Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing a porous film having an ultra-low refractive index composed of mesoporous silica having nano-sized pores, and in particular, a mesoporous silica film whose mechanical strength is improved by performing an alkali treatment at low cost. It relates to a method of manufacturing.
Conventionally, porous silica fine particles have been extensively researched and developed in order to form a low refractive index antireflection film. For example, a porous film using mesoporous silica nanoparticles as porous silica fine particles has a high porosity and a low refractive index, and therefore is being considered for use in an antireflection film provided on an optical substrate such as a lens. .
JP-A-2009-237551 (Patent Document 1) discloses an antireflection film using a porous mesoporous silica film in which mesoporous silica nanoparticles having a refractive index of more than 1.10 to 1.35 or less are aggregated, and has a wide wavelength range. It is described that it has excellent antireflection properties against light, scratch resistance, adhesion to a substrate, mechanical strength and moisture resistance.
JP 2009-258711 (Patent Document 2) discloses a first acidic sol obtained by hydrolyzing and polymerizing alkoxysilane with a basic catalyst and an acidic catalyst, and hydrolyzing and polymerizing alkoxysilane with an acidic catalyst. A silica airgel film having a low refractive index and excellent scratch resistance is obtained by applying a mixed sol with the second acidic sol obtained in this way to a substrate and treating the dried film with an alkali. A method of making is disclosed.
However, the method described in Patent Document 2 requires at least one day from the preparation of the sol to the film formation on the substrate and the alkali treatment, and further development of an efficient preparation method is desired.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a method for easily and quickly producing a low refractive index film having excellent antireflection performance and excellent mechanical strength using mesoporous silica particles. If this molar ratio is less than 3.5 × 10 −3 , the refractive index of the porous mesoporous silica film becomes too large. On the other hand, if it is 2.5 × 10 −2 or more, the refractive index of the mesoporous silica porous film becomes too small.
The molar ratio of the cationic surfactant / nonionic surfactant is preferably more than 8 to 60, whereby mesoporous silica nanoparticles having excellent mesopore regularity can be obtained. The molar ratio is more preferably 10-50.
(c) Acidic catalyst As the acidic catalyst, inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid (hydrochloric acid), sulfuric acid and nitric acid, and organic acids such as formic acid and acetic acid can be used.
(ii) Hydrolysis and polycondensation under basic conditions To the resulting acidic sol, a basic catalyst is added to make the solution basic, followed by hydrolysis and polycondensation to complete the reaction. The pH of the solution is preferably adjusted to 9-12.
By adding a basic catalyst, a silicate skeleton is formed around the cationic surfactant micelle, a regular hexagonal array grows, and particles in which silica and the cationic surfactant are combined are formed. . Since the composite particles have a reduced effective charge on the surface as they grow, the nonionic surfactant is adsorbed on the surface. As a result, a mesoporous silica nanoparticle having a surface coated with a nonionic surfactant and having a cationic surfactant in the pores (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “surfactant-mesoporous silica nanoparticle composite”). A sol containing is obtained [see, for example, Hiroaki Imai, “Chemical Industry”, Chemical Industry, September 2005, Vol. 56, No. 9, pp. 688-693]. In the formation process of the mesoporous silica nanoparticles, the growth of the composite particles is suppressed by the adsorption of the nonionic surfactant. Therefore, the mesoporous silica nanoparticles obtained by the preparation method using the above two kinds of surfactants are used. The particle composite has an average particle size of 200 nm or less and a structure in which mesopores are arranged in a hexagonal shape.
As the basic catalyst, ammonia, amine, NaOH and KOH can be used. Method, dip coating method, spray coating method, flow coating method, bar coating method, reverse coating method, flexo method, printing method and the like. If necessary, these coating methods may be used in combination. Among these, the spin coat method and the spray coat method are preferable because they can easily make the film uniform and control the film thickness. The thickness of the film formed of mesoporous silica nanoparticles can be controlled, for example, by adjusting the substrate rotation speed in the spin coating method, the pulling speed in the dipping method, or the concentration of the coating solution. The substrate rotation speed in the spin coating method is preferably 500 to 10,000 rpm, for example.

A porous membrane (hereinafter referred to as “mesoporous silica porous membrane”) is formed. Irradiation with oxygen plasma is performed by plasma treatment using an oxygen-containing gas. As a plasma treatment method, (a) a direct method in which a dried film is placed in an oxygen-containing gas atmosphere and plasma discharge is performed, or (b) a plasma gas obtained by plasma discharge to an oxygen-containing gas is used.
FIG. 2 shows a mesoporous silica porous film 2 obtained by coating and forming mesoporous silica nanoparticles on the surface of the
The average particle size of the
G. Joyner, and P. P. Halenda , J.Am. Chem. As shown in FIG. 3, the mesoporous silica porous membrane 2 preferably has two peaks in the pore size distribution curve obtained by the nitrogen adsorption method. Specifically, an isothermal desorption curve of nitrogen is obtained for the mesoporous silica porous membrane 2, and this is analyzed by the BJH method. In FIG. 3, the horizontal axis is the pore diameter, and the vertical axis is the log differential pore volume. The BJH method is, for example, “a method for obtaining a distribution of mesopores” [E. P. Barrett, L. G. Joyner, and P. P. Halenda, J. P. Am. Chem. Soc., 73, 373 (1951)]. The log differential pore volume is a change amount of the differential pore volume dV with respect to the logarithmic difference value d (logD) of the pore diameter D, and is expressed by dV / d (logD). The first peak on the small pore diameter side indicates the diameter of the intraparticle pores, and the second peak on the large pore diameter side indicates the diameter of the interparticle pores. The mesoporous silica porous membrane 2 preferably has a distribution in which the intraparticle pore diameter is in the range of 2 to 10 nm and the interparticle pore diameter is in the range of 5 to 200 nm.
Preferably, the ratio of the total volume V 2 of the total volume V 1 and the inter-particle pores of the particles within the pores is 1 / 2-1 / 1. The total volumes V 1 and V 2 are determined as follows. In FIG. 3, a straight line passing through the minimum point E of the ordinate between the first and second peaks and parallel to the horizontal axis is defined as the base line L 0, and the maximum slope line of the first peak (tangent line at the maximum slope point). ) Are L 1 and L 2, and the maximum slope line of the second peak (tangent line at the maximum slope point) is L 3 and L 4 . The horizontal axis coordinates at the intersections A to D of the maximum inclination lines L 1 to L 4 and the base line L 0 are D A to D D. By the BJH method, the total volume V 1 of pores in the range from D A to D B and the total volume V 2 of pores in the range from D C to D D are calculated.
Since the mesoporous silica porous film 2 has a low refractive index of 1.1 to 1.25 and a uniform film thickness, it has excellent performance as an antireflection film for light rays in a wide wavelength range. When a mesoporous silica porous film having such an excellent antireflection property is provided on a lens, a ghost caused by a difference in transmitted light amount or transmitted light color between the central portion and the peripheral portion or reflected light at the peripheral portion of the lens Such problems can be significantly reduced. When an optical element having such excellent characteristics is used in a camera, endoscope, binoculars, projector, etc., the image quality can be remarkably improved. Furthermore, the mesoporous silica porous membrane of the present invention has a low production cost and a good yield. A preferred physical film thickness of the mesoporous silica porous membrane 2 is 15 to 500 nm.
The present invention will be described in more detail with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
