The vehicle front body structure of the vehicle according to the present invention is also provided over the front edge of the front windshield and below the rear edge of the bonnet, and includes a cowl grille extending in the vehicle width direction. The cowl grill is formed between an upper surface portion extending in the vehicle width direction, side wall portions extending in the vehicle front-rear direction at both ends of the upper surface portion in the vehicle width direction, and the upper surface portion and the side wall portions. A notch formed in an opening shape having an open bottom is provided in the side wall, and the slit having a narrow width in the vehicle front-rear direction compared to the notch is the notch. Provided so as to extend in the vehicle width direction from the upper end of the portion, the cutout portion is a cutout portion that promotes crushing of the side wall portion in the vertical direction, and the slit extends in the front-rear direction of the end portion of the cowl grille. It is a slit that promotes mouth deformation The features.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the front end portion and the rear end portion of the first deformation promoting portion or the notch portion extend toward the vehicle front side in the vehicle width direction in the vehicle plan view, and the second deformation The promotion portion or the slit is provided so as to extend obliquely toward the front side of the vehicle toward the inner side in the vehicle width direction in the vehicle plan view.

According to the above configuration, since the inclination direction of the first deformation promoting portion or the notch portion corresponds to the load input direction, the end portion of the cowl grille by the first deformation promoting portion or the notch portion.
3 and 4, the dash lower panel 1 (dash panel) divides the engine room 2 and the vehicle compartment 3 in the front-rear direction, and a cowl panel 4 is provided on the upper part of the dash lower panel 1.
The cowl panel 4 is a panel member that supports an inclined lower portion of a front windshield 6 (so-called front window glass) from below through substantially the entire width in the vehicle width direction through an adhesive 5 as a filler.
Note that front pillars extending from the upper end of the hinge pillar to the roof side rail are provided at the side edge portions on both sides in the vehicle width direction of the above-described front windshield 6 so that the front windshield 6 extends in the vehicle width direction. Side edges on both sides are supported by the front pillars.
As shown in FIG. 2, front side frames 7, 7 extending forward of the vehicle are provided on the left and right sides of the engine room 2 at the front portion of the dash lower panel 1 described above.

The front side frame 7 is a vehicle body rigid member having a closed cross section that extends in the front-rear direction of the vehicle by joining and fixing the front side frame inner and the front side frame outer, and a front end portion of the front side frame 7 includes The crush can is attached via the set plate 8.

In addition, a floor frame 9 is provided at the rear end of the pair of left and right front side frames 7 described above and located below the dash lower panel 1 and the bottom of the floor panel, and the front side frame 7 and the floor frame 9 are arranged in the vehicle longitudinal direction. It is made to continue.
An apron reinforcement 10 extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is provided on the outer side in the vehicle width direction of the front side frame 7 and on the upper side in the vertical direction, and an apron front panel 11 is provided at the front end of the apron reinforcement 10. Is installed.

Also, a suspension tower portion 12 is provided between the front side frame 7 and the apron reinforcement 10 described above, and the suspension tower upper panel 13 constituting the upper portion of the suspension tower portion 12 is connected to the apron reinforcement 10 described above. It is fixed to the joint.

By the way, as shown in FIG. 3, the above-described cowl panel 4 has a length in the vehicle width direction substantially equal to the length in the vehicle width direction at the inclined lower portion of the front windshield 6. An upper surface portion 4A to which the above-described front windshield 6 is joined in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the direction, and extends downward from the upper surface portion 4A, and has an arc shape ahead of the vehicle from the joint portion between the front windshield 6 and the upper surface portion 4A. A bulging portion 4B that bulges out, a vertical wall portion 4C that extends downward from the corner portion 4R via a corner portion 4R below the bulging portion 4B, The lower wall portion 4D extends from the lower end of the vertical wall portion 4C to the front of the vehicle.

Then, the upper surface portion 4A, the bulging portion 4B, the corner portion 4R, the vertical wall portion 4C, and the lower surface portion 4D are integrally formed so that the cross-sectional shape in a side view is substantially S-shaped. In this way, the cowl panel 4 has a substantially S-shaped cross section, and the bulging part 4B ensures a wide space behind the cowl panel 4, thereby improving the degree of freedom in interior design and increasing the bulging part. With the 4B forward projecting structure, it is possible to secure the support rigidity of the front windshield 6, that is, the glass support rigidity, and when a collision load is input, the normal state (the state before the deformation) is changed to the first stage (the initial stage of deformation). Then, the bulging portion 4B is deformed downward and rearward to absorb the collision energy, and then, in the second stage (the latter stage of deformation), the vertical wall portion 4C is moved rearward to absorb the collision energy, thereby It is configured to ensure the pedestrian protection performance.

Further, as shown in FIG. 3, a reinforcing member 14 is provided on the rear side of the cowl panel 4 (so-called S-shaped cowl). A plurality of the reinforcing members 14 are provided apart from each other in the vehicle width direction, but only one of them is shown in the drawing.

