Description
本願は、2011年6月3日に出願され、「Methods and Apparatus for Multi−Phase Multi−Source Backup and Restore」と題された、Gordon J.Freedman他の、米国仮特許出願第61/493,360号の利益を請求するものであり、それを全体として参照により本願に援用する。
本発明は、一般に、デバイスのバックアップに関する。より詳細には、本発明は、デバイスのためにファイルを複数の段階で複数のソースを用いてバックアップすることに関する。
Claims (20)
- ポータブル電子デバイスであって、
情報を格納するように構成されたメモリと、
前記メモリに格納された前記情報をバックアップするバックアッププロセスの間に、内蔵バッテリの再充電状態を監視するように構成された電源検出器であって、前記監視は、前記内蔵バッテリの再充電がいつ停止したか、及び、前記内蔵バッテリの再充電がいつ再開したかを検出することを含む、電源検出器と、
前記バックアッププロセスの間に、前記情報をリモートデバイスへ送信するように構成されたネットワーク無線部と、
前記バックアッププロセスが終了させられる時の前記バックアッププロセスの終了状態を追跡し、前記内蔵バッテリの前記再充電が停止すると、前記バックアッププロセスを、自動的に、ユーザ要求なしに、終了させ、前記内蔵バッテリの前記再充電が再開すると、前記バックアッププロセスを前記終了状態から自動的に再開させるように構成されたプロセッサと、
を備えることを特徴とするポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記内蔵バッテリは、外部電源ポートに対する接続を介して、外部電源から再充電される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記外部電源が切断されると、前記内蔵バッテリの再充電が停止する
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記内蔵バッテリは、誘導パッドを介して、外部電源から再充電される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記ポータブル電子デバイスが前記誘導パッドから予め定められた距離だけ離れると、前記内蔵バッテリの再充電が停止する
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記内蔵バッテリは、ソーラーパネルを介して再充電される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記ポータブル電子デバイスが別の場所へ移って前記ソーラーパネルによりソーラーソースにアクセスできなくなると、前記内蔵バッテリは再充電を停止する
ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記バックアッププロセスは、複数のバックアップ操作を実行することを含み、
前記バックアッププロセスが終了させられた時、前記バックアッププロセスは進行中であり、前記複数のバックアップ操作のうちの少なくとも1つがこれから実行すべく残っている
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記バックアッププロセスは、前記複数のバックアップ操作のうちの前記少なくとも1つを実行することなく終了させられる
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記バックアッププロセスを再開させることは、前記複数のバックアップ操作のうちの前記少なくとも1つを実行することを含む
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記バックアッププロセスは、前記複数のバックアップ操作のうちの1つについて進行中であり、
前記1つのバックアップ操作はアトミックであり、
前記バックアッププロセスは、前記1つのバックアップ操作の全てが完了した後に終了させられる
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記バックアッププロセスは、前記複数のバックアップ操作のうちの1つについて進行中であり、
前記バックアッププロセスは、前記1つのバックアップ操作が完了する前に終了させられる
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - 前記終了状態は、前記バックアッププロセスが終了させられた時にどのバックアップ操作が完了していたかを示す
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載のポータブル電子デバイス。 - コンピュータによって実行される方法であって、
デバイスからリモート位置へ情報をバックアップするステップと、
前記情報がバックアップされている間に、内蔵バッテリの再充電状態を監視するステップと、
前記バックアップが終了させられる時の前記バックアップの終了状態を追跡するステップと、
前記内蔵バッテリが再充電を停止したことを検出するステップと、
前記内蔵バッテリが再充電を停止したことの前記検出に応えて、前記情報の前記バックアップを、自動的に、ユーザ要求なしに、終了させるステップと、
前記情報の前記バックアップが終了させられた後に、前記内蔵バッテリが再充電を再開したことを検出するステップと、
前記内蔵バッテリが再充電を再開したことの前記検出に応えて、前記情報の前記バックアップを前記終了状態から自動的に再開させるステップと、
を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記内蔵バッテリの前記再充電状態を監視する前記ステップは、外部電源が前記デバイスに接続されているか否かを検出するステップを含む
ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載の方法。 - 情報をバックアップする前記ステップは、複数のバックアップ操作を実行することによって前記デバイスから前記リモート位置へ前記情報を送信するステップを含む
ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載の方法。 - 前記情報の前記バックアップが終了させられた時に、前記複数のバックアップ操作のうちの少なくとも1つは実行されていない
ことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。 - 前記複数のバックアップ操作は、前記デバイスのカレントファイルのためのカレントバックアップ操作を含み、
前記情報の前記バックアップは、前記内蔵バッテリが再充電を停止した時に、前記カレントバックアップ操作の全てを実行することを含み、
前記カレントバックアップ操作はアトミックである
ことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。 - 前記情報の前記バックアップは、前記カレントバックアップ操作の全てが完了した後に終了させられる
ことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の方法。 - 前記終了状態は、前記情報の前記バックアップが終了させられた時にどのバックアップ操作が完了していたかを示す
ことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。
