弾道試験が、真空パネル裏当て材の衝撃波軽減および背面変形の結果として生じる深さに対する影響を判定するために行われた。
表2においてデータで示されているように、NanoPore真空パネルを裏当て材として使用する発明の例10〜12では、他の裏当て材を使用して、または裏当て材を使用せずに試験された試料と比較して著しく低く測定された9mm BFS(改善されたBFS性能)を有していた。3つの発明の例に対する平均9mm BFSは20.5mmであった。McMaster−Carr Neoprene/EPDM/SBr独立気泡発泡体を裏当て材として使用した比較例1〜3に対する平均9mm BFSは、27.3mmであった。United Foam照射架橋ポリエチレン独立気泡発泡体を裏当て材として使用した比較例4〜6に対する平均9mm BFSは、27.0mmであった。接着剤裏当て耐水性超緩衝開放気泡ポリウレタン発泡体を裏当て材として使用した比較例7〜9に対する平均9mm BFSは、28.1mmであった。Supracor可撓性独立気泡ハニカム材料を裏当て材として使用した比較例13に対する9mm BFSは、27.1mmであった。Honeywell専用不織PE布防護具を裏当て材として使用した比較例14〜15に対する平均9mm BFSは、30.15mmであった。Supracor可撓性開放気泡ハニカム材料を裏当て材として使用した比較例16に対する9mm BFSは、27.3 mmであった。Supracor可撓性開放気泡ハニカム材料を裏当て材として使用した比較例17に対する9mm BFSは、28.3mmであった。裏当て材を使用せずに試験された比較例18〜19に対する平均9mm BFSでは性能は最悪で、平均BFSは34.4mmであった。
Claims (7)
- a)第1および第2の表面を有する真空パネルであって、エンクロージャおよび前記エンクロージャによって画成される内部容積を備え、前記真空パネルは、封止された、軟質ポリマー外皮を備えるとともに、前記内部容積内の物理的支持材料または構造体を有するか、または前記真空パネルは、真空中にあってもその形状を保つことができる硬質材料から加工された壁を有するとともに、前記真空パネルの前記内部容積の100%が非占有の空間であり、前記内部容積が真空圧力下にある、真空パネルと、
b)前記真空パネルの前記第1および第2の表面のうちの少なくとも一方と直接的に結合された少なくとも1つの弾道抵抗性基材であって、約7g/デニール以上の強度および約150g/デニール以上の引張弾性率を有する繊維および/またはテープを備える弾道抵抗性基材と、
を備える弾道抵抗性物品。 - a)第1および第2の表面を有する真空パネルであって、エンクロージャおよび前記エンクロージャによって画成される内部容積を備え、前記真空パネルは、封止された、軟質ポリマー外皮を備えるとともに、前記内部容積内の物理的支持材料または構造体を有するか、または前記真空パネルは、真空中にあってもその形状を保つことができる硬質金属から加工された壁を有するとともに、前記真空パネルの前記内部容積の100%が非占有の空間であり、前記内部容積が真空圧力下にある、真空パネルと、

a)第1および第2の表面を有する真空パネルを実現するステップであって、前記真空パネルはエンクロージャおよび前記エンクロージャによって画成される内部容積を備え、前記真空パネルは、封止された、軟質ポリマー外皮を備えるとともに、前記内部容積内の物理的支持材料または構造体を有するか、または前記真空パネルは、真空中にあってもその形状を保つことができる硬質材料から加工された壁を有するとともに、前記真空パネルの前記内部容積の100%が非占有の空間であり、前記内部容積が真空圧力下にある、ステップと、
b)少なくとも1つの弾道抵抗性基材を前記真空パネルの前記第1および第2の表面のうちの少なくとも一方と結合するステップであって、前記基材は約7g/デニール以上の強度および約150g/デニール以上の引張弾性率を有する繊維および/またはテープを備え、
前記少なくとも1つの弾道抵抗性基材は、前記弾道抵抗性物品の打面として位置決めされ、前記真空パネルは、前記少なくとも1つの弾道抵抗性基材との発射体の衝突から開始するいかなる衝撃波をも受けるために前記少なくとも1つの弾道抵抗性基材の背後に位置決めされる、方法。 - 前記物品は、背面変形の程度を低減させるための身体防護具物品である請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記真空パネルは、金属から加工される壁を有する請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記真空パネルは、封止された、軟質ポリマー外皮を備え、前記ポリマー外皮は、アルミニウムまたは酸化アルミニウムで金属化されるか、または前記ポリマー外皮は、金属箔でラミネートされる請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記真空パネルの壁は、ステンレス鋼、チタン、または金属合金から加工される請求項5に記載の物品。
