Description
ギャップと電極間間隔の比はおよそ1:5にすると2次曲線が得られることが事前の検討でわかっている。したがって、図18の示すようにセルギャップと電極間隔の比が1:5から大きくずれた場合、液晶分子61の配向は、透過率分布を2次曲線とは異なった分布としている。なお、図18はホモジニアス配向の場合を記載しているが、TN配向の場合も同様な問題が生ずる。
Claims (6)
- 表示パネルの上に液晶レンズセルが配置された表示装置であって、
前記液晶レンズセルは第1の基板と第2の基板の間にツイスト角が90度であるTNタイプの液晶が挟持され、
前記第1の基板の前記液晶側には、平面ベタで第1の電極が形成され、前記第2の基板の前記液晶側には、平面で見てストライプ状の第2の電極が形成され、
前記液晶レンズセルには複数の液晶レンズが形成され、前記液晶レンズは前記第1の電極と、異なった電圧を印加することが出来る2を超える数の前記第2の電極とで形成され、
前記液晶レンズのピッチQは前記表示パネルの画素ピッチPおよび眼間距離Bとの間に、Q=2P/(1+P/B)なる関係を有し、
第1の液晶レンズと第2の液晶レンズの境界領域には前記異なった電圧のうち最大の電圧が印加される複数の第2の電極が配置されることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 人間の目の位置を検出して位置情報を作成する位置検出器と、前記位置情報を基に前記第2の電極に印加する電圧を作成する第2電極制御器を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 表示パネルの上に液晶レンズセルが配置された表示装置であって、
前記液晶レンズセルは第1の基板と第2の基板の間にツイスト角が90度であるTNタイプの液晶が挟持され、
前記第1の基板の前記液晶側には、平面ベタで第1電極が形成され、前記第2の基板の前記液晶側には、平面で見てストライプ状の上層第2の電極が形成され、前記上層第2の電極の下に絶縁層を挟んで下層第2電極が形成され、
前記第1電極から見て、前記上層第2電極と前記上層第2電極の間は前記下層第2電極が存在し、
前記液晶レンズセルには複数の液晶レンズが形成され、前記液晶レンズは前記第1電極と、異なった電圧を印加することが出来る2を超える数の前記上層第2電極と、異なった電圧を印加することが出来る2を超える数の前記下層第2電極とで形成され、
前記液晶レンズのピッチQは前記表示パネルの画素ピッチPおよび眼間距離Bとの間に、Q=2P/(1+P/B)なる関係を有し、
第1の液晶レンズと第2の液晶レンズの境界領域には前記異なった電圧のうち最大の電圧が印加される複数の上層第2電極と下層第2電極が配置されることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記第1電極から見て、前記上層第2電極と前記上層第2電極の間は前記下層第2電極によって完全に埋められていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。
- 前記下層第2電極の電圧は、前記下層第2電極から見て左上の前記上層第2電極の電圧と同じであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。
- 人間の目の位置を検出して位置情報を作成する位置検出器と、前記位置情報を基に前記上層第2の電極と前記下層第2電極に印加する電圧を作成する第2電極制御器を有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。
