Description
図1~5のシールおよび結界を形成するために使用されるシーリング組成物の選択されたグラウト成分は、望ましくはポリマ粒子の100%が2ミクロン未満のサイズを有する粒子サイズ分布を有するポリマ粒子のほぼ均一な分散物を有する、主な割合のラテックスエマルジョンまたはコロイドを含有する。この粒子サイズは、ポルトランドセメントおよびTamcrete(登録商標)製品(無機粒子の58%が2ミクロンを超える粒子サイズを有し、無機粒子の100%が40ミクロン未満の粒子サイズを有する)についての5~30ミクロンの無機セメント粒子の粒子サイズ範囲に匹敵する。粒子サイジングにおける違いは、選択されたラテックスエマルジョンに基づくシーリング組成物に対して有益である。というのも、それは、より低い圧力で、微細な亀裂に流れ込み、染みこむことができ、セメント系シーリング組成物が示すであろう望ましくない水圧破砕のリスクがないからである。シーリング組成物のわずかな割合のグラウト成分は、ラウリン酸塩、ラウリン酸アンモニウム、ならびに、さらに以下で記載されるさらなる選択された添加物から構成された。
以上で記載されるカーボンブラック抗放射線剤を含有するシーリング組成物またはグラウトの試料を、1MRad、10MRadおよび100MRadの線量での60Co放射線源による照射に供した。未照射対照もまた包含させた。
しかしながら、0MRadから1MRadで、密度には著しい増加があり、架橋の増加と一致した。密度は10~100MRadの範囲にわたり減少し、鎖切断の増加と一致した。低レベルの放射線であっても効果的に硬化性であり、グラウトにおいて必須度の架橋および凝結を誘導し、シール有効性を増加させることができる。
SW-846、方法1311:毒性指標浸出法(TCLP)(本明細書で、参照により組み込まれる)により規定される、多くの汚染物質に対するUS規制レベルの順守を評価するために毒性分析を実施した。試料グラウトに対するTCLP有機物結果により、検出可能な量の規制されるVOC、SVOCまたは一般的に使用される有機塩素駆除剤は示されなかった。As、Cd、Cr、Pb、Hg、SeおよびAgに対するTCLP結果は全て、規制限度未満であり、検出可能な限界未満であった。試料グラウトはTCLP適合であった。
Claims (19)
- 多孔性マトリックスを通る液体および/またはガス流入を制限する、または低減させる方法であって、
前記マトリックスに関する1つ以上のパラメータを測定すること、ここで、少なくとも1つのパラメータは水力および/または空気パラメータから選択される;
前記多孔性マトリックスに、測定された前記水力および/または空気パラメータを参照して選択されるシーリング組成物を送達すること、ここで、前記シーリング組成物は少なくとも1つの選択された添加物と接触させるために凝固性ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドを含み、前記少なくとも1つの選択された添加物は、前記ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドと相互作用してシーリングバリアを形成するための凝固塊を形成し、前記多孔性マトリックスを通る液体および/またはガス流入を低減する;
を含み、
前記多孔性マトリックスが電離放射線にさらされ、
前記シーリングバリアが、前記ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドを前記少なくとも1つの選択された添加物と接触させることにより形成され、ここで、前記少なくとも1つの選択された添加物は、前記シーリングバリアを形成するために、前記ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドの凝固を引き起こし、
前記凝固性ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドが、前記シーリングバリア上に放射線抵抗性を付与する、少なくとも1つの放射線安定剤を含む、
方法。 - 前記シーリング組成物は前記多孔性マトリックスに、前記多孔性マトリックス内に削孔された注入穴を介する注入により導入される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記注入穴はプッシュドリル削孔により削孔される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記注入穴が削孔され、シーリング組成物が注入され、放射性廃棄物のための円筒形封じ込めバリアが形成される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記注入穴が削孔され、シーリング組成物が注入され、放射性廃棄物のための円錐封じ込めバリアが形成される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記注入穴が削孔され、シーリング組成物が注入され、放射性廃棄物のための直線封じ込めバリアが形成される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記シーリング組成物は、少なくとも1MRadに対して機械的に抵抗性である封じ込めバリアを形成する、請求項4~6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記シーリング組成物は、少なくとも10MRadに対して機械的に抵抗性である封じ込めバリアを形成する、請求項4~7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記シーリング組成物は、100MRadまでに対して機械的に抵抗性である封じ込めバリアを形成する、請求項4~8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記シーリング組成物は、ラテックスエマルジョンまたはコロイドと、下記からなる群より選択される放射線安定剤とを含む、請求項7~9のいずれか一項に記載の方法:カーボンブラック、酸化亜鉛、どちらも微粒子形態で、本質的に水に不溶性;オルト二置換フェノール、ヒドロキシフェニルプロピオネート、ヒドロキシベンジル化合物、芳香族アミン、立体障害アミン、亜リン酸塩および有機硫黄化合物。
- 少なくとも1つの選択された添加物と接触可能な凝固性ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドを含み、前記少なくとも1つの選択された添加物は前記ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドと相互作用し、多孔性マトリックスを通る液体および/またはガス流入に対するシーリングバリアを形成するための凝固塊を形成し、
前記シーリング組成物が電離放射線にさらされ、および前記ポリマエマルジョンまたはコロイドが、前記シーリングバリア上に放射線抵抗性を付与する少なくとも1つの放射線安定剤を含有し、
前記少なくとも1つの放射線安定剤が、カーボンブラック、酸化亜鉛、どちらも微粒子形態で、本質的に水に不溶性;オルト二置換フェノール、ヒドロキシフェニルプロピオネート、ヒドロキシベンジル化合物、芳香族アミン、立体障害アミン、亜リン酸塩および有機硫黄化合物からなる群から選択される、
シーリング組成物。 - 放射線安定剤としてカーボンブラックを含有する、請求項11に記載のシーリング組成物。
- 前記カーボンブラックが、前記ラテックスエマルジョンまたはコロイド中に、0.1~3wt%の割合で存在する、請求項12に記載のシーリング組成物。
- 前記カーボンブラックが、前記ラテックスエマルジョンまたはコロイド中に、1wt%未満の割合で存在する、請求項13に記載のシーリング組成物。
- 前記カーボンブラックが、前記ラテックスエマルジョンまたはコロイド中に、0.5~0.7wt%の範囲の割合で存在する、請求項14に記載のシーリング組成物。
- 前記シーリングバリアは、少なくとも1MRadに対して機械的に抵抗性である、請求項12~15のいずれか一項に記載のシーリング組成物。
- 前記シーリングバリアは、少なくとも10MRadに対して機械的に抵抗性である、請求項12~16のいずれか一項に記載のシーリング組成物。
- 前記シーリングバリアは、100MRadまでに対して機械的に抵抗性である、請求項12~17のいずれか一項に記載のシーリング組成物。
- 米国環境保護庁、SW-846、方法1311 毒性指標浸出法により定められている、
(a)ヒ素、カドミウム、クロム、鉛、水銀、セレンおよび銀からなる群から選択される金属、
(b)VOCおよびSVOC、および
(c)有機塩素駆除剤
に対する規制限度に合格している、請求項12~18のいずれか一項に記載のシーリング組成物。
