Description
本出願は35 USC§119(e)に基づく、2012年1月5日に出願の米国仮特許出願第61/583、564号の優先権の利益を主張するものであり、その開示はその全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
この故障モードは、カテーテルの内径と導入針の外径との間の不十分な干渉の結果であり得る。加えて、ねじれはまた、カテーテルのリード端上に平滑末端を持つことにより配置中に発生することがあり、このことは、カテーテルが皮膚の外側表面を最初に貫通するときにカテーテルに伝達される過剰な力の原因になることがある。同様に、挿入メカニズムの過度の反発や振動もまた、カテーテルに伝達される過剰な力をもたらす場合がある。
このカテーテルは、一般的な歩行用インスリン輸液ポンプにおいてイオヘキソールで満たされた容器にそれぞれ接続される。サイドポート付きカテーテルを持つ各輸液装置を、麻酔した豚の腹部に手作業挿入を使用して挿入した。輸液装置を挿入した後で、イオヘキソール10Uボーラスを、X線透視下で注入部位を見ながら送達した。カテーテルと皮膚の間の漏れの頻度は、カテーテル先端孔からのサイドポートの距離(x)が増加するにつれて増加することが観察された。試験で観察された7つの漏れのうち6つは、先端孔からサイドポート4mmを有するカテーテル(ポート4mm)にあった。ポート2mm装置及びポート3mm装置では、制御装置、ポート0.5装置、及び、ポート1mm装置よりもかなり浅くデポー(depot)した。試験によって、カテーテル先端孔から1.0ミリメートル以内または6.0mmカテーテルより少ないポート配置(x)は、カテーテル先端部に単一孔だけを持つカテーテルと同様の注入剤の沈着をもたらすことが示された。
Claims (16)
- カテーテルであって、
側壁、第1及び第2の端部、及び、これら端部のそれぞれにおける開口を備えた細長い部材と、
該細長い部材を、該細長い部材の前記端部の前記開口の間で通り抜ける一次流路と、
前記一次流路と流体連通する二次流路と
を備え、
前記二次流路は、前記細長い部材の前記側壁において自己閉鎖型開口を備え、前記自己閉鎖型開口は、前記カテーテル内の内圧が、前記自己閉鎖型開口の長さであって前記カテーテルの軸方向の長さに応じた所定圧力に達すると開くように構成される、カテーテル。 - 注入剤が所定圧力を超えると、前記自己閉鎖型開口が開いて前記注入剤が前記二次流路から流れ出ることを可能にし、及び、前記一次流路内の前記注入剤の圧力が低下すると、
前記自己閉鎖型開口が閉じる、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 - 前記第1の端部における前記開口内に導入された注入剤は、前記カテーテルから前記第2の端部における前記開口及び前記二次流路の一方または両方を通って流れ出る、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- V字形状、I字形状、X字形状、C字形形状、及び、S字形状のうちいずれか一つのスリットを含む、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記二次流路が複数のスリットを含む、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記二次流路がサイドポートを備える、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記サイドポートが前記第2の端部に位置する、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記二次流路がさらに、複数のサイドポートを備える、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
