Description
The present invention relates to a configuration of a fuel cell system, and more particularly to a drive system for a shutoff valve.
A fuel cell generates electricity by an electrochemical reaction between a fuel and an oxidant, and includes a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) in which a fuel electrode and an oxidant electrode are disposed on opposite sides of an electrolyte made of an ion exchange membrane, and a fuel. A fuel separator having a fuel supply channel for supplying fuel to the electrode; and an oxidant separator having an oxidant supply channel for supplying an oxidant to the oxidant electrode. Various gases are used for fuel and oxidizer. For example, hydrogen is used for fuel, and air containing oxygen is used for oxidizer. Power is generated by electrochemical reaction and water is generated at the oxidizer electrode. Many types are used.
In such a fuel cell, when the operation is stopped, air as an oxidant gas remains in the oxidant supply channel on the oxidant electrode side, and in the fuel supply channel on the fuel electrode side. The fuel gas, hydrogen, remains. On the other hand, in the stopped fuel cell, hydrogen as the fuel gas moves to the oxidant electrode through the ion exchange membrane, and conversely, oxygen in the air as the oxidant gas passes through the ion exchange membrane to the fuel electrode. A moving cross leak occurs. When this cross leak occurs, hydrogen and oxygen are combined by a chemical reaction different from the power generation reaction to produce water.
The reaction between hydrogen and oxygen due to cross leak stops when oxygen in the air is consumed. However, if new air flows into the oxidant supply channel while the fuel cell is stopped, the above cross Reaction due to leaks will continue to occur. Then, a problem that the catalyst contained in the fuel electrode and the oxidant electrode deteriorates due to an increase in the potential of the oxidant electrode and the fuel electrode in the fuel cell, resulting in a decrease in the catalyst performance and a decrease in the performance of the fuel cell. (For example, see Patent Document 1).
As a method for preventing such a performance degradation of the fuel cell, Patent Document 1 discloses a normally closed state that is closed when the driving power supply is cut off in the oxidant gas inlet and outlet pipes of the fuel cell. A method for easily sealing the oxidizer electrode even when the fuel cell is stopped is described. Patent Document 2 describes a system for driving a shut-off valve of a fuel cell with air pressure.
On the other hand, as a shut-off valve of a fuel cell, the movable part of the valve moves in the direction from the downstream side to the upstream side with respect to the flow of the oxidant gas (hereinafter referred to as upstream valve opening type). Things may be used. In the valve having such a structure, when the oxidant gas flows into the gas passage in the valve, the gas pressure moves the movable part of the valve in the valve closing direction (from the upstream side to the downstream side with respect to the flow of the oxidant gas). The pressure is applied (see, for example, Patent Document 3).
The shutoff valves provided at the oxidant inlet and outlet of the fuel cell are valves that need to be kept open at all times during the operation of the fuel cell. For this reason, in order to ensure that the open state is maintained during operation, the valve is not used when the power source for opening / closing the valve or the drive source such as the air source is stopped instead of the normally closed valve as described in Patent Document 1. A normally open valve that keeps open may be used. In such a normally open valve, it is necessary to supply a driving source such as a power source or an air source in order to keep the shut-off valve closed while the fuel cell is stopped. There is a possibility that air will leak due to the shut-off valve being opened or the closing force being weakened.
In addition, when the shut-off valve is driven by air pressure as in the prior art described in Patent Document 2, the pressurized air pressure in the pressurizing chamber decreases due to air leakage or the like, and the shut-off valve is opened. Or the closing force may be weakened and air may leak.
On the other hand, since the oxidant gas of the fuel cell contains moisture, when the fuel cell is stopped in a low temperature environment, the oxidant gas shut-off valve may be fixed or frozen in the closed state. In the case of the upstream valve opening type valve as in the prior art described in Patent Document 3, the shutoff valve is large because the pressure of the oxidant gas supplied for starting acts in the valve closing direction to prevent the valve opening. A driving force may be required.
An object of the present invention is to improve the sealing performance of a shut-off valve while the fuel cell is stopped.
The fuel cell system of the present invention includes a fuel cell that generates electricity by an electrochemical reaction between a fuel gas and an oxidant gas, a shutoff valve provided between an oxidant gas flow path in the fuel cell and the atmosphere, and the shutoff. a fuel cell system including a valve drive mechanism for opening and closing the valve, the said shut-off valve includes a valve seat and a valve body for sealing of the oxidant gas in contact with the valve seat, the The valve opening / closing drive mechanism includes a valve opening operation side pressure chamber to which the oxidant gas is supplied and a valve closing operation side pressure chamber to which the oxidant gas is supplied. and opening and closing the valve, the valve body is closed the shut-off valve by raising the pressure of the valve-closing pressure chamber of the oxidant gas flow path in the fuel cell after stopping the fuel cell It is sucked in the direction of the valve seat by the negative pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure, thereafter, before The pressure of the valve-closing pressure chamber is maintained in a closed state only by negative pressure when lowered, characterized by. Moreover, Te fuel cell system odor of the present invention, the pre-Symbol the shut-off valve in all flow paths between the oxidant gas flow passage and the atmosphere in the fuel cell is provided, is also suitable as .
Further, in the fuel cell system of the present invention, the negative pressure of the oxidant gas flow path in the fuel cell, which is provided between the oxidant gas flow path in the fuel cell and the shutoff valve, is set to atmospheric pressure. It is also preferable to have an air release valve that opens, and it is also preferable to open the shutoff valve after opening the air release valve when starting the fuel cell. .
The present invention has an effect of improving the sealing performance of the shut-off valve while the fuel cell is stopped.

The
Hereinafter, the detailed structure of the air
As shown in FIG. 2, the

A driving
A bellows
During the operation of the
Since the air inlet shut-off valve driving air switching valve 41 is switched to the valve opening side, the
Further, the valve-opening
When the
Since the air inlet shut-off valve driving air switching valve 41 is switched to the valve closing side, the
When the shut-off
Then, the
When both the air inlet shut-off
As shown in FIG. 3, when the pressure of the air flow path inside the
In the present embodiment, even if the valve is normally open, the
In the present embodiment described above, the air flow path of the
Next, in the
The
Even when the
