前記リード線の本体に結合される伝導体部材と、
前記伝導体部材の周りに配置され、当該伝導体部材を軸方向に沿って囲繞する外部絶縁層であって、前記外部絶縁層は前記伝導体アセンブリの長手方向軸の周りに配置された、複数の略平坦な表面セグメントによって画定された断面形状を有し、隣接する平坦な表面セグメントの全ての交差点が前記長手方向軸から離れるように突出するV字形状の端部を形成することで前記伝導体アセンブリのテクスチャー加工された外部表面を形成するように構成される前記外部絶縁層と、を含む前記伝導体アセンブリと、

- 伝導体アセンブリを形成する工程であって、伝導体部材の上に、当該伝導体部材を軸方向に沿って囲繞する管状ポリマー製の外部絶縁層を、前記伝導体アセンブリの長手方向軸の周りに配置された、複数の略平坦な表面セグメントによって画定された断面形状を有し、隣接する平坦な表面セグメントの全ての交差点が前記長手方向軸から離れるように突出するV字形状の端部を形成することで前記外部絶縁層においてテクスチャー加工された外部表面を形成するように構成される押出ダイスに通して押出すことによって、前記伝導体アセンブリを形成する工程と、
ほぼ平滑な内側の表面を有する、絶縁リード線の本体の伝導体管腔内に前記伝導体アセンブリを配置する工程と、
前記伝導体部材及び前記絶縁リード線の本体に電極を接続する工程と
を備え、
前記外部絶縁層の前記テクスチャー加工された外部表面は前記テクスチャー加工された外部表面及び前記伝導体管腔の内側の表面の間における摩擦応力を最小化させるように構成される埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。 - 請求項10に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記平坦な表面セグメントは前記伝導体アセンブリに沿って長さ方向に延びることを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
- 請求項11に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記伝導体部材はマルチストランドケーブルを含み、前記外部絶縁層は、前記マルチストランドケーブルの周りに形成されることを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
- 請求項10に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記伝導体部材はワイヤコイルを含み、前記外部絶縁層は、前記ワイヤコイルの周りに形成されることを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
- 伝導体アセンブリに含まれる伝導体部材に、当該伝導体部材を軸方向に沿って囲繞する管状ポリマー製の外部絶縁層を配置する工程と、
前記外部絶縁層の外側の表面の少なくとも一部分に、前記伝導体アセンブリの長手方向軸の周りに配置され、かつ複数の略平坦な表面セグメントを有するとともに、隣接する平坦な表面セグメントの全ての交差点が前記長手方向軸から離れるように突出するV字形状の端部を有する表面テクスチャーを追加する工程と、
ほぼ平滑な内側の表面を有する、絶縁リード線の本体の伝導体管腔内に、前記外部絶縁層を備える伝導体アセンブリを配置する工程と、
前記伝導体部材及び前記絶縁リード線の本体に電極を接続する工程と
を備え、
前記表面テクスチャーは前記外部絶縁層及び前記伝導体管腔の内側の表面の間における摩擦を最小化させるように構成される埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。 - 請求項14に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記外部絶縁層の外側の表面の少なくとも一部に前記表面テクスチャーを追加する工程は、前記外部絶縁層の外側の表面に前記表面テクスチャーを追加するように構成された押出ダイスに前記伝導体部材及び絶縁層の両方を通過させる工程を含むことを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
- 請求項14に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記伝導体部材に前記外部絶縁層を配置する工程は、前記伝導体部材に前記外部絶縁層を押出成形する工程を含むことを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
- 請求項14に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記伝導体部材に前記外部絶縁層を配置する配置工程及び前記外部絶縁層の外側の表面の少なくとも一部に前記表面テクスチャーを追加する工程は、前記表面テクスチャーを前記外部絶縁層の外側の表面に追加するように構成された金型で前記外部絶縁層を前記伝導体部材に成形することを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
- 請求項14に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記伝導体部材はマルチストランドケーブルを含むことを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
- 請求項14に記載の埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法において、前記伝導体部材はワイヤコイルを含むことを特徴とする埋め込み型の医療リード線を製造する方法。
