Claims (11)
- 視線追跡を行うための光学システムであって、
不可視光を放出するように構成された光源と、
前記光源に動作可能に結合され、第1及び第2の導波路基板を有する、導波路であって、前記第1の導波路基板は、対向する第1及び第2の側面を有し、前記第2の導波路基板は、前記第1の導波路基板の前記第1及び第2の側面に平行に延びる、対向する第3及び第4の側面を有する、導波路と、
前記第1の導波路基板と前記第2の導波路基板との間に配設された体積ホログラフィック光結合素子と、
を備え、前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、
前記第2及び第3の側面に接触する前記第1及び第2の導波路基板の間の格子媒体と、
前記格子媒体内の体積ホログラフィック格子構造であって、前記格子媒体の面法線からずれた反射軸について前記不可視光を反射するように構成されている、体積ホログラフィック格子構造と、
前記格子媒体内の付加的な体積ホログラフィック格子構造であって、前記可視光を反射するように構成されている、付加的な体積ホログラフィック格子構造と、
を含み、
前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記導波路から前記不可視光を出力して、前記導波路から出力された前記不可視光の反射バージョンを受け取るように構成され、
前記光学システムは、
画像化デバイスであって、前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記不可視光の前記反射バージョンを前記画像化デバイスに向けて送るように構成されている、画像化デバイスと、
前記導波路に動作可能に結合され、可視光を放出するように構成されたディスプレイと、
付加的な画像化デバイスと、
を更に備え、前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記光学システムの外部から受け取った外部シーン光を前記付加的な画像化デバイスに向けて送るように構成され、
前記付加的な画像化デバイスは、前記ディスプレイから画像情報を受け取り、前記画像情報を使用して、前記外部シーン光とともに前記付加的な画像化デバイスに伝搬された、前記ディスプレイの投影像に関連付けられた漂遊画像表示光を差し引くように構成されている、光学システム。 - 前記導波路と前記光源と前記画像化デバイスとの間に動作可能に結合された偏光ビームスプリッタであって、前記不可視光の前記反射バージョンと前記光源が放出した前記不可視光を互いに分離するように構成されている、偏光ビームスプリッタを、更に備える、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 前記導波路と前記偏光ビームスプリッタとの間に動作可能に結合された4分の1波長板であって、前記不可視光の前記反射バージョンを前記導波路から前記偏光ビームスプリッタまで運ぶように構成されている、4分の1波長板を更に備える、請求項2に記載の光学システム。
- 前記光源は赤外光源を含み、前記不可視光は赤外光を含む、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 前記導波路に動作可能に結合され、前記可視光と前記不可視光を互いに分離するように構成された光学フィルタを更に備える、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 前記光学フィルタは、ダイクロイックフィルタ、偏光子、付加的な体積ホログラフィック光結合素子からなる群から選択されるコンポーネントを含む、請求項5に記載の光学システム。
- 前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記可視光と前記不可視光とを結合して前記光学システムの射出瞳に入れるように構成されており、前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記可視光に対して前記射出瞳を2次元に拡大するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記不可視光に対して前記射出瞳を1次元に拡大するように構成されている、請求項7に記載の光学システム。
- 前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記可視光に対して前記射出瞳を2次元に拡大する交差カプラを含み、前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、前記不可視光に対して前記射出瞳を1次元に拡大する出力カプラを含む、請求項8に記載の光学システム。
- 前記体積ホログラフィック光結合素子は、出力カプラと交差カプラとを含む、請求項1に記載の光学システム。
- 前記導波路は、前記不可視光と前記可視光とを所与の方向に伝搬させるように構成されており、前記交差カプラは、前記可視光が前記導波路を通って伝搬するときに前記可視光を反射して前記光学システムの2次元アイボックスに入れるように構成されており、前記出力カプラは、前記不可視光が前記導波路を通って伝搬するときに前記不可視光を反射して前記2次元アイボックスに入れるように構成されている、請求項10に記載の光学システム。
