Description
a)最初に、溶媒中で、ナノファイバ形成ポリマーを温度T1まで加熱するステップ。

本発明の一実施形態において、最初に、コーティング温度T3まで温度が上昇する前に、コーティング温度T3よりも低い温度T2に至るまで(例えば室温に至るまで)冷却を行う。いくつかの実施形態において、T1とT2との差は、好ましくは25℃以上、好ましくは30℃以上である。本発明のいずれの実施形態においても、温度T1から温度T2への溶液の冷却は、好ましくはゆっくり行われる。よりゆっくり冷却することは、結晶性ナノファイバを形成するためのポリマー鎖の自己組織化に好ましい。この冷却は、例えば数時間または数日を要する可能性がある。好ましくは、温度は40℃/h未満、好ましくは30℃/h未満、最も好ましくは25℃/h未満の速度で下がる。好ましくは、温度は5℃/hより大きく、好ましくは10℃/hより大きく、最も好ましくは15℃/hより大きい速度で下がる。冷却速度のいずれかの上限が、冷却速度のいずれかの下限と結びつく。本発明の第1の態様の複数の実施形態において、T2はT1より低いが、溶媒の凝固点より高い。例えばT2は、最低−20℃または最低0℃でもよい。溶媒の凝固点は、溶媒の混合物を使用することによって変化することがある。
ポリマー分散系の結晶性ナノファイバ含有率は、分散系の温度を、コーティング前に、T2より高い適切な値に設定することで調節可能である。温度をより高くすると、結晶性ナノファイバ含有率はより低くなる。前記溶液の温度を、T2(例えば室温より高い)より高い温度T3に上昇させるステップ(c)は、好ましくは、ゆっくり溶液を加熱することにより行う。よりゆっくり加熱することが好ましい。この加熱は、例えば数分、数時間、数日を要することがある。好ましくは、温度は40℃/h未満、好ましくは30℃/h未満、最も好ましくは25℃/h未満の速度で増加する。好ましくは、温度は5℃/hより大きい、好ましくは10℃/hより大きい、最も好ましくは15℃/hより大きい速度で増加する。加熱速度のいずれかの上限が、加熱速度のいずれかの下限と結びつく。複数の実施形態において、T3とT2との差は1℃以上、好ましくは3℃以上、より好ましくは5℃以上である。
当業者に知られた任意のコーティング方法、例えば特にディッピング、スピンコーティング、印刷(例えばインクジェット印刷)、グラビア印刷、スクリーン印刷を使用することができる。分散系は、単一層として、または多層としてコーティングすることができ、
同時にもしくは同時でなくコーティングして多層を形成する。好ましくは、ステップ(d)は、固体基板の導電性表面上で実施する。該基板は、1つの材料または1つより多くの材料で形成することができる。例えば、該基板は、1以上の導電性層もしくは半導電性層によって選択的にコーティングした導電性材料、または、1以上の導電性層もしくは半導電性層でコーティングした非導電性材料を備えることができる。非導電性材料は、例えばガラス、PMMAのような有機プラスチック、ポリカーボネートが可能である。導電性層は、導電性酸化物、例えばドープしたスズ酸化物またはITOでもよい。半導電性層は、半導体有機材料、例えば半導体ポリマーが可能である。該導電性材料は、特にアルミニウム、金、または銀のような金属が可能である。本発明の複数の実施形態において、1以上の中間層を、基板(例えば導電性表面(例えば導電性層)を有する基板)と結晶性ナノファイバを含有する活性層との間に設けてもよい。それらの層の目的は、正孔注入層および/もしくは正孔輸送層および/もしくは電子ブロック層として機能することでもよく、または電子注入層および/もしくは電子輸送層および/もしくは正孔ブロック層として機能することでもよい。使用可能な正孔注入層(または正孔輸送層または電子ブロック層)は、当業者に周知であり、例えばポリアニリン(PANI)、ポリ(3,4−エチレンジオキシチオフェン)(PEDOT)、ポリピロール、有機電荷移動化合物(例えば、テトラチアフルバレンテトラシアノキノジメタン(TTF−TCNQ))、ならびに、特にモリブデン酸化物、バナジウム酸化物、およびタングステン酸化物のような仕事関数の大きい金属酸化物を含む。
23700g/molのMnおよび42700g/molのMw[60℃のクロロベンゼン中の標準ポリスチレンに関して決定した]を有する5mgのレジオレギュラポリ(3−ヘキシルチオフェン)を、ポリマーが完全に溶解するまで攪拌し、150℃での10gの加熱シクロヘキサノンに溶解させた(澄んだオレンジ色の溶液)。
母ポリマー分散系における結晶性ナノファイバ含有率は、ポリマー分子量分布、溶媒中のポリマー濃度、および溶媒の種類と本質的に関連している。
母ポリマー分散系は、例1に従って作成したが、25種の溶媒と一般式(I)の7種のポリマーから選択する。ここでRは、3つ〜9つの炭素原子を有する直鎖アルキル基である。
ポリマー組成物は、PCBMを、例2に従って得られた所望の母ポリマー分散系に加えることによって作成した。この例において、P3アルキルT:PCBMは、既定の重量比率の範囲内である。マグネチックスターラーを用いて、これらのポリマー組成物を2日間室温で攪拌した。ポリマー組成物は、連続的に攪拌している状態で、加熱ブロック内に配置し、温度T3が20℃より高い温度に達するまで加熱した。この温度T3で少なくとも一時間溶液を放置した(新しいファイバ含有率の平衡状態を得るために)。温度T3でとても少量のポリマー組成物(約45μl)を得て、約3mlの溶媒中で希釈し、紫外−可視分光法またはGPCによってポリマー組成物の正確な結晶性ナノファイバ含有率を決定した。
ポリマー/PCBMの比、それぞれ1.07、0.87、0.7を与える、それぞれ0.65%、0.8%、および1%のPCBM濃度を有する0.7%のP36Tポリマー濃度、ならびに温度の関数として調べたナノファイバ含有率(図6参照)を有するp−キシレン中のポリマー/PCBM組成物を用意した。ナノファイバ含有率はまた、1.0のP36T/PCBMの比を与える各々1.0%のP36T濃度およびPCBM濃度を有するp−キシレン中のポリマー/PCBM組成物について、温度の関数として調べられた(図6参照)。
薄膜としてコーティングした場合のポリマー組成物の温度は、図12および図13に示すような膜のナノモルフォロジーを決定する。この例で、ポリマー組成物に対する42%のファイバ含有率に対応する温度である45℃で、最適なナノモルフォロジーを得た(その例で、P36T/PCBMの比は1/1に等しかった)。
