Description
近年,C,S,N,Cr,V等の元素を酸化チタン結晶内へドープすることにより,可視光で作用する光触媒が調製できることがわかってきた(特許文献1、非特許文献1〜4)。なお、特許文献1は、無機系酸窒化物の製造方法および無機系酸窒化物に関するものである。また、Cuを担持したCu(II)担持TiO2やFeを担持したFe(III)担持TiO2でも可視光応答性が報告されている(非特許文献5、6)。更にまた、NbあるいはWとNをドープした可視光応答型光触媒も報告されている(特許文献2)。
本発明は、以下の構成を有する。
(4)25at%のNb原子又はNbイオンを固溶したTiO2結晶粉末を880℃超920℃未満の熱処理温度で保持することを特徴とする(3)に記載の可視光応答性光触媒の製造方法。
以下、添付図面を参照しながら、本発明の実施形態である可視光応答性光触媒とその製造方法について説明する。
まず、本発明の実施形態である可視光応答性光触媒について説明する。
図1は、本発明の実施形態である可視光応答性光触媒の一例を示す図である。
図1(a)は断面模式図である。
図1(a)に示すように、本発明の実施形態である可視光応答性光触媒は、TiO2結晶と、前記TiO2結晶内に固溶されたNb原子又はNbイオンと、前記TiO2結晶の表面又は内部に担持されたTiNb2O7と、を有する。
図1(b)に示す複合組織では、TiのサイトにTiと置換され配置されたNb原子又はNbイオンが示されている。また、TiNb2O7とは、TiO2結晶の表面に担持されている。なお、TiO2結晶の内部に担持されていてもよい。
Nb原子又はNbイオンの含有量が20at%以上のTiO2結晶を用いることにより、高温にしてもアナターゼ相を安定して保つことができ、より高温の温度範囲の熱処理で急激にルチル相にすることにより、TiO2結晶の表面又は内部にTiNb2O7を生成できる。
なお、Nb原子又はNbイオンの含有量が25at%超のTiO2結晶を生成することは、現在できていない。
TiO2結晶がアナターゼ相とルチル相のいずれか1相のみの場合にはTiNb2O7は安定してTiO2結晶の表面又は内部に担持されない。また、可視光応答性光触媒特性を高めることはできない。
TiO2結晶のルチル相/(ルチル相+アナターゼ相)が30wt%未満の場合には、前記複合組織を生成することができず、また、生成できても小さい割合なので、可視光応答性光触媒特性を生じさせることができない。
本発明の実施形態である可視光応答性光触媒の製造方法は、プラズマ合成粉末作製工程S1と、熱処理粉末作製工程S2と、を有する。
なお、プラズマ合成粉末作製工程S1で用いる液体原料の作製工程について、まず、説明する。
まず、チタン源試液及びニオブ源試液を作製する。
Tiアルコキシドとして、例えば、Ti(OBu)4を用いた場合、例えば、Ti(OBu)4とジエタノールアミン(DEA)をモル比「Ti(OBu)4:DEA:=1:4」で混合して、チタン源試液を作製する。チタン源試液中でアルコキシドのアルコキシル基をDEAと置換することにより、試液中のアルコキシドを安定化できる。
Tiアルコキシドとしては、チタンテトラブトキシドの他に、チタンテトラメトキシド、チタンテトラエトキシド、チタンテトラプロポキシド、チタンテトライソプロポキシド、チタンテトライソブトキシド、チタンテトラターシャリーブトキシド、チタンテトラセカンダリーブトキシドなどを用いても良い。
Nbアルコキシドとしては、ニオブペンタブトキシドの他に、ニオブペンタメトキシド、ニオブペンタエトキシド、ニオブペンタプロポキシド、ニオブペンタイソプロポキシド、ニオブペンタイソブトキシド、ニオブペンタターシャリーブトキシド、ニオブペンタセカンダリーブトキシドなどを用いても良い。
例えば、チタンの濃度を、Ti=1.5mol/Lになるように希釈調製する。
最終的に、チューブによる液体送給が容易となる濃度まで希釈する。
以上の工程により、液体原料を作製する。
プラズマ合成粉末作製工程S1は、Tiアルコキシド、Nbアルコキシド及びアミン化合物を有する液体原料をプラズマ内に供給して、20at%以上のNb原子又はイオンを固溶したTiO2結晶粉末(以下、プラズマ合成粉末とも表記する)を作製する工程である。
チャンバー11は、例えば、水冷SUS製反応容器である。
