Description
The present invention relates to a data center cooling mechanism, and more particularly, to a data center cooling mechanism capable of significantly reducing power consumption.
In a data center where IT devices (heat dissipation devices) such as a large number of servers and network devices are installed, cooling is performed so that the temperature does not exceed a predetermined temperature (about 27 to 30 ° C) in order to stably operate IT devices. A cooling mechanism is essential for this purpose.
The indoor space of such a data center has a very short occupant time except for maintenance, and the latent heat load is low because the ventilation rate is small. In addition, a load is present throughout the room.
At present, the cooling mechanism is mainly configured to send cold air generated by a cooling device to a heat radiating device using a blower (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
However, in such a cooling mechanism, the amount of air blown is enormous and the air blowing distance is long, so that the power consumption of the air blower is large, that a large space for air blowing is necessary, and a wide space is required. There were problems such as uneven temperature due to uniform cooling.
In addition to the methods described above, there is also a water-cooled cooling mechanism that forms a circulation path so as to surround the heat radiating device and circulates a cooling medium in this circulation path. Since it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of causing damage to equipment, it has not necessarily been suitable for a data center that requires stability and reliability.
As described above, in order to operate the data center stably, both intrusion of dust, generation of water droplets, prevention of water leakage, and reduction of running costs such as electric power are sufficiently satisfied. No cooling mechanism was found.
In addition, when a fire occurs in the data center due to electric leakage, etc., water is discharged by a sprinkler, etc., so that not only the vicinity of the fire but also other devices can no longer be used, and a huge amount of data is lost. There was also a problem such as.
The present invention has been made in consideration of such a background, and comprehensively covers the situation where the required cooling temperature is relatively high and the latent heat load is small, while the sensible heat load is large and the generation source covers a wide range. As a result, it can be operated at a low running cost under the philosophy of making active use of outside air conditions more positively, eliminating dust intrusion, generation of water droplets, and water leakage. It was a technical challenge to develop a new data center cooling mechanism that can reduce temperature unevenness in the indoor space, and can extinguish fire quickly and with little damage even in the event of a fire. .
That is, the cooling mechanism of the data center according to
Furthermore, the data center cooling mechanism according to claim 2 is characterized in that, in addition to the requirement according to
Furthermore, the data center cooling mechanism according to claim 3 is characterized in that, in addition to the above requirements, the refrigerant can be ejected into an indoor space.
Furthermore, the data center cooling mechanism according to claim 4 is characterized in that, in addition to the above requirements, the evaporator is surrounded by a vertical partition wall having a reverse chimney effect to cool the air in the vicinity of the evaporator. Thus, a structure is provided in which high temperature air in the upper portion of the data center indoor space is efficiently drawn into the evaporator without using a fan, cooled, and then discharged downward.
Furthermore, the data center cooling mechanism according to claim 5 is characterized in that, in addition to the requirements of claim 4 , an expansion / contraction part is provided at the lower part of the partition wall.
First, according to the first aspect of the present invention, since the refrigerant is condensed at a sufficiently low temperature over a long period of time by the evaporative condenser, the cooling mechanism can be operated at low cost while suppressing power consumption. And the initial cost can be reduced.
In addition, when the condensation temperature of the evaporator condenser is lower than a predetermined temperature, the variable speed turbo compressor is operated by circulating the refrigerant without causing the variable speed turbo compressor to function. In the condenser, the heat radiation from the refrigerant and the condensation of the refrigerant are sufficiently performed without requiring the power consumption. As a result, the running cost can be significantly reduced.
In addition, when the condensation temperature of the evaporator condenser is higher than a predetermined temperature, the variable speed turbo compressor can be controlled and operated efficiently so that the temperature of the indoor space becomes a predetermined temperature. Further, the evaporation condenser can lower the condensation temperature by about 5 ° C. and 10 ° C., respectively, as compared with a shell tube condenser or an air-cooled condenser that uses cooling water cooled by a cooling tower. This is an extremely energy-saving element that not only reduces the power consumed by the refrigerator but also shortens the period during which the refrigerator operates.
In addition, since the variable speed turbo compressor allows the refrigerant gas to freely pass through the compressor even when the operation is stopped, the other control related to the start / stop by the condensation temperature becomes simple.
In addition, the heat in the indoor space of the data center is effectively discharged to the outside by the refrigerant in the piping without introducing outside air, thus effectively preventing dust from entering the indoor space and the generation of water droplets. be able to.
In addition, the use of carbon dioxide gas, which is inexpensive and can be obtained stably and has high heat transport performance and is naturally friendly as a secondary refrigerant in the secondary cooling cycle after the cascade condenser, reduces the equipment cost and provides an efficient cooling mechanism. Can be realized.
Furthermore, during the normal operation, the primary cooling cycle is stopped, and an operation is performed in which the refrigerant is condensed only by an evaporator condenser connected to the receiver in the secondary cooling cycle, and cooling is performed only by this evaporator condenser. When it becomes impossible to cover, operating the primary cooling cycle including the compressor can reliably prevent the temperature in the indoor space from rising. Furthermore, by operating the evaporative condenser simultaneously with the primary cooling cycle, the load on the compressor can be reduced and the power consumption can be reduced.
Furthermore, according to the invention described in claim 2 , since the cascade condenser is built in the liquid receiver, when carbon dioxide is used as the secondary refrigerant, the pressure resistance of the plate cooler which is a constituent element of the cascade condenser is low. Even in such a case, since the condensation of the secondary refrigerant is performed in a sealed liquid receiver, the apparent pressure difference is reduced, and the condensation can be performed safely and stably.
Further, according to the invention described in claim 3 , in the event of a fire, when the evacuation of personnel in the data center room ends and the unmanned state is confirmed, the fire is promptly extinguished by blowing out carbon dioxide into the indoor space. It is possible to avoid damages other than fire equipment.
Further, according to the invention of claim 4, by utilizing the reverse chimney effect by cooling the air in the vicinity of the evaporator, the upper warm air is sucked into the partition wall, and the circulating flow that is discharged downward as cold air is efficiently caused. The performance of the evaporator can be exhibited without a blower such as a fan or blower. If such an evaporator is placed near the upper part of an electronic device or the like that is a heat load generation source, a wide data center can be cooled relatively uniformly without using a blower device such as a fan or blower while reducing power consumption. It becomes possible.
Furthermore, according to the fifth aspect of the present invention, the lower end portion of the partition wall can be positioned further downward by using the expansion / contraction portion, and the reverse chimney effect can be further enhanced.
The cooling mechanism for the data center of the present invention includes one shown in the following embodiments as one of the best modes, and includes a mode modified based on this technical idea.

