Claims (14)
- 複合構造のための複合材径フィラーであって、
複合材プライのスタックを含むと共に三角形の断面を有し、前記複合材径フィラーを形成する二つの径積層体を含み、当該径積層体の各々は所望の径を有するとともに、前記複合材径フィラーから離れた複合構造の隣接する複合材プライのスタックの径方向と実質的に一致する所望の径方向を有し、一方の前記径積層体に含まれる前記複合材プライのスタックは、他方の前記径積層体に含まれる前記複合材プライのスタックと当接し、各径積層体が、他の径積層体に隣接して整列される少なくとも一つの側面を有するようにトリミングされていることにより、前記複合構造に形成された径フィラー領域に実質的に一致する形状を有するように形成されている複合材径フィラー。 - 前記二つの径積層体が、互いに隣接して整列されることにより実質的に角錐形状の構造を有する複合材径フィラーを形成する第1の径積層体と第2の径積層体である、請求項1に記載の複合材径フィラー。
- 前記複合材径フィラーは、二つ以上の前記径積層体を含み、当該二つ以上の径積層体が、互いに隣接して整列されることにより実質的に角錐形状の構造を有する複合材径フィラーを形成する第1の径積層体と第2の径積層体と第3の径積層体であり、第3の径積層体は第1の径積層体と第2の径積層体との間の部分に位置決めされている、請求項1に記載の複合材径フィラー。
- 複合材径フィラーの形成方法であって、
前記複合材径フィラーは、複合材プライのスタックを含むと共に三角形の断面を有し、前記複合材径フィラーを形成する二つの径積層体を含み、当該径積層体の各々は所望の径を有するとともに、前記複合材径フィラーから離れた複合構造の隣接する複合材プライのスタックの径方向と実質的に一致する所望の径方向を有し、一方の前記径積層体に含まれる前記複合材プライのスタックは、他方の前記径積層体に含まれる前記複合材プライのスタックと当接し、各径積層体が、他の径積層体に隣接して整列される少なくとも一つの側面を有するようにトリミングされていることにより、前記複合構造に形成された径フィラー領域に実質的に一致する形状を有するように形成されている複合材径フィラーであり、
前記二つの径積層体の各々は、複合材積層体レイアップを巻きつけた成形ツールの一又は複数の表面に接するように作成された切り込みにより前記複合材積層体レイアップから取り外される、複合材径フィラーの形成方法。 - 各径積層体の複合材プライのスタックの所望の径方向は、残留熱応力による複合材径フィラーの亀裂を最小化するために、複合材径フィラーの三つの応力集中点における熱膨張係数が、複合材径フィラーを取り囲む複合構造の隣接する複合材プライのスタックの熱膨張係数と実質一致するように選択されている、請求項1に記載の複合材径フィラー。
- 複合材径フィラーの形成方法であって、
所望の径を有する成形ツールの周りに複合材プライのスタックからなる積層体を一回以上巻き付けることにより、所望の厚さの複合材積層体レイアップを形成するステップ、
前記複合材積層体レイアップをデバルキングすることにより空隙を除去するステップ、
前記複合材積層体レイアップのすべての継手を、前記複合材積層体レイアップから除去されるべき一又は複数の部分で整列させるステップ、
前記成形ツールの一又は複数の表面に接する一又は複数の切り込みで、前記複合材積層体レイアップから前記一又は複数の除去されるべき部分を除去するステップ、
前記成形ツールから、前記複合材積層体レイアップからなる二つ以上の径積層体を取り外すステップ、並びに
前記二つ以上の径積層体を整列させることにより、複合構造の径フィラー領域に実質的に一致する形状を有する複合材径フィラーを形成するステップであって、各径積層体が所望の径を有するように形成され、複合材プライのスタックの所望の径方向が、複合材径フィラーを取り囲む前記複合構造の隣接する複合材プライのスタックの径方向に実質的に一致している、整列させるステップ
を含む方法。 - 複合材径フィラーの硬化後の各径積層体の荷重伝達を容易にするために、複合材径フィラーの硬化に先立ち、前記二つ以上の径積層体に一又は複数の接着層を適用するステップをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記所望の厚さの前記複合材積層体レイアップを形成するステップは、前記複合材プライのスタックからなる積層体を、前記成形ツールの周りに複数回にわたって連続的に巻き付けることにより、所望の厚さの前記複合材積層体レイアップを形成することを含む、請求項6又は7に記載の方法。
- 前記所望の厚さの前記複合材積層体レイアップを形成するステップは、前記成形ツールの周りに前記複合材プライのスタックからなる積層体を一回巻き付け、前記複合材プライのスタックからなる積層体をバットスプライス又は重ね継ぎすることにより所望の厚さの複合材積層体レイアップを形成することを含む、請求項6ないし8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記所望の厚さの複合材積層体レイアップを形成するため、前記デバルキングすることにより空隙を除去するステップの後に、前記所望の厚さの前記複合材積層体レイアップを形成するステップ及び前記デバルキングするステップの各々を一又は複数回にわたってさらに繰り返すことをさらに含む、請求項6ないし9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記すべての継手を整列させるステップは、前記複合材積層体レイアップの12時の位置、3時の位置、6時の位置、及び9時の位置で前記複合材積層体レイアップの前記継手を整列させることを含む、請求項6ないし10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記一又は複数の除去されるべき部分を除去するステップは、四つの直交する切込みを作成することにより、前記成形ツールの周りに実質的に正方形構造を形成することを含む、請求項6ないし11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記二つ以上の径積層体を整列させるステップは、第1の径積層体、第2の径積層体、及び第3の径積層体を互いに隣接させて整列させることにより、実質的に角錐形状の構造を有する複合材径フィラーを形成することであって、第3の径積層体を第1の径積層体と第2の径積層体との間の部分に位置決めする、形成することを含む、請求項6ないし12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記二つ以上の径積層体を整列させるステップは、複合材径フィラーの熱硬化中に複合材径フィラーの三つの応力集中点における残留熱応力が最小化されるように複合材径フィラーを形成することを含む、請求項6ないし13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
