Claims (11)
- ヒト患者の眼における網膜色素上皮(RPE)細胞によって摂取される蛍光化合物を含む組成物であって、前記蛍光化合物はインドシアニングリーン(ICG)であり、前記組成物は乾性加齢性黄斑変性(AMD)または網状偽ドルーゼン(RPD)を診断するための方法において使用することを特徴とし、前記方法は、
(a)前記組成物を前記患者に全身的に投与する、工程、
(b)約600nm〜約900nmの波長を有する光を眼に曝露する工程であって、前記曝露は前記蛍光化合物の投与後少なくとも約24時間後に行う、工程、および
(c)前記患者の眼におけるRPE損傷または網膜外層の喪失のパッチ内の二次元空間蛍光パターンを検出する工程であって、前記蛍光パターンは前記患者における臨床的な乾性AMDまたはRPDの存在の兆候である、工程、
を含む、組成物。 - 前記曝露および検出はICGの再投与無しに行われる、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記蛍光はRPE細胞において生じる、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記曝露はICGの移行段階中には行われない、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記曝露は蛍光化合物投与の約48時間後に行われる、請求項1に記載の組成物。

- 前記方法は、共焦点走査レーザー検眼鏡(cSLO)、眼底自発蛍光(FAF)、または光干渉断層法(OCT)を行うことを含む、請求項1に記載の組成物。

- 前記パターンは、OCTにより観察される、RPEおよび/または網膜外層の喪失または網膜下腔で見られる隆起、三角形、ピークまたはスパイクの断面パターンまたは横方向パターンである、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記方法は、(i)さらなる量の前記蛍光化合物を前記患者にまたは(ii)第二の蛍光化合物を前記患者に投与することを含まない、請求項1に記載の組成物。
