Description
Claims (15)
- 電気外科装置であって、
(a)ハンドピースと、
(b)第1の極と、
(c)第2の極と、
(d)前記ハンドピースに対して静止したブレード電極と、
(e)1以上の導電面を有する幅広のシムから構成された側部電極と、
を備え、前記ブレード電極が、
(i)ほぼ対向している2つの面、及び、当該2つの面を接続している1以上のファセットを有する金属シムと、
(ii)非導電性コーティングであって、前記2つの面の少なくとも一方、及び、前記金属シムの前記1以上のファセットの一部を被覆し、且つ、前記1以上のファセットの遠位部を被覆しない状態に維持する非導電性コーティングと、
を有し、
前記幅広シムが、前記1以上の導電面の少なくとも1つが露出され且つ前記ブレード電極の遠位端が前記側部電極から突き出るように、前記ブレード電極に平行に配置され、前記側部電極が、前記ブレード電極に対して不動であるように固定され、
前記非導電性コーティングが、前記ブレード電極を前記側部電極から絶縁し、且つ、
前記第1極が前記ブレード電極に接続され、前記第2極が前記側部電極に接続されており、
前記側部電極は、前記ブレード電極を少なくとも部分的に取り囲む導電性管を含む、
前記電気外科装置。 - 前記電気外科装置が第1の単極モード及び第2の単極モードで動作可能であり、
前記電気外科装置が第1の単極モードで動作するとき、前記前記第2極が利用されず、
前記電気外科装置が前記第2単極モードで動作するとき、前記第1極及び前記第2極の両方が利用される、請求項1に記載の電気外科装置。 - 前記非導電性コーティングが、前記金属シムの1以上のファセットの全表面積の約5%〜約95%を被覆している、請求項1又は2に記載の電気外科装置。
- 前記ブレード電極が、前記金属シムの1以上のファセットの全表面積の約5%〜約50%を被覆している導電性コーティングを含む、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の電気外科装置。
- 前記ブレード電極の前記非導電性コーティングの表面積の約20%〜約90%が前記側部電極に直接接触している、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電気外科装置。
- 前記電気外科装置が、リターン経路を介してエネルギー源と連通している単一のリターン電極を有する電気外科システムの一部であり、
前記ブレード電極及び前記側部電極の両方が、前記単一のリターン電極と電気的に連通している、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の電気外科装置。 - 前記電気外科装置が、共通のリターン経路を介してエネルギー源と連通している2つ以上のリターン電極を有する電気外科システムの一部である、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の電気外科装置。
- 前記ブレード電極及び前記側部電極が前記エネルギー源と電気的に連通し、
第1の単極モードにおいて、前記エネルギー源からの電気信号が、前記ブレード電極により受信され、且つ前記側部電極によっては受信されず、次いで、前記電気信号が前記単一のリターン電極に伝達され、
第2の単極モードにおいて、前記エネルギー源からの電気信号が、前記ブレード電極及び前記側部電極の両方により受信され、次いで、前記電気信号が前記単一のリターン電極に伝達される、請求項6に記載の電気外科装置。 - 前記ブレード電極及び前記側部電極が、前記エネルギー源と電気的に連通し、
第1の単極モードにおいて、前記エネルギー源からの電気信号が、前記ブレード電極により受信され、且つ前記側部電極によっては受信されず、次いで、前記電気信号が前記単一のリターン電極に伝達され、
第2の単極モードにおいて、前記エネルギー源からの電気信号が前記側部電極により受信され、且つ前記ブレード電極によっては受信されず、次いで、前記電気信号が前記単一のリターン電極に伝達される、請求項6に記載の電気外科装置。 - エネルギー源と前記側部電極との間に1以上のスイッチを有する電気外科システムの一部である電気外科装置であって、
前記第1単極モードにおいて、前記1以上のスイッチの少なくとも1つが、前記エネルギー源からの電気信号が前記側部電極に供給されることを防止されるように開いており、且つ、
前記第2単極モードにおいて、前記1以上のスイッチの少なくとも1つが、前記エネルギー源からの電気信号が前記側部電極に供給されるように閉じている、請求項2〜9のいずれかに記載の電気外科装置。 - 制御装置が、前記電気外科装置を第1単極モードと第2単極モードとの間で動作変更するように、前記1以上のスイッチを含むか又は前記1以上のスイッチと電気的に連通している、請求項10に記載の電気外科装置。
- 前記電気外科装置が、エネルギー源及び1以上のリターン電極を有する電気外科システムの一部であり、
前記電気外科装置が、第1の治療信号を前記第1極から、前記第2極からの第2の治療信号と同時に1以上のリターン電極に送信できる、請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の電気外科装置。 - 前記第2単極モードにおいて、前記第1極及び前記第2極の両方が電気信号を同時に受信して、第1の単極治療電流及び第2の単極治療電流の両方を供給することを前記1以上のスイッチが可能にするように、制御装置が、前記1以上のスイッチを含むか又は前記1以上のスイッチと電気的に連通している、請求項2〜12のいずれかに記載の電気外科装置。
- 前記導電性管が1以上のカットアウトを含み、当該カットアウトが、前記2つの面の少なくとも一部、前記1以上のファセットの一部、及び、前記1以上のファセットの前記遠位部が露出され且つ前記導電性管から遠位方向に突き出ることを可能にしている、請求項1から13のいずれか1項に記載の電気外科装置。
- 前記ブレード電極は、前記金属シムに連結された第1のリードと、第1の電極と、を含み、
前記側部電極は、前記幅広のシムに連結された第2のリードと、第2の電極と、を含み、
前記第2のリードは、前記第1のリードと同軸である、
請求項14に記載の電気外科装置。
