Description
The present invention relates to a fuel cell device that generates power by receiving supply of fuel gas and oxidant gas.
Such a fuel cell apparatus generally has a plurality of fuel cells, and supplies a fuel gas such as hydrogen gas to the anode electrode of each fuel cell and supplies an oxidant gas such as air to the cathode electrode. Thus, the power generation reaction can be caused.
Fuel cells have been proposed in various shapes, but in solid oxide fuel cells where the operating temperature is extremely high, the shape of the fuel cells is cylindrical in consideration of durability against thermal expansion. Often in shape. Such a fuel battery cell is a so-called “cylindrical type”, and has a configuration in which an electrolyte layer and an air electrode layer are sequentially laminated on the side surface of a cylindrical fuel electrode support. A power generation reaction can be caused by supplying a fuel gas such as hydrogen gas to a fuel gas flow path formed inside the fuel electrode support and supplying an oxidant gas such as air to the air electrode.
By the way, there is a restriction that, from a single cell constituted by a set of fuel electrode, electrolyte layer, and air electrode layer, it is theoretically possible to generate only a maximum generated voltage of about 1V. For this reason, it is conceivable to increase the current value as one of the methods for increasing the output power from the fuel cell device. However, in addition to the upper limit of the current value that can be taken out from one cell, the fuel cell has a problem that the larger the current taken out, the faster the deterioration rate and the earlier the deterioration. For this reason, it is not realistic to increase the output power by increasing the current value.
Therefore, in order to increase the output power of the fuel cell device, the generated voltage is increased by electrically connecting a plurality of fuel cells in series. In this case, even if the current to be extracted is small, it is possible to output a large amount of power because the generated voltage is high. However, in order to set the power generation voltage to, for example, 160 V by the cylindrical fuel cell as described above, it is necessary to arrange about 160 fuel cells in parallel and connect them all in series. As a result, since a large space for arranging a large number of fuel cells is required, there is a problem that the fuel cell device becomes enormous.
The following
Even when the fuel cells are connected and connected to each other, if one fuel cell is formed extremely long, the size of the fuel cell device will eventually increase. For this reason, it is necessary to arrange a plurality of fuel cells of an appropriate length and to electrically connect them in series. Further, in order to avoid an increase in the size of the fuel cell device, it is necessary to arrange the plurality of fuel cells in two dimensions on the same plane (not in a single row) with the respective central axes being parallel. There is.
As described above, the fuel cell device having the configuration in which the connected cylindrical fuel cells are arranged two-dimensionally in parallel on the same plane and electrically connected in series is reduced from the fuel cell while miniaturizing the device. The current to be extracted can be reduced. However, as will be described below, the temperature difference between the fuel cells increases the burden on some of the fuel cells and may cause a problem that the fuel cells are damaged.
That is, among the fuel cells arranged two-dimensionally, the fuel cell arranged at the center is in a state surrounded by other fuel cells, and thus tends to become high temperature during power generation. There is. On the other hand, the fuel cells arranged on the outermost periphery tend to be at a low temperature because they are close to the side wall having a low temperature. As described above, when a plurality of fuel cells are arranged two-dimensionally, a temperature difference between the fuel cells increases.
It is known that the magnitude of the current that can be taken out from the fuel cell becomes smaller as the temperature of the fuel cell is lower. If an attempt is made to extract a large current even when the fuel cell is in a low temperature state, the current is extracted exceeding the power generation performance, so that the fuel cell is damaged due to so-called fuel depletion.
As described above, when all the fuel cells are electrically connected in series, the magnitudes of the currents extracted from the respective fuel cells are all the same. For this reason, when the fuel cell arranged on the outermost periphery becomes a low temperature, the current of the same magnitude as that of other fuel cells is taken out even though the power generation performance of the fuel cell is lowered. . As a result, the fuel battery cell may be damaged as described above. If even one fuel cell is damaged, the fuel cell device cannot continue power generation thereafter.
As described above, in the conventional fuel cell device, when the fuel cell is arranged so that the fuel cell device does not increase in size, a part of the fuel cell is damaged, and the power generation performance of the fuel cell device is improved for a long time. There was a problem that it could not be maintained for a long time.
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a long-term power generation performance without increasing the size of the fuel cell device including a plurality of connected cylindrical fuel cells. It is an object of the present invention to provide a fuel cell device that can be maintained over the course of the road.
In order to solve the above problems, a fuel cell device according to the present invention is a fuel cell device that generates power by receiving supply of a fuel gas and an oxidant gas. A connected cylindrical fuel cell arranged in a straight line and electrically connected in series with each other and a plurality of the fuel cells arranged side by side on a horizontal plane with their respective central axes along the vertical direction. A fuel cell assembly, a side wall disposed so as to surround a side of the fuel cell assembly, and a substantially central portion of the fuel cell assembly, facing an outer surface at a lower portion of the fuel cell. An oxidant gas supply channel for injecting the oxidant gas, and the fuel cell assembly has a plurality of parallel units formed by electrically connecting a set of the fuel cells to each other in parallel. And all before The parallel units are arranged so as to surround the oxidant gas supply flow path, and are electrically connected in series to each other. In each of the parallel units, the fuel cell unit includes the oxidant gas supply flow. It arrange | positions so that it may be located in a line along the direction which goes to the said side wall from a road.
