Description
A.ドープ粘着テープは、
第一側面と第二側面を有するバッキング層、
バッキング層の第一側面に塗布される粘着層、及び
バッキング層または粘着層に付加されたドーパントであって、後方散乱X線検査プロセスを使用してドープ粘着テープの検出を促進する成分を含むドーパント
を含む。
B.段落Aに記載されたドープ粘着テープであって、バッキング層はヨウ素ベースのドーパントを含む紙層を有する。
C.段落Aに記載されたドープ粘着テープであって、粘着層はヨウ素ベースのドーパントを含む。
D.段落Aに記載されたドープ粘着テープであって、バッキング層は20milより厚い紙層とする。
E.段落Bに記載されたドープ粘着テープであって、ヨウ素はヨウ化カリウムを含む。
F.段落Cに記載されたドープ粘着テープであって、ヨウ素はヨウ化カリウムを含む。
G.段落Aのドープ粘着テープであって、ドーパントは、粘着剤を塗布する前に、ヨウ素を含む液体をバッキング層に噴霧することによってバッキング層に付加される。
質量密度=密度×厚さ (1a)
質量密度=0.009lbs./in3×0.005in (1b)
質量密度=0.000045lbs./in2 (1c)
しかし、厚さが100milまで増加すると、質量密度は方程式(2a)と(2b)により算出される。
質量密度=0.009lbs./in3×0.1in (2a)
質量密度=0.0009lbs./in2 (2b)
テープの厚みが増すと、質量密度は20倍増加する(これは、方程式2bを方程式1cで除すことにより導き出される)。テープの検出能力は質量密度に対して直線的に変化するので、テープが厚くなれば、このようなテープは、後方散乱X線検査プロセスを使用して20倍以上検出可能になる。この例は、テープを厚くすることにより検出性が向上することを示しているが、先に述べた検討事項から、テープを極めて厚くすることは現実的ではない。

Claims (9)
- ドープ粘着テープを製造する方法であって、
粘着テープを製造するための紙スラリーを生産すること、
紙スラリーを使用して連続紙シートを形成すること、
連続紙シートに粘着サイジングを塗布すること、
後方散乱X線検査によるドープ粘着テープの検出を促進するドーパントを塗布し、塗布されたドーパントは紙スラリーまたは粘着サイジングに付加されること、及び
塗布される粘着剤とともに一巻の粘着テープを形成すること
を含む方法。 - 連続紙シートは20mil(0.508mm)より厚くする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ドーパントはヨウ素を含み、連続紙シートを形成する前に紙スラリーに付加される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- ドーパントはヨウ素を含み、粘着サイジングを連続紙シートに塗布する前に粘着サイジングに付加される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 連続紙シートはクレープ紙とする、請求項2に記載の方法。
- ドーパントはヨウ化カリウムを含む、請求項3または4に記載の方法。
- ドープ粘着テープを使用するための方法であって、
組み立てられている第一の構成要素に、後方散乱X線検査プロセスによる検出を促進するドーパントを含むドープ粘着テープを貼り付けること、
第一の構成要素を第二の構成要素と共に組み立てること、及び
組み立てられた第一の構成要素と第二の構成要素とを後方散乱X線検査プロセスにかけること
を含む方法。 - ドープ粘着テープが第一の構成要素の上に存在するかどうかを判定すること、及び
ドープ粘着テープが第一の構成要素の上に存在する場合、ドープ粘着テープを第一の構成要素から除去すること
をさらに含む、請求項7に記載の方法。 - ドープ粘着テープが第一の構成要素の上に存在するかどうかを判定することが、後方散乱X線検査装置を使用して第一の構成要素のX線画像を視覚的に分析することを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