筒状プラズマトーチ部は、例えば、石英ガラス製水冷二重管である。
アトマイゼーションプローブ17は、例えば、model SA792−260−100(TENKA Plasma Systems Inc,Canada製)である。
まず、チャンバー11内を減圧状態にしてから、セントラルガス(Ar)とシースガス(Ar+O2)をプラズマ発生部の筒状プラズマトーチ部内に供給する。例えば、装置内圧力は26.7kPa(200Torr)、セントラルガス中のアルゴンガス流量は15L/min、シースガス中のアルゴンガス流量は60L/min、酸素流量を10L/minとする。
以上の工程により、液体原料をプラズマトーチに反応させて、プラズマ合成粉末を作製できる。
プラズマ合成粉末はフィルター14で回収する。
熱処理粉末作製工程S2は、フィルターで回収したプラズマ合成粉末を、例えば、管状炉内に配置して、700℃超1000℃未満に保持して熱処理する工程である。
これにより、TiO2結晶と、前記TiO2結晶内に固溶されたNb原子又はNbイオンと、前記TiO2結晶の表面又は内部に担持されたTiNb2O7と、を有し、前記TiO2結晶がアナターゼ相とルチル相の2相を含み、前記Nb原子又はNbイオンの総含有量が20at%以上である可視光応答性光触媒を製造できる。
特に、25at%のNb原子又はNbイオンを固溶したTiO2結晶粉末を880℃超920℃未満の熱処理温度で保持することにより、2時間の可視光照射によりメチルオレンジ濃度Cが初期濃度C0と比較して、C/C0が0.75以下となる光触媒活性の高い可視光応答性光触媒を製造することができる。
本発明の実施形態である可視光応答性光触媒の製造方法は、25at%のNb原子又はNbイオンを固溶したTiO2結晶粉末を880℃超920℃未満の熱処理温度で保持する構成なので、C/C0が0.75以下となる光触媒活性の高い可視光応答性光触媒を製造することができる。
まず、チタン源としてTi(OBu)4(和光純薬製)、ニオブ源としてNb(OBu)5(和光純薬製)、アルコキシドの加水分解抑制剤としてNH(OC2H5)2(ジエタノールアミン、和光純薬製、以下、DEAと略す)を用意した。
次に、Nb(OBu)5とDEAをモル比「Nb(OBu)5:DEA:=1:5」で混合して、ニオブ源試液を作製した。
次に、エタノールで希釈して、Ti1−xNbxO2(x=0.01)の液体原料を調製した。
同様に、Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0(undoped)、0.06、0.15、0.20、0.25の各液体原料も調整した。
次に、図2に示した高周波プラズマ装置を用いて、以下の工程で、熱プラズマ合成粉末の作製を行った。
まず、チャンバー内を減圧状態とした後、アルゴンを主とした混合ガスをチャンバー内に流した。
次に、2MHz、40kWの高周波電力を印加して、熱プラズマを発生させた。
次に、水冷したアトマイゼーションプローブから噴出させたTi1−xNbxO2(x=0.01)の液体原料をアトマイゼーションガスによりミスト状にして噴霧して、超高温の熱プラズマ流の中心に供給した。
以上の工程により、Ti1−xNbxO2(x=0.01)の熱プラズマ合成粉末が得られた。
実験条件を表1に示す。
Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0、0.01、0.06、0.15、0.20、0.25の熱プラズマ合成粉末におけるNb含有量をICP法により求めた。
表2は、仕込み組成と合成粉末のNb含有量の定量結果を示す。両者ほぼ同様の値であった。
図3は、Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0(undoped)、0.01、0.06、0.15、0.25の熱プラズマ合成粉末のXRDパターンの測定結果である。A(101)はアナターゼのピークであり、R(110)はルチルのピークであり、T(110)はTiNb2O7のピークである。
比較のため、P−25(市販の光触媒用酸化チタン粉、日本アエロジル製)のXRDパターン測定結果も示した。
