前記熱可塑性材料の融点を超えて前記構造的な層が加熱されることを前記絶縁層が妨げるようになっている、前記複合スキンを前記リブおよびスパーに溶接する工程と
を有する方法。 - 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記リブおよび前記スパーに複数の連結要素を連結する工程を有し、各連結要素は、単一方向性の炭素繊維強化熱可塑性材料の層を有し、前記溶接工程は、前記溶接層を前記連結要素と溶接する工程を有するものである方法。
- 請求項2記載の方法において、前記溶接層の前記炭素繊維は第1の方向に配向され、前記連結要素の前記炭素繊維は第2の方向に配向され、前記複数の連結要素を連結する工程は、前記第2の方向が前記第1の方向を横断するよう前記連結要素を連結する工程を有するものである方法。
- 請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の方法において、前記複数の絶縁層を有する複合スキンを提供する工程は、前記複数の絶縁要素をグリッドへと構成する工程を有するものである方法。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の方法において、前記複数の絶縁層を有する複合スキンを提供する工程は、前記絶縁要素間に複数の開口部が形成されるよう、前記複数の絶縁要素を構成する工程を有するものである方法。
- 請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の方法において、前記複合スキンを形成する工程は、複数ペアの前記構造的な層を提供する工程を有し、構造的な層のペアの各層は、当該ペアの他方の構造的な層に隣接し、かつそれに直接連結され、当該ペアに含まれる2層は、両層の繊維が実質的に平行になるよう配向され、構造的な層の隣接しあうペアは、一方のペアの繊維が、それに隣接したペアの繊維を横断する方向になるよう配向される、ものである方法。
- 請求項6記載の方法において、前記絶縁層を提供する方法は、前記一方のペアと前記それに隣接したペアとの間に絶縁層を介設する工程を有するものである方法。
- 請求項7記載の方法において、前記絶縁層を提供する方法は、構造的な層の隣接しあう各ペア間に絶縁層を介設する工程を有するものである方法。
- 請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の方法において、前記複合スキンは、上面および下面を有し、前記溶接層は前記下面を形成し、前記誘導溶接ヘッドを移動させる工程は、前記上面の上方に前記誘導溶接ヘッドを移動させる工程を有するものである方法。