処理中の正確な温度コントロールを用いることによって、さまざまなナノファイバ含有率を有する種々のポリマー組成物を容易に得ることができる。一連の有機太陽電池は、例4に記載したポリマー組成物を使用して製造した。電池は、ガラス/ITO基板上で用意した。該基板は、超音波洗浄器内で水およびアセトンを用いて洗浄した。その後、それらを紫外線−オゾンに30分曝した。PEDOT:PSSは、スピンコーティングによって堆積させ、150℃で15分間乾燥させた。各ポリマー組成物は、不活性雰囲気下で、ろ過することなく、スピンコーティングによってさまざまな基板上に堆積させた(グローブボックス)。最後に、CaAl電極を種々のポリマー組成物から得られる各活性層上に堆積させた。活性化表面は、0.28cm2であった。
P34T:「明確なモルフォロジーの変化はない」が意味するのは、活性層のモルフォロジーは、より高い溶解温度T3で大きく変化しなかったということである。
P35T:より高い溶解温度T3でのファイバの数の若干の減少は、TEMを用いて取得した制限視野電子回折パターン中に視認できる。
P36T:低い溶解温度T3で、PCBM針は、処理した層の中で視認でき、より高いT3でPCBMは溶解し、P36Tと充分に混合する(よってPCBM針は、TEM画像では消失する)。
P37T、P38T、P39T:ピナンは、PCBMのための優れた溶媒でなく、よってPCBMクラスターが、この溶媒中に生じる(TEM画像で視認できる)。より高いT3で、PCBMの塊はゆっくり溶解する(それらは、より小さくなる、または消失する)。
Claims (18)
- 有機光起電力デバイス内の活性層として使用するための層を製造する方法であって、前記層は、ポリマー結晶性ナノファイバを備え、
a)最初に、溶媒中で、ナノファイバ形成ポリマーを温度T1まで加熱して溶液を作成するステップと、
b)次に、前記溶液を、40℃/h未満の速度で温度T2まで冷却し、前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーからなる結晶性ナノファイバを含む分散系を作成するステップと、
c)次に、前記分散系の温度を、前記温度T2より高く、前記温度T1より低い温度T3まで上昇させるステップと、
d)次に、前記温度T3で基板に前記分散系をコーティングし、前記有機電子デバイスのエレメントとして使用するための層を形成するステップとを含み、
ステップ(d)の前に、前記溶液または前記分散系に電子受容体を付加するステップを実施し、
前記温度T 1 は最低50℃であり、
前記温度T 2 は0℃〜25℃であり、
前記温度T 3 は40℃〜50℃である
方法。 - ステップ(c)の後、ステップ(d)の前に、前記分散系中で安定な結晶性ナノファイバ含有率を達成するのに充分長い時間、前記分散系を前記温度T3に維持するステップ(c’)を実施するようにした請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーは、共役ポリマーである請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 前記共役ポリマーは、チオフェン、セレノフェン、チエニレンビニレン、フェニレン、フェニレンビニレン、アニリン、フルオレン、およびインデノフルオレンから選択する1つ以上のモノマーを含むホモポリマーもしくは共重合体、またははしご型ポリ(p−フェニレン)である請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記電子受容体は、フルオレンの誘導体である請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- アニーリングステップをステップ(d)の後に実施しないようにした請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の方法。
- ステップ(d)の前に、非晶質ポリマーを前記溶液または前記分散系に溶解させることをさらに含む請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記共役ポリマーは、電子供与体および/または正孔伝導ポリマーである請求項3〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
- ステップ(b)中に、ファイバ形態を有しない凝集体を除去するための分離ステップを実施するようにした請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の方法。
- ステップ(b)で得られる分散系は、結晶性ナノファイバの、溶解したナノファイバ形成ポリマーに対する、少なくとも70:30の比を有する請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 温度T1は、前記溶媒が前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーを完全に溶解させる温度Tm.d.より、少なくとも20℃低い請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 温度T1は、前記溶媒が前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーを完全に溶解させる温度Tm.d.より、最大60℃低い請求項1〜12のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 温度T1は、前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーが、前記溶媒に少なくとも部分的に溶解する温度である請求項1〜13のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 温度T1は、前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーが、前記溶媒に部分的にのみ溶解する温度である請求項1〜14のいずれかに記載の方法。
- T1は、前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーの溶液が、紫外−可視分光法によって測定して5%未満の凝集ナノファイバ形成ポリマーを含むような温度である請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載の方法。
- T1は、前記ナノファイバ形成ポリマーの溶液が、混濁した、または透明でないような温度である請求項1〜16のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜17のいずれかに記載の方法によって得られるポリマー層を備える有機電子デバイス。