次に、Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0.25の熱プラズマ合成粉末を、管状炉を用い、大気中、熱処理温度600℃で3h熱処理した。なお、昇温速度は5℃/min、降温速度は2℃/minとした。
熱処理により、Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0.25の600℃熱処理粉末を作製した。
なお、ST−21(市販の光触媒用酸化チタン粉末、石原産業製)を用い、熱処理を実施していない粉末とした。
なお、P−25とST−21は平均粒径の異なる酸化チタン粉末である。P−25の平均粒径は30nmである。一方、ST−21の平均粒径は20nmであり、Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0.25の600℃熱プラズマ合成粉末の平均粒径とほぼ同じである。
Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0.25のas−prepared、600℃、700℃、800℃、900℃、950℃、1000℃熱処理粉末のXRDパターンを測定した。
また、Ti1−xNbxO2のx=0(undoped)のas−prepared、600℃、700℃、800℃、900℃、950℃、1000℃熱処理粉末、ST−21のas−received、600℃、700℃、800℃、900℃、950℃、1000℃熱処理粉末のXRDパターンを測定した。
ここで、●は「A(101)、アナターゼ」のピークであり、■は「R(110)、ルチル」のピークであり、◆は「TiNb2O7」のピークである。
図5(c)に示すように、25at%Nbの酸化チタンには、700℃以上の熱処理によりTiNb2O7相が出現した。
まず、アナターゼのピークのX線回折強度(cps)からIAを決定し、ルチルのピークのX線回折強度(cps)からIRを決定した。なお、アナターゼおよびルチルのピークには、それぞれの最強ピークであるIA(101)とIR(110)を用いた。
次に、SpurとMyersの方法により式(1)のようにfR(ルチルの重量パーセント(%))を算出した。
ST−21、Undoped、25at%Nbのいずれの酸化チタンにおいても、600℃以上900℃以下の温度領域で、アナターゼ相がルチル相に変態した。
しかし、変態温度には違いがあった。具体的には、900℃熱処理により、ST−21、Undopedの酸化チタンではルチル割合が90%以上となったのに対し、25at%Nbの酸化チタンはアナターゼ相が高温まで安定化され、900℃熱処理を行っても、ルチル割合が60%でしかなかった。
図7は、ST−21 TiO2粉末及び熱処理粉末のSEM写真である。図7(a)は熱処理なしであり、熱処理温度が600℃(b)、700℃(c)、800℃(d)、900℃(e)、950℃(f)、1000℃(g)である。
図8は、Undoped TiO2の熱プラズマ合成粉末及び熱処理粉末のSEM写真である。図8(a)は熱処理なしであり、熱処理温度が600℃(b)、700℃(c)、800℃(d)、900℃(e)、950℃(f)、1000℃(g)である。
図9は、25.0at.% Nb−TiO2の熱プラズマ合成粉末及び熱処理粉末のSEM写真である。図9(a)は熱処理なしであり、熱処理温度が600℃(b)、700℃(c)、800℃(d)、900℃(e)、950℃(f)、1000℃(g)である。
図7のST−21 TiO2粉末、図8のUndoped TiO2の熱プラズマ合成粉末では、いずれも熱処理温度の上昇に伴い、粒子同士が結合して反応する。特に、900℃以上では熱処理前の粒子形状はわからないほどに粒成長していく様子が顕著に見られる。これに対し、図9の25.0at.% Nb−TiO2の熱プラズマ合成粉末では、熱処理による粒子間の反応は抑制されていることが認められる。
次に、P25、熱プラズマ合成粉末(undoped)及び熱処理粉末(25at%Nb)の光触媒特性の評価を行った。
光触媒特性は、UV−vis光及び可視光下におけるメチルオレンジの分解・脱色反応により評価した。
