Description
オクタノール/水分配係数(logP値)の測定は、JIS日本工業規格Z7260−107(2000)に記載のフラスコ浸とう法により実施することができる。また、オクタノール/水分配係数(logP値)は、JIS日本工業規格Z7260−117(2006)に記載のように、計算化学的手法により見積もることも可能である。

下記化学式(1)のA部の分配係数をPA、B部の分配係数をPBとすると、ポリマーの分配係数はPA+PBとなる。

ただし、
m1+m2=100
n1+n2=100
PA1:Yの構造がY1のときのlogP
PA2:Yの構造がY2のときのlogP
PB1:Yの構造がZ1のときのlogP
PB2:Yの構造がZ2のときのlogP
Yの構造がYi(miモル%)・・・のu成分からなり、Zの構造がZi(niモル%)・・・のv成分からなる共重合ポリマーにおいて、そのポリマーのlogP値は次式で表される。
PBi:Yの構造がZiのときのlogP
<ポリアミド酸>
ポリアミド酸の分子式は下記の化学式(2)によって表される。
ポリアミド酸エステルの分子式は上記の化学式(2)によって表される。ただし、Xはアルキル基(−CH3)である。また、例えば、Yは下記の化学式(Y3)(Y4)にて示されるものであり、Zは下記の化学式(Z3)(Z4)にて示されるものである。
1.30<ΔlogP<2.00の関係式を満たすようにされるのが好ましい。1.40<ΔlogP<1.80の関係式を満たすようにされるのがより好ましい。
ポリイミド前駆体はポリアミド酸エステルとポリアミド酸を含むのが好ましい。配向膜は、偏光紫外線を照射することにより液晶配向能を付与されるのが好ましい。ポリアミド酸エステルは、シクロブタン環を含むのが好ましい。
1.30<ΔlogP<2.00の関係式を満たすようにされるのが好ましい。1.40<ΔlogP<1.80の関係式を満たすようにされるのがより好ましい。

Claims (13)
- 液晶表示装置は、
基板と、
液晶層と、
前記基板と前記液晶層の間に配置された配向膜と、
を具備し、
前記配向膜は2成分以上のポリイミド前駆体から形成されたポリイミドであり、
前記ポリイミド前駆体はポリアミド酸エステルとポリアミド酸を含み、
前記ポリイミド前駆体において、オクタノール/水分配係数をlogPとし、前記logPが最も離れた2成分のlogPの差をΔlogPとすると、1.20<ΔlogP<2.50の関係式を満たすようにされる。 - 請求項1の液晶表示装置において、
1.30<ΔlogP<2.00の関係式を満たすようにされる。 - 請求項2の液晶表示装置において、
1.40<ΔlogP<1.80の関係式を満たすようにされる。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記配向膜は、偏光紫外線を照射することにより液晶配向能を付与されている。 - 請求項4の液晶表示装置において、
前記ポリアミド酸エステルは、シクロブタン環を含む。 - 請求項1の液晶表示装置において、
前記液晶層に電界を印加するための電極群と、
前記電極群に接続された複数のアクティブ素子と、
を備える。 - ポリアミド酸およびポリアミド酸エステルを含む2成分以上のポリイミド前駆体からなり、偏光紫外線が照射されることにより液晶配向能が付与される配向膜材料であって、
前記ポリイミド前駆体において、オクタノール/水分配係数をlogPとし、ポリアミド酸のlogPをlogP(A)とし、ポリアミド酸エステルのlogPをlogP(E)とした場合、logP(A)とlogP(E)との差をΔlogPとすると、1.20<ΔlogP<2.50の関係式が満たされていることを特徴とする配向膜材料。 - 請求項8の配向膜材料において、
1.30<ΔlogP<2.00の関係式を満たすようにされる。 - 請求項9の配向膜材料において、
1.40<ΔlogP<1.80の関係式を満たすようにされる。 - 請求項8乃至10のいずれか1項の配向膜材料において、
前記ポリアミド酸エステルは、シクロブタン環を含む。 - 請求項8乃至12のいずれか1項の配向膜材料において、
前記ポリアミド酸と前記ポリアミド酸エステルのブレンド比が10/90〜90/10である。