As shown in FIG. 3, a cowl front panel 15 having a substantially concave cross section in a side view is joined and fixed to the front side of the lower surface portion 4D of the cowl panel 4, and the cowl front panel 15 and the above-described substantially S-shaped cross section. The cowl panel 16 having an open cowl structure is constituted by both the shape cowl panel 4.
Here, the above-described cowl front panel 15 includes a lower surface portion 15a whose rear portion is joined to the front upper surface of the lower surface portion 4D of the cowl panel 4, a vertical wall portion 15b that rises upward from the front end of the lower surface portion 15a, An upper surface portion 15c extending forward from the upper end of the vertical wall portion 15b is integrally formed.
As shown in FIG. 3, a cowl cross member 17 extending in the vehicle width direction is joined between the lower side of the upper surface portion 15c and the lower side of the lower surface portion 15a of the cowl front panel 15, and the cowl cross member 17 is joined. A cowl closed section 18 extending in the vehicle width direction is formed between the front panel 15 and the cowl front panel 15.
Since the cowl front panel 15 and the cowl cross member 17 do not exist at the end of the cowl portion 16 in the vehicle width direction, the cowl 16 has a cowl at the end as shown in FIG. A side bracket 19 extending from the panel 4 to the front of the vehicle is provided.

Further, as shown in FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, the upper portion of the engine room 2 is covered with a bonnet 20 so that the hood 20 can be opened and closed. It is comprised by hemming joining with the bonnet inner panel 22 which comprises the surface of the engine room 2 side. The above-described notch portion 41 is formed in an opening shape having an open bottom, and has a front side portion 41a, a rear side portion 41b, and an upper side portion 41c as a lip, and promotes the first deformation. As shown in FIG. 8, the front side 41a of the notch 41, which is the front end of the part, and the rear side 41b of the notch 41, which is the rear end of the first deformation promoting part, are viewed in a plan view of the vehicle. Thus, the inner side in the vehicle width direction is formed to extend toward the front side of the vehicle.

In addition, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, a slit 42 is provided as a second deformation promoting portion that is narrower in the vehicle front-rear direction than the notch 41, and this slit 42 is used as the upper end of the notch 41. That is, it is formed so as to extend from the upper side portion 41c to the side wall portion 36 and the upper surface portion 31 (specifically, the upper surface front portion 31A) so as to cross the above-described corner portion 37 and mainly extend in the vehicle width direction. Yes.
By providing the above-described two-stage deformation promoting portion of the notch portion 41 and the slit 42, the notch portion 41 promotes the vertical collapse of the side wall portion 36 of the cowl grill 30 at the time of a collision, and the slit 42 It is configured to promote opening deformation in the front-rear direction of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of the cowl grill 30 and to promote collapsing of the part by cooperating with these to ensure stable pedestrian protection performance. is there.

As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, at the vehicle width direction end of the cowl grill 30, the slope between the upper front portion 31 </ b> A and the corner portion 37 is higher in the vehicle width direction outer side and lower in the vehicle width direction inner side. A portion 43 is formed, and a ridge line portion 44 is provided between the slope portion 43 and the upper surface front portion 31A. The ridge portion 44 extends from the corner portion 37 so as to incline in the vehicle width direction toward the vehicle front side in plan view of the vehicle. ing.
Here, the above-described upper surface front portion 31A, the ridge line portion 44, and the slope portion 43 constitute a V-shaped path through which drainage such as rainwater flows, and the ridge line portion 44 is V-shaped. It is set at the groove bottom of the path.

As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the slit 42 as the above-described second deformation promoting portion is provided so as to pass through the intersection of the ridge line portion 44 and the corner portion 37. By passing through a portion where stress is concentrated (that is, the intersection of the ridge line portion 44 and the corner portion 37), a load is efficiently applied to the slit 42, and the mouth end of the cowl grill 30 in the front-rear direction is opened. It is configured to further promote the deformation.

Further, as shown in FIG. 8, the above-described slit 42, particularly a portion located in the upper front portion 31 </ b> A of the slit 42, is provided so as to be inclined and extend toward the vehicle front side in the vehicle width direction in the vehicle plan view. It has been.
As described above, the front side portion 41a and the rear side portion 41b of the cutout portion 41 are also provided to be inclined and extend toward the vehicle front side in the vehicle width direction in the vehicle plan view. As shown by an arrow X in FIG. 4, the inclination direction of the portion 41 is made to correspond to the load input direction, and the notch portion 41 causes the vehicle width direction end portion of the cowl grill 30 to be crushed in the vertical direction. It is configured to be further promoted.

Further, by inclining the slit 42 so as to correspond to the inclining direction of the notch 41, the opening deformation in the front-rear direction of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of the cowl grill 30 by the slit 42 is further promoted. It is comprised so that.
In the figure, arrow F indicates the front of the vehicle, arrow R indicates the rear of the vehicle, arrow IN indicates the inward in the vehicle width direction, and arrow OUT indicates the outward in the vehicle width direction.