光源には三永電機製作所のUVF−203S TypeAまたはTypeC(200W水銀キセノンランプ)を使用し、UV−vis光照射時は、波長300,316,365,405,436nmの光を強度比40:82:100:39:30になるようにセットし、可視光照射時は、波長405,436nmの光を強度比81:100になるようセットした。いずれの場合も、光の全照射時間は2時間とし、全体的な光の強度は〜1mW/cm2に調節した。
各光触媒反応後の評価溶液の吸光度を分光光度計(日本分光製;V−560 UV/VIS Spectrophotometer)を用いて測定した。これにより、メチルオレンジの触媒反応後の濃度Cを算出した。C/C0の値が小さくなるほどメチルオレンジの分解・脱色が進んでいることを示し、光触媒特性が高いことを示す。
P−25は、熱処理を行わない時、最も光触媒特性が高く、C/C0=0.54であり、600℃熱処理行うとC/C0=0.60となり、800℃熱処理行うとC/C0=0.96とほとんど光触媒特性がなくなった。
図11(a)に示すように、熱処理温度を上げるに従い、紫外の光吸収領域が可視光側へわずかにシフトした。シフト量はST−21やundopedに比べ小さかった(図示略)。バンドギャップエネルギーの変化もわずかだった。
ST−21は、熱処理を行わない時、C/C0=0.96であり、600℃熱処理行うとC/C0=0.96となり、800℃熱処理行うとC/C0=0.97となり、1000℃熱処理行うとC/C0=0.99となり、ほとんど光触媒特性がなくなった。
ST−21は、光触媒特性の可視光応答性はなく、熱処理温度依存性もほとんどなかった。
Undopedは、光触媒特性の可視光応答性があり、熱処理温度を上げるに従い光触媒特性が低下する熱処理温度依存性があった。
このように、20at%Nbの酸化チタンは、800℃熱処理でC/C0=0.89と光触媒特性が高くなった。

このように、25at%Nbの酸化チタンは、900℃熱処理でC/C0=0.73と光触媒特性が高くなった。
25at%のNb原子又はNbイオンを固溶したTiO2結晶粉末を880℃超920℃未満の熱処理温度で保持すると、Undoped、1.0at%の熱処理無しのサンプルよりも高い可視光応答型光触媒特性を示した。
このとき、TiO2はルチル相/(ルチル相+アナターゼ相)が30wt%以上であり(図6参照)、XRDパターン(図3(c)参照)から、TiNb2O7の共存が認められた。
以上から、20at%Nb−TiO2及び25at%Nb−TiO2の粒子を熱処理すると、TiNb2O7を有し、ルチル相とアナターゼ相を有するTiO2からなる複合組織が生成され、この複合組織でTiNb2O7が、Cu(II)担持TiO2やFe(III)担持TiO2のCuやFeのように助触媒的な効果を奏し、可視光応答性の発現に寄与したものと類推している。
Claims (5)
- TiO2結晶と、
前記TiO2結晶内に固溶されたNb原子又はNbイオンと、
前記TiO2結晶の表面又は内部に担持されたTiNb2O7と、を有し、
前記TiO2結晶がアナターゼ相とルチル相の2相を含み、
前記TiO2結晶内に固溶されたNb原子又はNbイオンと、TiNb2O7中のNb原子の総含有量が20at%以上であり、
前記TiO 2 結晶のルチル相/(ルチル相+アナターゼ相)が30wt%以上60wt%以下であることを特徴とする可視光応答性光触媒。 - 前記TiO 2 結晶内に固溶されたNb原子又はNbイオンと、TiNb 2 O 7 中のNb原子の総含有量が25at%であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の可視光応答性光触媒。
- Tiアルコキシド、Nbアルコキシド及びアミン化合物を有する液体原料をプラズマ内に供給して、25at%のNb原子又はNbイオンを固溶したTiO2結晶粉末を作製する工程と、
前記TiO2結晶粉末を大気中、880℃超920℃未満の熱処理温度で保持する工程
と、を有することを特徴とする可視光応答性光触媒の製造方法。 - アルコールで希釈した液体原料を用いることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の可視光応答性光触媒の製造方法。
- 前記熱処理温度で保持する時間が3時間以上であることを特徴とする請求項3又は4のいずれか1項に記載の可視光応答性光触媒の製造方法。