The present invention includes a fuel cell assembly in which a plurality of connected cylindrical fuel cells are juxtaposed on a horizontal plane with their respective central axes along the vertical direction. Further, an oxidant gas supply flow path is provided in the approximate center of the fuel cell assembly. The oxidant gas supply flow path supplies oxidant gas to each fuel cell by injecting oxidant gas toward the outer surface of the lower part of the fuel cell.
Side walls are arranged around the fuel cell assembly so as to surround the sides thereof. For this reason, the oxidant gas injected from the oxidant gas supply flow path flows from the center of the fuel cell assembly toward the outer peripheral side and reaches the side wall.
The fuel cell assembly has a plurality of parallel units formed by electrically connecting a set of fuel cells to each other in parallel. That is, the plurality of fuel cells constituting the fuel cell assembly is divided into a plurality of groups (parallel units), and in each group, the fuel cells are electrically connected to each other in parallel.
The plurality of parallel units are arranged so as to surround the oxidant gas supply flow path, and are electrically connected in series with each other. As a result of the plurality of parallel units being electrically connected in series, the power generation voltage of the fuel cell assembly is (power generation voltage per small cell) × (number of small cells included in one fuel cell) X (number of parallel units). By connecting in series the connected cylindrical fuel cells having a high generated voltage per one, the generated voltage of the fuel cell assembly can be increased. As a result, the current to be extracted is reduced, so that deterioration of the fuel cell can be suppressed.
In the present invention, not all fuel cells are electrically connected in series with each other, but as described above, a set of fuel cells constituting the same parallel unit are electrically connected in parallel. It has become. For this reason, even when a part of the fuel cells constituting the parallel unit becomes low temperature and the power generation performance is lowered, the power generation performance is supplemented by the other fuel cells connected in parallel to each other. As a result, the burden on the fuel battery cell having a low temperature is reduced.
In each parallel unit, the fuel cells are arranged so as to be aligned along the direction from the oxidant gas supply channel toward the side wall. In this way, by arranging the fuel cells so that the temperature distribution is likely to increase, each parallel unit has a fuel cell having a large burden during power generation and a fuel cell having a small burden. Will be included in a balanced manner. As a result, since the burden at the time of power generation is distributed in all the fuel cells constituting the fuel cell assembly, the power generation performance of the fuel cell device can be maintained for a long time.
Further, in the fuel cell device according to the present invention, the oxidant gas supply channel is a cylindrical tube arranged so that the central axis is along the vertical direction, and a plurality of oxidant gases formed on the side surfaces thereof. It is also preferable to inject the oxidant gas from the supply hole.
In this preferred embodiment, the oxidant gas supply channel is a cylindrical tube arranged so that the central axis is along the vertical direction. A plurality of oxidant gas supply holes are formed on the side surface, and the oxidant gas is injected from the oxidant gas supply holes toward the fuel cells.
Since the oxidant gas supply channel is a cylindrical tube, the oxidant gas injected from the oxidant gas supply hole is ejected radially from the oxidant gas supply channel toward the periphery. Accordingly, the oxidant gas is uniformly supplied toward the parallel units arranged so as to surround the oxidant gas supply flow path. As a result, the environment for generating power by the fuel cell, such as the amount of oxidant gas reached and the temperature distribution, approaches the same environment in all parallel units. In some parallel units, it is possible to suppress a heavy burden on the fuel cell, and thus the power generation performance of the fuel cell device can be maintained for a longer period of time.
In the fuel cell device according to the present invention, it is also preferable that the plurality of parallel units are arranged such that the distances to the oxidant gas supply channel are all the same.
In this preferred embodiment, the plurality of parallel units are arranged such that the distances to the oxidant gas supply channel are all the same. As a result, the flow rate of the oxidant gas that reaches each parallel unit can be made substantially uniform, so that the environment in each parallel unit becomes closer to the same. As a result, it is possible to further suppress a large burden on the fuel cells in some parallel units.
In the fuel cell device according to the present invention, it is also preferable that the number of the fuel cells electrically connected in parallel to each other in each of the parallel units is the same in all the parallel units.
In this preferred embodiment, the number of fuel cells electrically connected in parallel to each other in each parallel unit is the same in all parallel units. In each parallel unit, since the oxidant gas is distributed to the same number of fuel cells, the environment in each parallel unit becomes closer to the same. As a result, it is possible to further suppress a large burden on the fuel cells in some parallel units.
In the fuel cell device according to the present invention, it is also preferable that the plurality of parallel units are arranged so as to be rotationally symmetric with respect to a central axis of the oxidant gas supply channel.

