Description
(1) 患者の体内に磁場を発生するように構成された1つ以上の磁場発生器と、
侵襲性プローブであって、
遠位端を有し、前記体内に挿入されるように構成された挿入管と、
前記挿入管の前記遠位端から展開されるように構成された複数の可撓性スプラインであって、各スプラインが、可撓性の多層回路基板と、導電性トレースであって、該回路基板の少なくとも1つの層に形成され、かつ前記スプラインの長さに沿って配置され、かつ前記磁場に応じて電気信号を出力する1つ以上のコイルを画定するように構成された、導電性トレースと、を有する、複数の可撓性スプラインと、を有する、侵襲性プローブと、
前記コイルにより出力される前記電気信号を受信及び処理することで前記体内の前記可撓性スプラインのそれぞれの位置を導き出すように結合されている、プロセッサと、を備える、医療装置。
(2) 前記可撓性スプラインが、それぞれ遠位末端及び近位末端を有し、該遠位末端及び近位末端の両方において互いに連結されることでバスケットアセンブリを画定し、該バスケットアセンブリは、前記体内への挿入中に前記各スプラインが前記挿入管に対して平行に保持される折り畳み形態と、前記各スプラインが前記体内の空洞内部で径方向外側に弓状に曲がる拡張形態とを有する、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(3) 前記可撓性の多層回路基板は、前記各スプラインが前記空洞内部で径方向外側に弓状に曲がるに十分な弾性を有する、実施態様2に記載の装置。
(4) 前記多層回路基板が、前記1つ以上のコイルに接続され、かつ前記各スプラインの長さに沿って延びることで、前記電気信号を前記プロセッサと結合する更なる導電性トレースを有する、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(5) 前記多層回路基板が、前記体内のそれぞれの位置において組織と接触するように各スプラインの外側表面に配置された電極を含む、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(7) 前記侵襲性プローブが1つ以上の前記可撓性スプライン上の前記多層回路基板に固定された音響トランスデューサを有し、前記多層回路基板が、前記音響トランスデューサに接続され、かつ前記各スプラインの長さに沿って延びることで、前記音響トランスデューサを前記プロセッサと結合する更なる導電性トレースを有する、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(8) 前記1つ以上のコイルが前記スプラインのそれぞれの長さに沿って配置された複数のコイルを含み、かつ前記プロセッサが前記コイルにより出力された前記電気信号から前記各スプラインの位置及び方向の両方を導き出すように構成されている、実施態様1に記載の装置。
(9) 医療診断又は治療を行うための方法であって、
患者の体内に磁場を発生させることと、
前記体内に挿入管の遠位端を挿入することと、
複数の可撓性スプラインを前記挿入管の前記遠位端から前記体内に展開することであって、各スプラインが、可撓性の多層回路基板と、導電性トレースであって、該回路基板の少なくとも1つの層に形成され、かつ前記スプラインの長さに沿って配置され、かつ前記磁場に応じて電気信号を出力する1つ以上のコイルを画定するように構成された、導電性トレースとを有する、ことと、
前記コイルにより出力される前記電気信号を処理することによって前記体内の前記可撓性スプラインのそれぞれの位置を導き出すことと、を含む、医療診断又は治療を行うための方法。
(10) 前記可撓性スプラインは、それぞれ遠位末端及び近位末端を有し、かつ該遠位末端及び近位末端の両方において互いに連結されることでバスケットアセンブリを画定し、該バスケットアセンブリは、前記体内への挿入中に前記各スプラインが前記挿入管に対して平行に保持される折り畳み形態を有し、かつ前記複数の可撓性スプラインを展開することは、前記各スプラインが前記体内の空洞内部で径方向外側に弓状に曲がるように前記バスケットアセンブリを拡張することを含む、実施態様9に記載の方法。
(12) 前記多層回路基板が、前記1つ以上のコイルに接続され、かつ前記各スプラインの長さに沿って延びることで前記電気信号をプロセッサと結合する更なる導電性トレースを有する、実施態様9に記載の方法。
(13) 前記多層回路基板が、前記体内のそれぞれの位置において組織と接触するように各スプラインの外側表面に配置された電極を含む、実施態様9に記載の方法。
(14) 前記電極によって検知された電気的活動と、前記コイルにより出力された前記信号から導き出された前記可撓性スプラインの位置とに応じて前記体内の電気的活動をマッピングすることを含む、実施態様13に記載の方法。
(15) 音響トランスデューサが1つ以上の前記可撓性スプライン上の前記多層回路基板に固定されており、かつ前記方法が、前記音響トランスデューサから放射され、前記体内の組織から前記音響トランスデューサに反射される、超音波の飛行時間を測定することを含む、実施態様9に記載の方法。
(17) 侵襲性プローブを製造するための方法であって、
遠位端を有し、体内に挿入されるように構成された、挿入管を提供することと、
可撓性ポリマー基板上に複数の連続した金属トレースの層及び誘電体材料を堆積することで、前記層のうちの少なくとも1つに形成され、複数のコイルを画定するように構成された導電性トレースを含むフレキシブルプリント回路基板を製造することと、