The illustrated embodiment is configured as described above, and the operation will be described below.
When a collision load is input to the end of the cowl grill 30 in the vehicle width direction from the arrow X direction shown in FIG. 4, the stress is concentrated most at the intersection of the ridge line portion 44 and the corner portion 37, and the slit 42 passes through the intersection. As a result, the end of the cowl grill 30 in the vehicle width direction is opened and deformed in the vehicle front-rear direction, and the side wall 36 of the cowl grill 30 is crushed in the vertical direction by the notch 41 to absorb the collision energy.

In particular, since the notch portion 41 and the slit 42 are provided as a two-stage deformation promoting portion, the deformation of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of the cowl grill 30 is promoted by the cooperation of both 41 and 42, and the cowl grill 30. In the structure in which the side wall portion 36 and the corner portion 37 are formed at the end portion in the vehicle width direction, the amount of deformation of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of the cowl grill 30 at the time of collision can be increased to enhance the pedestrian protection performance. It can be done.

As described above, the vehicle body structure of the vehicle according to the above embodiment includes the cowl grill 30 provided from the front edge of the front windshield 6 to the lower side of the rear edge of the bonnet 20 and extending in the vehicle width direction. In the vehicle front body structure of the vehicle, the cowl grill 30 includes an upper surface portion 31 extending in the vehicle width direction, side wall portions 36 extending in the vehicle front-rear direction at both ends of the upper surface portion 31 in the vehicle width direction, and the upper surface portion. 31 and a corner portion 37 formed between the side wall portion 36, a first deformation promotion portion (see the notch portion 41) is provided on the side wall portion 36, and the first deformation promotion portion ( The second deformation promoting portion (see the slit 42), which is narrower in the vehicle front-rear direction than the notched portion 41), has the side wall portion 36 and the upper surface from the upper end of the first deformation promoting portion (notched portion 41). It extends across the section 31 and crosses the corner section 37. And is provided in so that (Fig. 4, see FIGS. 7 and 8).
According to this configuration, by adopting the two-stage deformation promoting portion of the first deformation promoting portion (notch portion 41) and the second deformation promoting portion (slit 42), the first deformation promoting portion at the time of collision. The (notch portion 41) can promote the crushing of the side wall portion 36 of the cowl grill 30 in the vertical direction, and the second deformation promoting portion (slit 42) deforms the mouth end of the cowl grill 30 in the front-rear direction. The collapsing of the part can be promoted by these cooperation, and the pedestrian protection performance can be secured stably.
In addition, by causing the second deformation promoting portion (slit 42) to intersect the corner portion 37 where stress is concentrated at the time of collision, a load is efficiently applied to the second deformation promoting portion (slit 42), and the cowl grille. The opening deformation in the front-rear direction of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of 30 can be further promoted.
As described above, in the structure in which the side wall portion 36 and the corner portion 37 are formed at the end portion of the cowl grill 30 in the vehicle width direction, the amount of deformation of the end portion of the cowl grill 30 at the time of collision is increased, thereby improving pedestrian protection performance. Can be increased.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the upper surface portion 31 is provided with a ridge line portion 44 extending obliquely inward in the vehicle width direction from the corner portion 37 toward the front of the vehicle in a plan view of the vehicle. The promotion part (slit 42) is provided so as to pass through the intersection of the ridge line part 44 and the corner part 37 (see FIGS. 7 and 8).

According to this configuration, since the second deformation promoting portion (slit 42) is provided so as to pass through a portion (intersection of the ridge line portion 44 and the corner portion 37) where stress is most concentrated at the time of collision, the second deformation promoting portion. A load is efficiently applied to the (slit 42), and the opening deformation in the front-rear direction of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of the cowl grill 30 can be further promoted.
Furthermore, in one embodiment of the present invention, the front end portion (front side portion 41a) and the rear end portion (rear side portion 41b) of the first deformation promoting portion (notch portion 41) are The second deformation promoting portion (slit 42) (specifically, the portion located in the upper front portion 31A of the slit 42) extends inward in the vehicle width direction as the vehicle width increases inward in the vehicle width direction. It is provided to be inclined and extend forward (see FIG. 8).

According to this configuration, since the inclination direction of the first deformation promoting portion (notch portion 41) corresponds to the load input direction X (see FIG. 4), the first deformation promoting portion (cutting portion) The cutout portion 41) further promotes crushing of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of the cowl grill 30 in the vertical direction.
Further, since the inclination direction of the second deformation promoting portion (slit 42) corresponds to the inclination direction of the first deformation promoting portion (notch portion 41), the cowl grill 30 is formed by the second deformation promoting portion (slit 42). The opening deformation in the front-rear direction of the end in the vehicle width direction is further promoted.
Therefore, the amount of deformation of the end portion in the vehicle width direction of the cowl grill 30 at the time of a collision can be further increased, and the pedestrian protection performance can be further enhanced.

Further, as disclosed in the embodiment, when the first deformation promoting portion is formed by the notch portion 41 and the second deformation promoting portion is formed by the slit 42, each deformation promoting portion can be obtained with a simple configuration. When the second deformation promoting portion is the slit 42, it is possible to prevent foreign substances and water from entering as much as possible.
