図12は、例示的底部プラテン102の概略平面図である。頂部プラテン106(具体的には図示略)には1個の直径1.6mmの中央穴を設け、底部プラテン106には一辺の長さが60mmの正六角形のパターンに配置された6個の直径1.6mmの穴106を設けた。図13は、対向するプラテン102’,106を離すのに必要な力を、図13の写真図に示された例示的なセル状スラブ120を作製するときの引張速度の関数として示している。
図16は、上述のような規則的な(閉じた)セルのセル状材料および国際公開第WO2012/162784号に開示されているような不規則的に分布したセルの材料に関する、測定された圧縮応力―ひずみ曲線を図示している。図16の黒の実線はプレート(図12)の穴の六角形配列を用いて作られた規則的な(かつ閉じたセルの)構造に関する測定された圧縮応力―ひずみ曲線を示し、それに対し破線は穴のないプラテンを用いて作られた確率論的な(かつ開いたセルの)構造(例えば、国際公開第WO2012/162784号に開示されているもの)に関する場合を示している。両方のサンプルを同じ高溶融強度ポリプロピレン開始材料(ボレアリス(Borealis)社、ダプロイ(Daploy)HMS WB135ポリプロピレン)から形成した。
Claims (18)
- 貫通して延びる開口部を少なくとも一方に備えた対向する二つの表面を用意し、
延伸性材料を対向する二つの前記表面の間に用意し、
対向する二つの該表面の間で前記延伸性材料全体を溶融させて、対向する二つの前記表面に接着される溶融した前記延伸性材料の均一な粘性溶融層を形成し、
対向する二つの前記表面の少なくとも一方を他方から離れる方向に動かし、対向する二つの該表面の間の溶融した前記延伸性材料を延伸し、その際に溶融した前記延伸性材料に前記開口部を通して流体を入れて、該開口部によって定められる位置で溶融した前記延伸性材料中に空隙の境界を定め、
前記延伸性材料を固化してセル状スラブを形成するセル状スラブの形成方法。 - 溶融した前記延伸性材料が熱延伸性材料を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱延伸性材料が熱可塑材を含む請求項2に記載の方法。
- 溶融した前記延伸性材料が熱硬化性延伸性材料を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱硬化性材料がエポキシ樹脂、ポリエステル、ポリウレタン、フェノール樹脂、合成ゴムの少なくとも一つを含む請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記流体が空気である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 対向する二つの前記表面が互いに実質的に平行である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記表面が実質的に平面である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 対向する二つの前記表面が溶融した前記延伸性材料の表層に付着する請求項1に記載の方法。

- 前記開口部が対向する二つの前記表面の両方に形成されている請求項1に記載の方法。
- 対向する二つの前記表面の一方にある前記開口部の各々が、対向する二つの前記表面の他方にある対応する開口部と略一直線上に並んでいる請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記延伸性材料が強化材料を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記強化材料が炭素繊維、鉄繊維、合金繊維およびナノ粒子の少なくとも一つを含む請求項15に記載の方法。
- 対向する前記延伸性材料と二つの前記表面の少なくなくとも一つとの間に強化層を介在させることをさらに含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 対向する二つの前記表面の離れていく少なくとも一方が、他方から動かされるにつれて前記開口部の少なくともいくつかを通る前記流体の流れを制限することをさらに含む請求項1に記載の方法。
