Description
前記発光素子が前記凹部の長手方向に沿って複数配列されており、前記導光板の光出射面の、前記複数の発光素子とそれぞれ対応する位置に減光パターンを設け、該減光パターンの形状又は大きさが、前記導光板の光出射面上の位置に応じて異ならせたことを特徴とする。特に、画面周辺部に近傍の減光パターンの大きさを、画面中央部の減光パターンよりも小さくする。
上記したように、本実施例においては、導光板の端部からの位置に応じて適正な減光パターンを配置することにより、照明ユニットからの光全面において、2次元的な輝度の段差を生じることなく、連続した輝度で光を出射することが可能となる。
Claims (8)
- 発光素子と、該発光素子からの光を面状光として出射する光出射面を有する、複数の領域を含む平板状の導光板とを備え、該導光板の光出射面と反対側の面に、互いに平行な複数の凹部が形成され、該複数の凹部のそれぞれに、前記発光素子の光軸が前記導光板の光出射面と平行となるように前記発光素子を複数個設けて構成された照明ユニットにおいて、
前記発光素子が前記凹部の長手方向に沿って複数配列されており、前記導光板の光出射面の、前記複数の発光素子とそれぞれ対応する位置に減光パターンを設け、該発光素子に対応する減光パターンの形状又は大きさが、前記導光板の光出射面上の位置に応じて異なり、
前記発光素子の光出射方向に沿って配列された一列の発光素子を発光素子列、前記凹部のそれぞれを含む前記導光板の各領域を段、前記発光素子の光出射方向を上、前記発光素子の光出射方向と反対方向を下、前記導光板の最も下に位置する前記段を最下段としたとき、
少なくとも1つの発光素子列において、前記最下段よりも上の段の発光素子に対応する減光パターンの大きさが、前記最下段の発光素子に対応する減光パターンよりも大きくされており、
前記減光パターンは、前記発光素子を前記導光板の光出射面側においてカバーする主部分と、前記発光素子を中心として、前記発光素子の光出射方向に向かって放射状に延びる第1の突起部分と、前記発光素子の光出射側と反対側の方向に向かって放射状に延びる第2の突起部分と、を含み、かつ前記第1の突起部分が前記第2の突起部分よりも長いことを特徴とする照明ユニット。 - 請求項1記載の照明ユニットにおいて、前記発光素子は、LEDであることを特徴とする照明ユニット。
- 請求項1記載の照明ユニットにおいて、減光パターン部は、印刷により形成されることを特徴とする照明ユニット。
- 請求項1記載の照明ユニットにおいて、画面周辺部近傍の前記減光パターンの大きさが、画面中央部の前記減光パターンよりも小さいことを特徴とする照明ユニット。
- 請求項1に記載の照明ユニットにおいて、前記第1の突起部分及び前記第2の突起部分は、前記発光素子から離れるに従い細くなる先細りの形状を有することを特徴とする照明ユニット。
- 請求項1記載の照明ユニットにおいて、前記減光パターンは、互いに形状または大きさの異なるパターンを重ね合わせて構成されていることを特徴とする照明ユニット。
- 請求項1記載の照明ユニットにおいて、前記減光パターンは、互いに透過率の異なる2種類以上の減光パターンを組み合わせて構成されていることを特徴とする照明ユニット。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の照明ユニットをバックライトとして用いたことを特徴とする表示装置。
