Claims (10)
- 翼(38)の壁(72)を通るレーザドリル(41)の貫通(222)を判定するための方法であって、
前記レーザドリル(41)を使用して前記翼(38)の前記壁(72)に孔(52)を穿つステップ(102)であり、前記翼(38)が前記壁(72)に隣接する空洞(46)を形成し、前記レーザドリル(41)がレーザを利用し、前記レーザはパルスレートを規定するパルスレーザである、ステップ(102)と、
前記パルスレーザの前記パルスレートよりも低い頻度で加工条件を感知するステップ(152)と、
予め定められた閾値(BT)を超える前記加工条件の変化を感知するステップ(154)であり、前記感知された変化が、前記翼(38)の前記壁(72)を通る前記レーザの貫通(222)を示す、ステップ(154)と、
加工条件の変化を感知する前記ステップに続いて、前記翼(38)の前記空洞(46)でのバックストライク保護(84)の下に、前記貫通(222)を示した前記孔(52)で前記レーザドリル(41)による穿孔を継続し、前記感知された前記加工条件の変化に続いて追加データを収集するために或る時間に亘って前記加工条件を感知するステップ(156)と、
時間に亘って加工条件を感知する前記ステップに続いて、前記レーザが前記翼(38)の前記壁(72)を貫通したことを判定するステップ(158)であって、予め定められた閾値(BT)を超える前記加工条件の変化が実際の貫通であったことを、予め定められた閾値(BT)を超える前記加工条件の感知された変化および収集された追加データの双方に基づいて確認するステップと、
を含み、
前記レーザドリル(41)を使用して前記翼(38)の前記壁(72)に前記孔(52)を穿つステップ(102)が、前記壁(72)を貫通する前に、前記翼(38)に対して或るパターン(200)で前記レーザドリル(41)を移動させることを含む、
方法。 - 前記感知された加工条件および前記収集された追記データの双方に基づいて前記レーザが前記翼(38)の前記壁(72)を貫通したことを判定するステップ(158)が、前記感知された前記加工条件の変化に続いて前記収集された追加データを処理することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記レーザドリル(41)が、閉じ込めレーザビーム(60)を利用し、
前記閉じ込めレーザビーム(60)が流体コラム内のレーザビームを含み、
前記方法がさらに、前記翼(38)の前記空洞(46)の内側で前記閉じ込めレーザビーム(60)の流体カラム(58)を崩すのに十分な圧力を有しているガス(80)を放出する前記バックストライク保護(84)を用いて、前記翼(38)の前記空洞の前記閉じ込めレーザビームを中断するステップを含む、
