Description

Claims (12)
- 複数のタイプの信号を受信して出力するための装置であって、
第一の信号を受信する第一の入力と、
第二の信号を受信する、オーバーザエア伝送を含む第二の入力と、
前記第一の入力へと動作可能なように接続され、前記第一の信号を処理するように動作可能であり、それによって処理された信号を生成する、処理回路と、
前記第二の入力および前記処理回路へと動作可能なように接続された変調器であって、前記第二の信号と前記処理された信号のうちの少なくとも一方を出力するように動作可能な変調器と、
前記処理回路へと接続された赤外線送信機であって、前記変調器が前記第二の信号を出力するとき、自動的にチャンネル変更コマンドをディスプレイデバイスに送信するように構成された、赤外線送信機と、
を含む、ことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記変調器は、前記第二の信号および前記処理された信号の両方を出力するように動作可能である、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記変調器は、ピクチャインピクチャディスプレイを要求する信号に応じて、前記第二の信号および前記処理された信号の両方を出力する、ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記第一の信号は衛星テレビ伝送である、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記第一の信号はケーブルテレビ伝送である、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 複数入力テレビ受像機からの出力を提供する方法であって、
複数のチャンネル用の電子プログラミングガイドデータを受信するステップと、
前記電子プログラミングガイドデータにおける前記複数のチャンネルの何れが第一の入力信号に対応するか、ならびに、何れが第二の入力信号に対応するかを示すチャンネル分配を決定するステップであって、前記決定するステップは、
前記第二の入力信号に関連付けられた、アンテナ上の複数のローカル放送チャンネルをスキャンするステップと、
任意のローカル放送チャンネルを前記第二の入力信号へと割り当てるステップと、
前記スキャンする動作において発見されなかった、前記電子プログラミングガイドデータにおける任意の複数のチャンネルを、前記第一の入力信号へと割り当てるステップと、
を含む、前記決定するステップと、
第一のデバイスにおいて、第一のチャンネルから第二のチャンネルへと変更するためのコマンドを受信するステップと、
前記チャンネル分配の参照によって、前記第二のチャンネルが、前記第一および第二の入力信号のいずれに対応するかを判定するステップと、
前記第二のチャンネルが前記第一の入力信号に対応する場合に、前記第一の入力信号を処理して、処理された信号を生成するステップと、
前記第二のチャンネルが前記第一の入力信号に対応する場合に、前記処理された信号を出力デバイスで出力するステップと、
前記第二のチャンネルが前記第二の入力信号に対応する場合に、前記第一のデバイスから前記出力デバイスに対してチャンネル変更コマンドを発行するステップであって、前記チャンネル変更コマンドは、前記第二のチャンネルに対応する周波数に同調するように前記出力デバイスに命令する、ステップと、
前記第二のチャンネルが前記第二の入力信号に対応する場合に、前記第二の入力信号を前記出力デバイスで出力するステップと、
を含む、ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記第一の入力信号に対応する周波数は、前記出力デバイスにおけるチャンネル3もしくはチャンネル4に対応する、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 第一のチャンネルリストをコンパイルするステップであって、前記第一のチャンネルリストは、前記第一の入力信号に関連付けられ、アンテナを介して使用可能である全チャンネルを含む、ステップと、
第二のチャンネルリストをコンパイルするステップであって、前記第二のチャンネルリストは、前記第二の入力信号に関連付けられ、アンテナを介して使用可能である全チャンネルを含む、ステップと、
前記第一および第二のチャンネルリストを仮想電子プログラミングガイドへとマージするステップと、
をさらに含む、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。 - 前記第一のチャンネルリストにおけるチャンネルと前記第二のチャンネルリストにおけるチャンネルが重複することを判定するステップと、
前記第一のチャンネルリストにおける前記チャンネルと、前記第二のチャンネルリストにおける前記チャンネルのうちの一つを、重複していないチャンネルへと再度割り当てるステップと、
をさらに含む、ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記第一の入力信号は衛星テレビ伝送である、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第一の入力信号はケーブルテレビ伝送である、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第二の入力信号はローカルテレビ伝送である、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