Hereinafter, description will be made for each apparatus in which the configuration of the
[ Configuration with variable speed turbo compressor]
First, a description will be given underlying structure shown in FIG. 1 as well as defined in
In the
The
The heat dissipation device R is installed in the indoor space S of the data center D. In this configuration , as an example, the
Further, the
Further, a
In this configuration , the heat radiating device R is a state in which the IT device is accommodated in an appropriate rack, and each IT device is provided with a fan. For example, as shown in FIG. While facing the exhaust direction of the heat radiating device R facing each other, the
Further, an expansion /

Then, the cool air A1 absorbs heat radiated from the heat radiating device R to become warm air A2, and rises in the indoor space S. At this time, since the space facing the
Next, the warm air A2 located in the vicinity of the ceiling is sucked from the upper opening of the
As described above, the

In addition, when such a configuration is adopted, the

In the basic configuration and the reference example described above, carbon dioxide is used as the refrigerant in the
In addition, since carbon dioxide gas is used as the refrigerant, in the event that a fire occurs by providing a jet valve V5 in the piping portion located in the indoor space S of the data center D, the indoor space S is filled with carbon dioxide gas. The fire can be extinguished promptly, and damages other than the fire equipment can be avoided.

In the above-described basic configuration, reference example , and claims, it is clarified that the
[Other configurations]
Moreover , based on the technical idea of the present invention, the following configurations can be adopted. Although the description of the ejection valve V5 is omitted in the following configuration , the ejection valve V5 may be provided similarly to the basic configuration .

Specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, the
When such a configuration is adopted, since the refrigerant is condensed by the
In addition, when the configuration shown in FIG. 4 is adopted in this way, recently, due to the effects of global warming, etc., there is a concern that the high temperature will be unexpectedly high, such as renewal of the maximum temperature in various places. Therefore, it is possible to adopt a configuration of the
