Claims (15)
- 神経刺激のための及びユーザにより前記神経刺激を制御するための神経刺激システムであって、
刺激期間中の神経刺激パルスのパターンを表す刺激波形を格納するストレージデバイスと、
前記刺激波形に従って前記神経刺激パルスの送出を制御する複数の刺激パラメータを発生させるように構成されたプログラミング制御回路と、
前記ストレージデバイスと前記プログラミング制御回路とに結合され、各々が刺激期間中の時間の関数である1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線の関数として前記刺激波形を定義するように構成され、1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線が各々ユーザプログラマブルパラメータを表す、グラフィカルユーザインタフェース(GUI)と、を含み、
前記GUIは、波形定義モジュールを含み、この波形定義モジュールは、
前記刺激波形を提示し、
前記1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線の各パラメータ曲線をグラフィック的に調節可能な曲線として提示し、
ユーザにより実行されるグラフィック的方法を用いて、前記各パラメータ曲線の調節を可能にし、かつ
前記各パラメータ曲線の調節に応答して前記刺激波形を更新する、
ように構成されている、神経刺激システム。 - 刺激デバイスをさらに含み、この刺激デバイスは、
前記神経刺激パルスを送出するように構成された刺激出力回路と、
前記複数の刺激パラメータを用いて前記神経刺激パルスの送出を制御するように構成された刺激制御回路と、を含み、
プログラミングデバイスをさらに含み、このプログラミングデバイスは、前記刺激デバイスに通信的に結合され、前記ストレージデバイス,前記プログラミング制御回路,及び前記GUIを含む、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記刺激デバイスは、前記複数の刺激パラメータを受信するように構成されたインプラント遠隔測定回路を含む埋込可能な刺激器を含み、
前記プログラミングデバイスは、無線遠隔測定リンクを通じて該複数の刺激パラメータを該埋込可能な刺激器に送信するように構成された外部遠隔測定回路を含む外部プログラマーを含む、請求項2に記載のシステム。 - 前記波形定義モジュールは、
前記1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線のうちのパラメータ曲線上に各々置かれ該パラメータ曲線によって表される前記ユーザプログラマブルパラメータの値に対応する、1又は2以上のハンドルを提示し、
前記1又は2以上のハンドルのうちのハンドルを移動させることによって前記パラメータ曲線の調節を可能にする、ように更に構成されている、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。 - 前記波形定義モジュールは、前記パラメータ曲線上に置かれた前記1又は2以上のハンドルへの新しいハンドルの追加と、該パラメータ曲線上に置かれた該1又は2以上のハンドルからのハンドルの削除と、を可能にするように更に構成されている、請求項4に記載のシステム。
- 前記ストレージデバイスは、1又は2以上のテンプレート波形を含むパターンライブラリを更に格納し、
前記波形定義モジュールは、該パターンライブラリからテンプレート波形を選択し、選択したテンプレート波形を前記刺激波形として提示するように更に構成されている、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。 - 前記波形定義モジュールは、更新された刺激波形を新しいテンプレート波形として前記1又は2以上のテンプレート波形に追加することを可能にするように更に構成されている、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記波形定義モジュールは、パルスタイプインジケータと共に前記刺激波形を包絡曲線として提示するように構成されており、
該包絡曲線は、前記神経刺激パルスのうちの1又は2以上のパルスを各々が含むオン期間と、該神経刺激パルスを含まないオフ期間と、を指定し、
該オン期間の各々が、1又は2以上のパルスタイプのうちのパルスタイプに割り当てられ、該パルスタイプインジケータの各々が、該オン期間のうちの1つが割り当てられる該パルスタイプを指定する、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のシステム。 - 前記ストレージデバイスは、1又は2以上のパルスタイプを含むパルスライブラリを更に格納し、
前記波形定義モジュールは、前記包絡曲線内のオン期間のうちの1又は2以上のオン期間の選択と、選択された1又は2以上のオン期間の指定されたパルスタイプへの割り当てと、を可能にするように更に構成されている、請求項8に記載のシステム。 - 前記波形定義モジュールは、前記パルスライブラリに追加されることになる新しいパルスタイプの生成と、該パルスライブラリ内の1又は2以上のパルスタイプの各パルスタイプの調節と、を可能にするように更に構成されている、請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記波形定義モジュールは、
前記1又は2以上のパルスタイプから選択されたパルスタイプのパルス波形を提示し、 選択されたパルスタイプの前記パルス波形の修正を可能にする、ように更に構成されている、請求項10に記載のシステム。 - ユーザによる刺激波形の定義方法であって、
グラフィカルユーザインタフェース(GUI)上に、刺激波形を提示する段階であって、該刺激波形が、刺激期間中の神経刺激パルスのパターンを表し、且つ各々が刺激期間中の時間の関数である1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線の関数であり、該1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線の各々がユーザプログラマブルパラメータを表す、前記刺激波形を提示する段階と、
前記GUI上に、前記1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線をそれぞれグラフィック的に調節可能な曲線として提示する段階と、
前記1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線の各パラメータ曲線の、前記ユーザによる前記GUIを用いたグラフィック的な調節を可能にする段階と、
各パラメータ曲線の調節に応答して前記刺激波形を更新する段階と、
を含む方法。 - 前記1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線のうちのパラメータ曲線上に各々置かれ該パラメータ曲線によって表される前記ユーザプログラマブルパラメータの値に対応する、1又は2以上のハンドルを前記GUI上に提示する段階と、
前記パラメータ曲線上に置かれた前記1又は2以上のハンドルのうちのハンドルの、前記ユーザによる選択を可能にする段階と、
選択されたハンドルを移動することによる前記パラメータ曲線の、前記ユーザによる調節を可能にする段階と、
前記パラメータ曲線上に置かれた前記1又は2以上のハンドルへの新しいハンドルの、前記ユーザによる追加を可能にする段階と、
前記パラメータ曲線上に置かれた前記1又は2以上のハンドルのうちのハンドルの、前記ユーザによる削除を可能にする段階と、を更に含む、請求項12に記載の方法。 - 前記1又は2以上の調節可能パラメータ曲線を提示する段階は、パルス周波数を表す周波数曲線、パルス幅を表す持続時間曲線、及び、パルス振幅を表す振幅曲線のうちの1又は2以上を提示する段階を含む、請求項12又は13に記載の方法。
- 前記刺激波形を提示する段階は、パルスタイプインジケータと共に包絡曲線を提示する段階を含み、
該包絡曲線は、前記神経刺激パルスのうちの1又は2以上のパルスを各々が含むオン期間と、該神経刺激パルスを含まないオフ期間と、を指定し、
該オン期間の各々が、1又は2以上のパルスタイプのうちのパルスタイプに割り当てられ、該パルスタイプインジケータの各々が、該オン期間のうちの1つが割り当てられる該パルスタイプを指定する、請求項12〜14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