前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板を複数のリボンにスライスすることと、
前記リボンを、前記挿入管の前記遠位端から延びる可撓性スプラインとして展開することと、を含む、方法。
(18) 前記可撓性スプラインがそれぞれの遠位末端及び近位末端を有し、かつ前記方法が、前記スプラインを、前記遠位末端及び近位末端の両方において互いに連結することでバスケットアセンブリを画定することを含む、実施態様17に記載の方法。
Claims (9)
- 患者の体内に磁場を発生するように構成された1つ以上の磁場発生器と、
侵襲性プローブであって、
遠位端を有し、前記体内に挿入されるように構成された挿入管と、
前記挿入管の前記遠位端から展開されるように構成された複数の可撓性スプラインであって、各スプラインが、可撓性の多層回路基板と、導電性トレースであって、該回路基板の少なくとも1つの層に形成され、かつ前記スプラインの長さに沿って配置され、かつ前記磁場に応じて電気信号を出力する1つ以上のコイルを画定するように構成された、導電性トレースと、を有する、複数の可撓性スプラインと、を有する、侵襲性プローブと、
前記コイルにより出力される前記電気信号を受信及び処理することで前記体内の前記可撓性スプラインのそれぞれの位置を導き出すように結合されている、プロセッサと、を備え、
前記各スプラインが外側表面及び内側表面を備え、
前記多層回路基板が、前記体内のそれぞれの位置において組織と接触するように前記各スプラインの外側表面に配置された電極を備え、
前記電極が前記組織と接触する際に、前記コイルが前記組織と接触しないように、前記コイルが前記各スプラインの内側表面に配置されている、医療装置。 - 前記可撓性スプラインが、それぞれ遠位末端及び近位末端を有し、該遠位末端及び近位末端の両方において互いに連結されることでバスケットアセンブリを画定し、該バスケットアセンブリは、前記体内への挿入中に前記各スプラインが前記挿入管に対して平行に保持される折り畳み形態と、前記各スプラインが前記体内の空洞内部で径方向外側に弓状に曲がる拡張形態とを有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記可撓性の多層回路基板は、前記各スプラインが前記空洞内部で径方向外側に弓状に曲がるように構成されている、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記多層回路基板が、前記1つ以上のコイルに接続され、かつ前記各スプラインの長さに沿って延びることで、前記電気信号を前記プロセッサと結合する更なる導電性トレースを有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記プロセッサが、前記電極によって検知された電気的活動及び前記コイルにより出力された前記電気信号から導き出された前記可撓性スプラインの位置に応じて前記体内の電気的活動をマッピングするように構成されている、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記侵襲性プローブが1つ以上の前記可撓性スプライン上の前記多層回路基板に固定された音響トランスデューサを有し、前記多層回路基板が、前記音響トランスデューサに接続され、かつ前記各スプラインの長さに沿って延びることで、前記音響トランスデューサを前記プロセッサと結合する更なる導電性トレースを有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記1つ以上のコイルが前記スプラインのそれぞれの長さに沿って配置された複数のコイルを含み、かつ前記プロセッサが前記コイルにより出力された前記電気信号から前記各スプラインの位置及び方向の両方を導き出すように構成されている、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 侵襲性プローブを製造するための方法であって、
遠位端を有し、体内に挿入されるように構成された、挿入管を提供することと、
可撓性ポリマー基板上に複数の連続した金属トレースの層及び誘電体材料を堆積することで、前記層のうちの少なくとも1つに形成され、複数のコイルを画定するように構成された導電性トレースを含むフレキシブルプリント回路基板を製造することと、
前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板を複数のリボンにスライスすることと、
前記リボンを、前記挿入管の前記遠位端から延びる可撓性スプラインとして展開することと、を含み、
前記スプラインが外側表面及び内側表面を備え、
前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板が、前記体内のそれぞれの位置において組織と接触するように前記スプラインの外側表面に配置された電極を含み、
前記電極が前記組織と接触する際に、前記コイルが前記組織と接触しないように、前記コイルが前記スプラインの内側表面に配置されている、方法。 - 前記可撓性スプラインがそれぞれの遠位末端及び近位末端を有し、かつ前記方法が、前記スプラインを、前記遠位末端及び近位末端の両方において互いに連結することでバスケットアセンブリを画定することを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
