As exterior materials for secondary batteries such as lithium-ion batteries, exterior materials made of multilayer films that are lighter, have higher heat dissipation than conventional metal cans, and can be used at low cost are widely used. ing. As such an exterior material, for example, a laminate in which a base material layer, a metal foil layer made of aluminum or the like, and a sealant layer are laminated is widely known.
In the case of forming a secondary battery using the outer packaging material, for example, a concave portion is formed by cold molding in one portion when the outer packaging material is folded in half, and a positive electrode, a separator, a negative electrode, an electrolytic solution are formed in the concave portion. And the like, and the remaining part is folded and the edge part is heat-sealed and sealed. The secondary battery formed in this way is also called a battery pack or a battery cell.
In recent years, an attempt has been made to use a metal foil that does not use a metal foil. In this connection,
However, the thin film used in

As shown in FIG. 1, the

In the present invention, “electrolytic solution resistance” refers to resistance to corrosion by hydrofluoric acid generated by the reaction between the electrolytic solution used in the battery and moisture.

In the present embodiment, the example in which the moisture absorption layer is provided on one surface of the base material layer has been described. However, the formation position of the moisture absorption layer is not limited to this, and it is possible to prevent contact between the electrolytic solution and moisture. It does not matter where it is possible. For example, you may provide between a base material layer and a barrier layer, or between a barrier layer and an anchor layer.
Furthermore, instead of forming the moisture absorption layer, the anchor layer may contain a material for the moisture absorption layer. When the anchor layer has a multi-layer structure as in the second embodiment, the moisture absorbing material may be contained only in one of the layers.
Although the exterior material of this invention is further demonstrated using an Example and a comparative example, this invention is not limited at all based on the specific content of an Example.

About the exterior material of each example, the electrolyte solution tolerance and the water | moisture-content barrier property were evaluated in the following ways.
[Electrolytic solution resistance evaluation]
The exterior material of each example was cut into a rectangle of 100 mm × 15 mm, and 1.5 M LiPF 6 (lithium hexafluorophosphate) was added to ethylene carbonate / dimethyl carbonate / diethyl carbonate = 1/1/1 (mass ratio). It was immersed in an electrolytic solution that was adjusted and dissolved to stand for a predetermined time. Thereafter, the exterior material was taken out, and the laminate strength between the base material layer and the sealant layer was measured by a T-type peeling method. Two types of standing time were set for 1st and 7th. Evaluation was made in the following three stages.
X (poor): Peeling is recognized before measurement ○ (good): Peeling is not allowed before measurement, laminate strength is less than 3 Newton (N) ◎ (excellent): Peeling is not allowed before measurement, and laminate strength is 3 Newton (N) and above
[Evaluation of moisture barrier properties]
The moisture barrier property evaluation was performed only for the examples. Two pieces of the exterior material of each example were cut out, the sealant layers were opposed, and the three sides were joined by heat sealing so that the inclusion size was 100 mm × 45 mm. 3 g of an electrolyte containing no lithium salt was injected from the opened side, and the side was heat-sealed and sealed. Thereafter, the periphery was trimmed so that the heat seal width was 5 mm, and left in an environment of 40 ° C. and 90% RH (relative humidity) for one day. Thereafter, the moisture content in the encapsulated electrolyte was measured with a Karl Fischer moisture meter to obtain the value of the permeated moisture content, and based on this, the moisture permeability was calculated and used as an indicator of moisture barrier properties.
Evaluation was made in the following three stages.
X (poor): Water permeability is 10 −1 g / m 2 · day or more ○ (good): Water permeability is less than 10 −1 g / m 2 · day 10 −2 g / m 2 · day or more ◎ (Excellent): Water permeability is less than 10 −2 g / m 2 · day or more
