Claims (10)
- 少なくとも2つのピーク波長を有する第1光を出力する第1光源及び前記2つのピーク波長と異なるピーク波長を含む第2光を出力する第2光源を含むバックライトユニットと、
前記第1光及び前記第2光を受けて入力映像データに対応する映像を表示する表示パネルと、
前記入力映像データに基づいて既設定されたディミング領域のカラー情報を分析し、前記カラー情報にしたがって前記既設定されたディミング領域の各々の目標輝度に対する前記第1光源及び前記第2光源の寄与度を調節する光源駆動部と、を含み、
前記第2光の有色光に対応するカラーディミング領域が存在しない場合、前記光源駆動部により、画面全体の輝度ディミングが実施され、
前記第2光の有色光に対応するカラーディミング領域が存在する場合、前記光源駆動部により、前記第2光の有色光に対応するカラーディミング領域に対しては、カラーディミングと輝度ディミングとが実施され、このカラーディミング領域に対応しない領域に対しては、輝度ディミングのみが実施されることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記第1光源は、
第1有色光を出力する第1発光ダイオードチップと、
前記第1発光ダイオードチップ上に形成され、前記第1有色光によって励起されて第2有色光を出力する第1色蛍光体と、
前記第1発光ダイオードチップ上に形成され、前記第1有色光によって励起されて第3有色光を出力する第2色蛍光体と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1有色光は、青色光であり、前記第2有色光は、赤色光であり、前記第3有色光は、緑色光であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2光源は、
第1有色光を出力する第2発光ダイオードチップと、
前記第2発光ダイオードチップ上に具備され、前記第1有色光によって励起されて第4有色光を出力する第3色蛍光体と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1有色光は、青色光であり、前記第4有色光は、シアン色光であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の表示装置。
- 第1項において、前記第2光源は、
第4有色光を出力する第3発光ダイオードチップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第4有色光は、シアン色光であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1光源は、
青色光を出力する青色発光ダイオードチップと、
前記青色発光ダイオードチップ上に具備され、前記青色光によって励起されてイエロー色光を出力するイエローの色蛍光体と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記表示パネルには、前記既設定されたディミング領域が複数個形成され行列形態に定義され、
前記バックライトユニットは、前記既設定されたディミング領域に対応して具備される複数の光源ブロックを含み、
前記光源ブロックの各々には、前記第1光源及び前記第2光源で形成された光源グループが少なくとも1つ配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1光源は、白色光を出力するホワイト光源であり、前記第2光源は、シアン色光を出力するシアン光源であることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の表示装置。
