Description
しかしながら、このように水位計に光給電する場合、当該光給電に用いる光信号(光給電信号)の強度(光電力)は、水位計測データを伝送するための光信号の強度よりも大幅に大きいので、例えば水位計測システムに何らかの異常が発生した場合には、光給電信号の給電用光ファイバへの出力を速やかに停止させる必要がある。
本実施形態に係る光給電型水位計は、図1に示すように発信器G(水位検出器)、光ケーブルC及び変換器Tを備えている。
(1)上記実施形態では、発信器Gから受信した多重化信号に基づいて変換器Tで光ケーブルCの異常を判定したが、本発明はこれに限定されない。発信器Gから受信する多重化信号以外の信号に基づいて光ケーブルCの異常を判定してもよい。

Claims (2)
- 外部から受信する光給電信号から得られる電力に基づいて作動し、水位を示す水位データを出力する水位検出器と、
該水位検出器に前記光給電信号を供給すると共に、前記水位検出器から取得した前記水位データに所定のデータ処理を施す変換器と、
該変換器から入力される前記光給電信号を前記水位検出器に伝送する給電用光ファイバと、
前記水位検出器から入力される所定の通信信号を前記変換器に伝送する通信信号用伝送線とを備え、
前記変換器は、前記通信信号用伝送線から入力される前記通信信号に基づいて前記給電用光ファイバに異常が発生したか否かを検知し、前記給電用光ファイバに異常が発生すると当該給電用光ファイバへの前記光給電信号の出力を停止し、
前記通信信号は、所定周期のクロック信号に前記水位データを示す符合を多重化した多重化信号であり、
前記変換器は、前記多重化信号に基づいて前記給電用光ファイバの異常を判定することを特徴とする光給電型水位計。 - 前記通信信号は、RZ(Return to Zero)方式のデジタル信号であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光給電型水位計。
