Claims (14)
- ハウジングであって、加圧ステータ部位と流体接続された血流入口、前記ハウジング内に形成された流路を介して前記加圧ステータ部位と流体接続された繊維束部位であって、前記流路が前記繊維束部位の入口マニホールドと流体接続された繊維束部位、及び前記繊維束部位の出口マニホールドと流体接続された血流出口を有するハウジングと、
前記加圧ステータ部位内に回転可能に配置されて、前記血流入口から前記加圧ステータ部位に入る血液を加圧する羽根車であって、血液を遠心的に半径方向外方へ押し出して前記流路内に入れる羽根車と、
前記繊維束部位内に配置され、少なくとも1つの円筒状の束に形成される複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維を有する繊維束であって、前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維は、血液と前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維の内側との間でガス拡散できるようになっていて、前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維は、血液が、前記繊維束部位を通って流れるときに、前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維の周囲を流れるように配置され、前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維は、前記繊維束部位を略軸方向に通って前記流路から前記血流出口に向かう血液のバルク流の方向に対して略垂直方向に延びている繊維束と、
前記ハウジングに流体接続されるとともに、前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維の入口に流体接続されたガス入口と、
前記ハウジングに流体接続されるとともに、前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維の出口に流体接続されたガス出口と、を備え、
前記繊維束の軸は、前記羽根車の回転面に略平行に方向付けられ、前記流路は、前記血液が前記繊維束の軸と垂直な前記流路から前記入口マニホールド内に導かれるように、前記加圧ステータ部位から前記入口マニホールドまで前記ハウジングの側壁に沿って上方に延びている、

前記略円筒状の束は、複数の織物繊維を有し、前記複数の織物繊維の層のそれぞれは、ガス透過可能な中空繊維を有しており、
織物繊維の隣り合う層は、繊維織物の隣り合う層における前記複数のガス透過可能な中空繊維の向きが異なる向きとなるように、互いに対して回転されている

請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の体外システム。 - 前記繊維束の断面積は、3.14平方インチ以下である、
請求項4に記載の体外システム。 - 前記繊維束の長さは、少なくとも1.8インチである、