Since the arrangement of each fuel cell with respect to the oxidant gas supply channel is the same in all the parallel units, the environment in each parallel unit will be closer to the same. As a result, it is possible to further suppress a large burden on the fuel cells in some parallel units.

Since the oxidant gas is evenly supplied to each parallel unit, the environment in each parallel unit becomes closer to the same. As a result, it is possible to further suppress a large burden on the fuel cells in some parallel units.
In the fuel cell device according to the present invention, it is preferable that all the distances from the oxidant gas supply hole to the corresponding parallel units are the same.
In this preferred embodiment, the distances from the oxidant gas supply holes to the corresponding parallel units are all the same. In addition to the oxidant gas supply holes being formed corresponding to the respective parallel units, the distances from the oxidant gas supply holes to the corresponding parallel units are all the same. Since the flow rate of the oxidant gas reaching each parallel unit can be made substantially the same, the environment in each parallel unit becomes closer to the same. As a result, it is possible to further suppress a large burden on the fuel cells in some parallel units.
In the fuel cell device according to the present invention, it is preferable that the side wall has a cylindrical shape and is arranged so that a central axis thereof coincides with a central axis of the oxidant gas supply channel.
In this preferred embodiment, the side wall has a cylindrical shape and is arranged such that its central axis coincides with the central axis of the oxidant gas supply channel. That is, the oxidant gas supply channel and the side wall are arranged concentrically in a top view.
With such a configuration, the flow of the oxidant gas after reaching the side wall after being injected from the oxidant gas supply flow path is also the same in the vicinity of all the parallel units. As a result, the environment in each parallel unit becomes closer to the same, and it is possible to further suppress the heavy burden on the fuel cells in some of the parallel units.
According to the present invention, in a fuel cell device including a plurality of connected cylindrical fuel cells, a fuel cell device capable of maintaining power generation performance over a long period of time without increasing the size of the device is provided. it can.

A

Further, a
The
The raw material gas supplied through the raw material
A
The reforming

C m H n + xH 2 O → aCO 2 + bCO + cH 2 (1)

The fuel gas flows into the manifold 700 from the lower end of the
Next, the path through which the oxidant gas flows will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 5 is a diagram schematically showing the internal structure of the
The
An oxidant
The oxidant gas supplied from the oxidant

With such a configuration, the oxidant gas that has flowed from the outer periphery of the
As will be described later, an air electrode layer is formed on the outer surface of the
Next, a path through which the exhaust gas flows will be described with reference to FIG. Exhaust gas is the remaining gas that has not been used for power generation among fuel gas and oxidant gas. In the present embodiment, the remaining fuel gas and oxidant gas are mixed and burned in the upper part of the
FIG. 6 is a diagram schematically showing the internal structure of the
The
Thereafter, the exhaust gas flows through the
Next, the detailed structure of the
First, the structure of the
A horizontal
A
A
An oxidant
As will be described later, the
Next, the structure of the
The upper end of the
A
A source
A
This will be described with reference to FIG. 4 again. As shown in FIG. 4, the
A
The
In order to make the flow of the exhaust gas in the
Further, in order to make the flow of the exhaust gas in the
With such a configuration, when the
In the
Furthermore, the
The
In the
The
In the
Further, the
Since the reforming reaction is an endothermic reaction that occurs at a high temperature, it is necessary to supply a large amount of heat to the reforming
Next, the

