Claims (10)
- 電気外科手術ワンドであって、
前記電気外科手術ワンドの近位端のハンドルと、
前記ハンドルに連結され、長手方向中心軸に沿って前記ハンドルから遠位に延びる細長いシャフトと、
前記電気外科手術ワンドの遠位端に配置され、外面を有し、その周りに延びる外周を画定し、前記長手方向中心軸から間隔を空けて、前記長手方向中心軸に沿って、前記長手方向中心軸から横方向に延びる平面内にあり、平面を画定する、活性電極と、
前記細長いシャフトに隣接し、前記長手方向中心軸に沿ってそのまわりに環状に延び、前記活性電極に隣接する上側および前記活性電極から離れて前記上側の反対に配置される底側を有するリターン電極であって、前記リターン電極の少なくとも一部分が前記活性電極に近位に配置され、前記リターン電極の前記上側は、前記細長いシャフトから軸方向に測定された第一の長さを有し、前記底側は、前記細長いシャフトから軸方向に測定された前記第一の長さよりも長い第二の長さを有し、前記リターン電極の前記底側および前記活性電極をオーバーラップ領域において前記長手方向中心軸に沿ってオーバーラップできるようにするノッチを画定する、リターン電極と、
電気絶縁性であり、前記活性電極と前記リターン電極との間の前記ノッチ内に配置され、前記リターン電極から軸方向に延びる支持部材であって、前記支持部材は、前記活性電極に連結され、前記活性電極を支持し、前記支持部材が、前記リターン電極の前記ノッチから軸方向に曲線状に移行し、前記活性電極に隣接する遠位先端まで先細りになって、前記リターン電極を横切って横方向におよび軸方向に延びる前面を画定し、前記活性電極から下方に先細りになって、前記活性電極に隣接して配置された第一の部分を画定して第一の凸状外面を画定し、前記リターン電極の前記底側に向かって延びる前記前面は、前記リターン電極の前記底側に隣接して配置された第二の部分を画定して第二の凸状外面を画定し、前記支持部材は、前記長手方向中心軸から前記リターン電極の前記上側までの第二の距離よりも大きい前記長手方向中心軸からの第一の距離で前記活性電極を保持する、支持部材と、を備える、電気外科手術ワンド。 - 前記支持部材は、前記前面の前記第一の部分と前記第二の部分との間に配置され、前記電気外科手術ワンドの前記近位端に向かって前記活性電極を軸方向にアンダーカットする凹状外面を画定する中間部を有する、請求項1に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
- 前記凹状外面は、前記長手方向中心軸が前記活性電極と同じ側に配置された中心を有する部材曲率半径を有する、請求項2に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
- 前記ノッチは、一対の角部の間の前記リターン電極の前記上側を横切って弓状に延びる湾曲縁部を画定して上部セグメントを画定し、前記一対の角部から軸方向に前記遠位端に向かって、互いに横方向に対向する一対の水平セグメントを画定し、それぞれが軸方向に延びてそれぞれの肩部で終わり、前記肩部から前記リターン電極の前記底側のまわりに弓状に延びて下部セグメントを画定し、前記支持部材は前記リターン電極の前記湾曲縁部に沿って延び、前記湾曲縁部に対応する後方縁部を含む、請求項1に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
- 前記湾曲縁部の前記下部セグメントは、前記湾曲縁部が前記長手方向中心軸に対して下部縁セグメント角度で前記長手方向中心軸から離れるように延びるにつれて、前記遠位端から離れて軸方向に傾斜している、請求項4に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
- 前記肩部および前記角部のうちの少なくとも一つが丸みがある、請求項4に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
- 前記細長いシャフト内に画定される吸引チャネルをさらに備え、
前記活性電極は、吸引管腔を画定する少なくとも一つの開口部をさらに備え、前記少なくとも一つの開口部は前記吸引チャネルへの開口の上に配置される、請求項1に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。 - 前記支持部材は、前記活性電極の前記外周に沿って軸方向に延びてその下に配置され、前記支持部材から横方向外側に延びる少なくとも一つのシェルフを含む、請求項1に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
- 前記少なくとも一つのシェルフが、前記活性電極の前記外面に対してシェルフ角度で傾斜する、請求項8に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
- 前記シェルフ角度が30~60度である、請求項9に記載の電気外科手術ワンド。
