嫌気性チャンバ(Bactron嫌気性チャンバ)内で、脱酸素無菌塩溶液(水1L中の3.1183gのNaCl、1.3082mgのNaHCO3、47.70mgのKCl、72.00mgのCaCl2、54.49mgのMgSO4、172.28mgのNa2SO4、43.92mgのNa2CO3、pHは7に調節)に、デスルホビブリオロンガス(Desulfovibrio longus)ATCC 51456を、107〜108CFU/mLの最終細菌濃度まで播種した。次いで、この細胞懸濁液のアリコートを、選択された活性成分濃度のDBMAL、THPS、及びDBMAL/THPSブレンドで処理した。処理された細胞懸濁液を40℃で24時間インキュベートした後、それぞれの処理及び未処理(対照)細胞懸濁液中の生存細菌を、Modified Baar培地(脱イオン水1L中の2.0gのMgSO4、5.7gのクエン酸ナトリウム.2H2O、1.0gのCaSO4、1.0gのNH4Cl、3.5gの乳酸ナトリウム、1.0gの酵母エキス、0.5gのK2HPO4、0.1gのチオグリコール酸ナトリウム、0.02gのFe(NH4)2(SO4)2、20gのNaCl)への連続希釈法を用いて羅列した。アリコート中の細菌死滅のための最小試験殺生物剤濃度(MBC)により、殺生物効力を決定した。
無菌塩溶液(水1L中の0.2203gのCaCl2、0.1847gのMgSO4、及び0.2033gのNaHCO3、pHは7.4に調節)に、約107CFU/mLの緑膿菌ATCC 10145及び黄色ブドウ球菌ATCC 6538を播種した。

- 2,2−ジブロモマロンアミドと、テトラキス(ヒドロキシメチル)ホスホニウム硫酸塩との相乗的ブレンドを含む、殺生物組成物であって、前記テトラキス(ヒドロキシメチル)ホスホニウム硫酸塩に対する2,2−ジブロモマロンアミドの重量比は、1:4から1:16の間である、前記殺生物組成物。
- 塗料、コーティング、水性エマルション、ラテックス、接着剤、インク、顔料分散物、家庭用もしくは工業用洗浄剤、洗剤、食器用洗剤、鉱物スラリーポリマーエマルション、コーキング剤、テープ接合混合物、消毒剤、殺菌剤、金属加工流体、パーソナルケア製品、布地用の流体、スピン仕上げ剤、工業プロセス水、油田及びガス田において注入/破砕、逆流、もしくは随伴する水、流体、もしくは機能性流体、燃料、廃水、バラスト水、水泳プール水、または温泉水である、請求項1に記載の殺生物組成物。
- 水性または水含有系における微生物増殖及び代謝活性を制御するための方法であって、前記水性または水含有系を、有効量の請求項1に記載の組成物で処理することを含む、前記方法。