Examples of the material constituting the
As shown in FIG. 10, the

The
A method for connecting the
As clearly shown in FIG. 13, the current collecting
The
At the center of the
Thus, by arranging the current collecting

Thus, in the
The electrical connection between the
At the time of manufacturing the
Since the current collecting
The
In the
For this reason, the fuel gas flowing through the
Next, a method for manufacturing the
First, one of the sintered
Then, the
Since the
Furthermore, when the
After the
Even when the
The
In the present embodiment, the
Subsequently, two shafts formed in a rod shape with an insulating material are prepared (shaft preparation step). These shafts are arranged in a state of penetrating the fuel supply holes 305 and the through
Subsequently, the shaft is inserted into each of the two fuel supply holes 305 in the
Then, the
At this time, the current collecting
Subsequently, the
After the

Subsequently, the
At this time, the
As a result, in the subsequent steps, the fuel supply holes 305 of the
That is, these shafts function as misalignment prevention means for maintaining the state where the fuel supply holes 305 formed in each of the two
In this embodiment, the example in which the shaft is inserted into the

Then, it is set as the state which added the load which goes to the perpendicular downward direction with respect to the
When the glass rings 320a and 320b are melted in the subsequent heating step, the load is compressed and deformed so that the
Subsequently, the whole is heated by an electric furnace or the like to melt the glass rings 320a and 320b (heating step). As a result of the glass rings 320a and 320b being melted and becoming liquid, both the current collecting
In a state before the glass rings 320a and 320b are melted, the central
When the glass rings 320a and 320b are melted by the heating process, both of them become liquids and lose their supporting force. At this time, the melted glass rings 320a and 320b are deformed in the compressing direction by the vertical load applied in the loading process. As a result, the
Thus, all the small cells are simultaneously connected in series by one heating, and one
As described above, in a state before the glass rings 320a and 320b are melted, the glass rings 320a and 320b support the weight of the
When the glass rings 320a and 320b are melted by the heating process and lose their supporting force, the current collecting
However, in the
Further, the central
The central
In addition, as a shape of the center

