フケ症状は、頭皮を12の領域に分け、各領域ごとにレベル1〜6の6段階、合計0〜72の段階にレベル分けをし、レベル10以上をフケ群の対象とした。吹き出物症状は、頭皮全体の吹き出物数が3個以上を吹き出物群の対象とした。健常群は、フケ及び吹き出物の症状が、フケ群、吹き出物群の基準未満である場合とした。
フケ及び吹き出物の評価は、ダブルブラインド法を用いて熟練した研究員により行い、使用前後のフケレベル、吹き出物個数の変化量の平均からランク分けし、表1に示した。
かゆみ、かさつきの評価は、被験者に記入式5段階(改善5点、やや改善4点、変化なし3点、やや悪化2点、悪化1点)のアンケートを行い、評価点の平均(小数点以下第2位を四捨五入)からランク分けし、表1に示した。尚、コントロールシャンプー処方は、表1の比較例2に当たる。
