しかしこの医療用チューブには接続部を兼ね備えているものも多く、その部分は必然的にチューブの太さが太くなる為、上記の医療品では保護できない可能性が高い。又、医療用チューブ保護具全般に言える事だが、これ自体が患者の身体の近くで使用する医療品であるので、患者の血液や体液の付着、便や尿が付着し汚染する事は当然あるが、それに対しての対策は記載されていない事が多い。更に感染症予防や実際に感染症が発生した際は保護具自体を消毒液に浸透させる、熱湯に浸ける必要性があるが、消毒・熱湯消毒ができていないとう問題点があった。

更に汚染時や感染症発生時にはシリコンの特性と単純な構造の為、洗濯、乾燥、消毒液に浸けても繰り返し再利用する事ができるという効果がある。被介護者にとっては現状では入浴前や汚染時にチューブの接続部のテープ、ガーゼを剥がし取り、入浴後及び汚染処置後に再びガーゼを巻きテープを貼るという労力と時間をこの発明品によって軽減させる事ができる為、介護労力の削減と共に現状は使い捨てになっているガーゼ、テープ等へのコスト削減効果がある。