The

As shown in FIG. 15, the manifold 700 has a horizontal

The lower end of the bending
As shown in FIG. 16, both the
As described above, by arranging the
Further, the space inside the manifold 700 has a donut shape, and the fuel gas does not flow into the inner wall 704 (the portion corresponding to the “hole” of the donut). That is, when the fuel gas swirls and flows, a central portion (a portion corresponding to a donut-shaped “hole”) at which the flow velocity is most likely to decrease is excluded from the manifold. As a result, the flow rate difference of the fuel gas generated in the manifold 700 (the flow rate difference between the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion) is reduced. As a result, even when the flow rate of the fuel gas introduced from the
By making the space inside the manifold 700 a donut shape, the flow rate difference of the fuel gas between the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion is reduced as described above. However, such a flow rate difference cannot be completely eliminated. Since the flow velocity is large in the vicinity of the
Therefore, in the
FIG. 17 shows the arrangement of the through
In other words, in the region where one row of the through
As described above, the pressure of the fuel gas in the vicinity of the
As already described, after the fuel gas flows from the lower side to the upper side of the
For this reason, the ascending force of the airflow at a position close to the
Subsequently, the specific arrangement of the
The
Next, the flow of the oxidant gas supplied to the
FIG. 19 is a diagram schematically showing the arrangement of the oxidant
All the
For this reason, the oxidant gas injected in the horizontal direction from the
The temperature of the oxidant gas is increased by the heat of the exhaust gas flowing through the
In addition, all the
As already described, the
As described above, in the
In addition, the
Therefore, the flow of the oxidant gas after hitting the anode cap 350 (or the cathode cap 370) is almost the same as the flow when hitting the power generation site (air electrode layer) of the cylindrical fuel cell as in the prior art. There is no change.
Therefore, even when the oxidant gas is directly applied to the anode cap 350 (or the cathode cap 370) as in the
In the
The oxidant gas flows from the upper side to the lower side in the oxidant
Next, the flow of the oxidant gas when the
As shown in FIG. 20, one of the
Here, the number of
FIG. 20 shows a DD section in FIG. 19 and shows the flow of the oxidant gas along the section. The
In FIG. 20, the flow (main flow) of the oxidant gas is indicated by an arrow MFL. The oxidant gas injected from the
Specifically, at the arrival point of the oxidant gas with respect to the outer surface of the first fuel cell C1, the oxidant gas is incident obliquely from the direction inclined to the left with respect to the normal line at the arrival point. One fuel cell C1 is hit. For this reason, after the oxidant gas hits the first fuel cell C1, the flow direction is changed to the right, and the gas flows toward the second fuel cell C2.
Thereafter, the oxidant gas is incident on the second fuel cell at an arrival point of the oxidant gas with respect to the outer surface of the second fuel cell C2 so as to be obliquely incident from a direction inclined to the left with respect to the normal line at the arrival point. It hits cell C2. For this reason, after the oxidant gas hits the second fuel cell C2, the flow direction is further changed to the right side, and the gas flows toward the third fuel cell C3.
After that, at the arrival point of the oxidant gas with respect to the outer surface of the third fuel cell C3, it strikes the third fuel cell C3 so as to enter obliquely from the direction inclined to the left with respect to the normal line at the arrival point. For this reason, after the oxidant gas hits the third fuel cell C3, the flow direction is further changed to the right side, and the gas flows toward the side wall (fourth cylinder 171) of the
Radiation row HL (fuel cell unit) is a row that is arranged along an axis (long axis) that obliquely intersects the diameter direction of
The flow of the oxidant gas as described above is the same for all the radiation rows HL forming the
With the configuration as described above, the oxidant gas that reaches the
FIG. 21 is a diagram showing an arrangement of three
By arranging the
As described above, in the
Next, a configuration for preventing the supply amount of the oxidant gas from being insufficient in a part of the
As a countermeasure against the above phenomenon, it is conceivable to suppress the oxidant gas from rising immediately after hitting the lower part of the
As an example of a specific method for suppressing the oxidant gas from rising immediately after hitting the lower part of the
The fuel cell 300a is different from the
As illustrated in FIG. 22, the current collecting
In the
As shown in FIG. 20, most of the oxidant gas injected toward the space between the adjacent fuel cells 300 (inter-cell gap) in the innermost circular row is mostly the side wall (fourth). It becomes a flow (mainstream) toward the cylinder 171) and flows as shown by an arrow MFL.
On the other hand, a part of the oxidant gas hitting the innermost
As indicated by the arrow SFL, the flow (circular flow) that circulates along the outer surface of the
If the
For this reason, in the
Thus, in the
Next, the electrical connection of each

As described above, the fuel cell C110, the fuel cell C120, and the fuel cell C130 are electrically connected at the upper part by the
In FIG. 23, the fuel battery cell C210, the fuel battery cell C220, and the fuel battery cell C230 that form the far-side radiation row HL are all disposed upside down from the fuel battery cell C120 and the like. That is, they are arranged with the
The anode caps 350 of the fuel cell C210, the fuel cell C220, and the fuel cell C230 are all disposed below, but these three
As described above, the fuel cell C210, the fuel cell C220, and the fuel cell C230 are electrically connected to each other by the
One of the three
Although not shown in FIG. 23, the three fuel cells C310, C320, and C330 that form the adjacent radiation row HL on the front side of the parallel unit PU1 are arranged with the
One of the three
The same applies to the
As shown in FIG. 24, the parallel unit PU1 and the parallel unit PU2 are arranged along an arc surrounding the periphery of the oxidant
Moreover, the parallel units PU1 and parallel units PU2 adjacent to each other are connected to each other by the inter-unit connection member so that all the parallel units PU1 and parallel units PU2 arranged as described above are electrically connected in series. It is connected. A current
As a result of the
Since the connected
Further, not all the
In each of the parallel units PU1 and PU2, the
The
First, the oxidant
Second, each parallel unit PU1, PU2 is formed by the same number of
Third, the number of
With such a configuration, the distance until the oxidant gas injected from the
Next, the positional relationship between the reforming
In particular, since the
Furthermore, in the
Therefore, in the
For this reason, only the portion of the
In addition, the upper end position of the reforming
Further, an
Further, the upper end position of the reforming
With such a configuration, the heat of combustion is taken away by the reforming
