Claims (8)
- 外面を氷から保護する方法であって、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件を検出することと、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件が検出されなかったときに、氷の形成を検出することと、
電気活性ポリマー(EAP)表面上の複数のアクチュエータの少なくとも一部を振動させることと、を含み、
振動させることは、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件が検出されたときに、外面上での氷の形成を防ぐために、第1モードで複数のアクチュエータを振動させること、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件が検出されず、かつ氷の形成が検出されたときに、外面上に形成された氷を除去するために、第2モードで複数のアクチュエータを振動させること、を含む方法。 - 氷の形成を招きやすい条件を検出することに基づき、複数のアクチュエータの少なくとも一部を振動させるため、信号発生器に信号を送信することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第1モードで複数のアクチュエータを振動させることは、外面上での氷の形成を防ぐために、同一周波数で複数のアクチュエータの各々を振動することを含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 第1モードで複数のアクチュエータを振動させることは、約1Hz〜約1kHzの間の周波数で複数のアクチュエータの各々を振動させることを含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 外面の防除氷システムであって、
複数のアクチュエータを有する電気活性ポリマー(EAP)表面と、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件を検出する氷の条件センサーと、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件が検出されなかったときに、氷の形成を検出する氷センサーと、
EAP表面に接続され、かつ、複数のアクチュエータの各々を個々に振動させるよう適合されている信号発生器と、を備え、
信号発生器は、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件が検出されたときに、外面上での氷の形成を防ぐために、第1モードで複数のアクチュエータを振動させるように適合され、
氷の形成を招きやすい条件が検出されず、かつ氷の形成が検出されたときに、外面上に形成された氷を除去するために、第2モードで複数のアクチュエータを振動させるように適合されている、外面の防除氷システム。 - 外面は航空機の前縁である、請求項5に記載のシステム。
- 複数のアクチュエータは、ディンプルアクチュエータ、バンプアクチュエータ、またはリンクルアクチュエータである、請求項5または6に記載のシステム。
- 第1モードは複数のアクチュエータの各々を第1周波数で振動させ、かつ、第2モードは複数のアクチュエータの各々を第2周波数で振動させる、請求項5〜7のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
