一方、従来の締結工程では、上述したように材料の流れが制限されている段階からかしめが開始されるため、図3(C)に示すように、ワークのかしめ部W2kの肉厚が薄くなっている。そのため、図3(D)に示すように、ワークの壁部W2aに亀裂が生じるとともに、ワークの先端部W2cや押し込み部W2bを環状凹部14内に十分に充填できず、高い締結強度が得られない。
